How To Make A Pandora Ribbon Bracelet
by Jennifer and Kitty O'Neil
The O'Neil Sisters
from Running With Sisters
We made this bracelet using scraps of ribbons we have saved up. We often buy loose ribbons at bead shows in a bag. They're called “thrums.”
For this ribbon bracelet, we mixed all different colors and textures of ribbon. We have velvet ribbon, rickrack, and satin cord. And we didn't iron our ribbon scraps. We like the movement that the wrinkly ribbons add.
We chose a pandora bead to embellish the ribbons because a Pandora bead is a bead with a very large opening so we could fit all the ribbons though.
We used a magnet clasp because it's so easy to wear! You don't need anyone's help to put this bracelet on!
Here are the Tools and Materials You'll Need To make This Pandora Ribbon Bracelet:
Materials
Ribbon scraps (at least 8” long)
Magnet clasp, gold
Pandora bead
2 Bead caps
24-gauge wire, gold
Tools
Wire cutters
Scissors
Ruler
Steps:
1. Line up all the ribbons. Cut the ribbons so they are 7 1/2”.
2. Feed the ribbons through the pandora bead one at a time.
3. Line up the ends of the ribbon. Cut a three-inch piece of wire. Bend it into a hair pin. Slide the hair pin onto the ribbons about half an inch from the end.Fold the ends of the ribbon over. Then twist the hair pin wires tightly together.
4. Slide the wire ends into the bead cap. Slide on one side of the magnet clasp. Wrap the ends of the wire twice around the neck under the clasp. Trim the wires. Then trim the short ends of the ribbons.
5. Repeat for the other side.

Great suggestion! We remember to do that sometimes. :)

Such a pretty bracelet. i have small wrists too. It's hard to find smaller bracelets, so it's nice to make your own. This one is so ooak. I never have very good luck with magnetic clasps. They just don't hold well for me, but they do add the right look. tfs
+Moriah37joyfulinhope Thanks for watching! We have found some very strong magnet clasps at our local bead shop. Worth looking for!
So very lovely
Thanks Gloria!
J&K
You make it look so easy! I want to try but I'm extremely anxious because I have OCD and I know within myself that if it doesn't turn out like yours, I'll give up. I wish that I had your patience and your skill.
Aw, so sorry about your anxiety. This is a really forgiving project. You don't need to do anything perfectly for it to look great. Hope you can give it a try.
Best,
Jennifer & Kitty
Wow is awesome tyvmmm :-)
Thanks Maggy!
J&K
That is so very pretty. Why are you not wearing some of the beautiful bracelets you make? Just wondering. Thank you for sharing. Now, I want to make many bracelets.
Thanks Cecilia! We should be wearing them! (Sometimes they jangle too much for the microphone, but this one wouldn't!)
thank you beautiful
Thanks Nancy!

Hi what gauge is your wire please and what size are your end caps ? Love this tutorial ❤
Hi Janette, We used 24-gauge wire and the bead caps/end caps were 8mmx12mm. Here's the written how to with the materials list on our blog: runningwithsisters.com/pandora-ribbon-bracelet/
Hope that helps!
Jennifer & Kitty
Still beautiful in 2022.
Thanks so much!
Jennifer & Kitty
I absolutely love this bracelet! This will be my first time making jewelry. I have searched for hours for a rhinestone spacer like the Pandora one you have but cannot find anything comparable. I would like something very nice but not quite as costly as Pandora. I'm not really sure of the size of the bead or the size of the hole. Would you link me to a place for similar beads? Thank you for the beautiful video and ideas!
Thanks Carol! Sorry you're having trouble finding the right bead. Here are some on Fire Mountain Gems. www.firemountaingems.com/shop/beads-add_a_bead_system_collection-pave_embellishment
Here's a similar one on Etsy. www.etsy.com/listing/171502087/rhinestone-beads11x7mm-rondelle?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=copper%20rhinestone%20pandora%20bead&ref=sr_gallery_6
Look for a bead with a big opening lined in metal. Usually searching with the phrase "pave Pandora bead" works and you can find a $7 or $10 version of a real Pandora bead. We also searched using the phrase "pave add a bead." (Add-a-bead is a generic name for Pandora size beads.) Let us know if you need more help! Jennifer & Kitty
Try Michaels.
Tfs
You are welcome Jean!
Cheers,
Jennifer & Kitty
i so love this creation..i can also see this used ribbon bracelet used instead with hand spun yarns to make a memory bracelet for those of use who enjoy spinning yarns! i enjoy all your ideas ladies! can youshow us how you stay organized? peace. grace in vt
Thanks Grace! Great idea about the yarns. And we love the idea of showing some of our favorite organization tips! Stay tuned!
So......if I need a 7 1/2" bracelet, I should cut the ribbons 8 1/2"? Because you said it turned out an inch smaller after it was finished.
+Patricia DelMercado Yes, that should work depending on the size of your clasp. Double check the length before you put on the last side of the clasp to be sure. Great question!
where do you get those magnetic clasp
We got the magnet clasp at a Bead Shop but you can find similar ones on Amazon like these: amzn.to/35FwFXd
Or on Etsy: www.etsy.com/listing/790407793/cubic-zirconia-diamond-micro-pave
Hope that helps!
Jennifer & Kitty
What size bead cap please
It is 8mm in diameter and 8mm long. -J&K
easy to make, simple materials and look awesome ... ty
Thanks!

Yes Wanda! We add a new video every week! Subscribe and you'll get a notice for each one. Thanks for watching! J&K
The magnets don't stay together
Hi Londa! Some magnet clasps are nice and strong and some are really too weak for a bracelet. Be sure to try them before you use them.
Here's the how-to on our blog: runningwithsisters.com/pandora-ribbon-bracelet/
Hope that helps!
