    How To Make A Pandora Ribbon Bracelet
    by Jennifer and Kitty O'Neil
    The O'Neil Sisters
    from Running With Sisters
    We made this bracelet using scraps of ribbons we have saved up. We often buy loose ribbons at bead shows in a bag. They're called “thrums.”
    For this ribbon bracelet, we mixed all different colors and textures of ribbon. We have velvet ribbon, rickrack, and satin cord. And we didn't iron our ribbon scraps. We like the movement that the wrinkly ribbons add.
    We chose a pandora bead to embellish the ribbons because a Pandora bead is a bead with a very large opening so we could fit all the ribbons though.
    We used a magnet clasp because it's so easy to wear! You don't need anyone's help to put this bracelet on!
    Here are the Tools and Materials You'll Need To make This Pandora Ribbon Bracelet:
    Materials
    Ribbon scraps (at least 8” long)
    Magnet clasp, gold
    Pandora bead
    2 Bead caps
    24-gauge wire, gold
    Tools
    Wire cutters
    Scissors
    Ruler
    Steps:
    1. Line up all the ribbons. Cut the ribbons so they are 7 1/2”.
    2. Feed the ribbons through the pandora bead one at a time.
    3. Line up the ends of the ribbon. Cut a three-inch piece of wire. Bend it into a hair pin. Slide the hair pin onto the ribbons about half an inch from the end.Fold the ends of the ribbon over. Then twist the hair pin wires tightly together.
    4. Slide the wire ends into the bead cap. Slide on one side of the magnet clasp. Wrap the ends of the wire twice around the neck under the clasp. Trim the wires. Then trim the short ends of the ribbons.
    5. Repeat for the other side.

    Such a pretty bracelet. i have small wrists too. It's hard to find smaller bracelets, so it's nice to make your own. This one is so ooak. I never have very good luck with magnetic clasps. They just don't hold well for me, but they do add the right look. tfs

    I absolutely love this bracelet! This will be my first time making jewelry. I have searched for hours for a rhinestone spacer like the Pandora one you have but cannot find anything comparable. I would like something very nice but not quite as costly as Pandora. I'm not really sure of the size of the bead or the size of the hole. Would you link me to a place for similar beads? Thank you for the beautiful video and ideas!

    • @TheONeilSisters
      @TheONeilSisters  Před 7 lety +3

      Thanks Carol! Sorry you're having trouble finding the right bead. Here are some on Fire Mountain Gems. www.firemountaingems.com/shop/beads-add_a_bead_system_collection-pave_embellishment
      Here's a similar one on Etsy. www.etsy.com/listing/171502087/rhinestone-beads11x7mm-rondelle?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=copper%20rhinestone%20pandora%20bead&ref=sr_gallery_6
      Look for a bead with a big opening lined in metal. Usually searching with the phrase "pave Pandora bead" works and you can find a $7 or $10 version of a real Pandora bead. We also searched using the phrase "pave add a bead." (Add-a-bead is a generic name for Pandora size beads.) Let us know if you need more help! Jennifer & Kitty

    So......if I need a 7 1/2" bracelet, I should cut the ribbons 8 1/2"? Because you said it turned out an inch smaller after it was finished.

    • @TheONeilSisters
      @TheONeilSisters  Před 8 lety

      +Patricia DelMercado Yes, that should work depending on the size of your clasp. Double check the length before you put on the last side of the clasp to be sure. Great question!
