Win it for your neighbour and convince them to let you plant it for them and make it happen so you can use it as long as you are neighbours. That is what I am doing here in TWG. The land is not mine 😄🫵🏻

The prospect of losing that Weedy Garden if the worst should happen, is too awful.
I'm sure it grew way beyond your simple plan when you began growing your food there a few years ago. The trees would be so hard to replace in a short time.
You will. Took me a long time but I got it. Not as much as I wanted but God blessed me. Pray about it! Few ideas, tax liens where people stopped paying property tax and abandoned it and you can pick it up cheap, when you can eventually afford land subdivide it and sell half to pay tge rest off or get timber land and harvest it to pay it off. Also if your not married and you do get married and your both working you can get a larger loan. Hope this at least gives you some ideas on how to pay it off. The further in a rural area you move usually the more affordable the land.
You could always try to get multiple people to buy a plot of land with you

I’m in! I just watched your 2 pumpkin seeds video which magically popped up after I’ve only just finished a beautiful batch of Thai pumpkin soup. I kept the seeds from the pumpkin…not kidding! Then I saw the 2 pumpkin seeds video and was blown away! Immediately after that I watched this. What an incredible idea Weedy!
I dream of this lifestyle! I have been saving my pennies for a while with the goal of purchasing a cheap block of land somewhere out whoop whoop. I’m not rich but I’m determined and I will reach my goal someday. Where there’s a will there’s a way 🌱 On my next payday I’m buying a ticket. Even if it’s not me that wins what a blessing for some lucky person.

What a beautiful idea! I’ve been slowly converting my yard into a food forest, it’s a process with love and discovery, figuring out what works and doing new things every season.
Yes! I'm doing the same. Buying trees as I can afford to. Landracing, learning about scales in an urban garden, etc. I always had the most beautiful bird life here, but unfortunately I had to rid my whole yard of all the alien trees. I grew indigenous trees from seed under their canopy and when these grew big enough I slowly chopped the aliens out. The birds were missing for a good few years and now they've back! Soooooooo worth it now that I know they are distributing indigenous seeds and no longer the aliens in my surrounding area. Good luck and many happy days ahead for you in your garden.❤

Did a lawn conversion to native flower meadow at my apt building 2 years ago and it's flourishing! Now I would love to create a food store in the yard. Flowers are lovely and great food for the wildlife but I'd love to produce food from the land for the people who live here as well 😊

Where were you 4 years ago Weedy when a permaculture consultant I engaged declined the job because she had no ideas. Almost gave up at that point but I’m proud to say my husband and I managed to do it ourselves. Imperfectly I’m sure, but our small suburban food forest brings me joy.
We are currently trying to figure out how to build a static chicken coop and run so if you know of any cheap and easy plans you could share that would be much appreciated.
Winning something like this would have been better than the lottery so I hope it goes to a well deserved recipient.

We have just moved into a property in south west WA Australia and trying to create a food forest just like you have 🥰 That would be a dream come true, as before we tried to do it in Perth area, and it would not happen, as harsh summer weather conditions would kill almost all that we have planted in winter. Now we are in a new place with cooler and wetter weather and hoping to create a beautiful food forest for our kids and us so it last for our next generations 🥰

This is my dream it's been my dream for years now and I'm 67 already lol but it's still my dream. My daughter is 47 and is with me and it's her dream too so I do see that it's possible! I am already lucky to have a very productive garden, but I am going to see if I van chip in as I love the idea💚 Might it be someone who wins in the Netherlands, I can recommend EetbaarGoed as a permaculture nursery. They have a lot of food forest stuff and are (mostly) peat free as well. I have several plants and trees from their nursery, among them a young Kaki/Persimmon tree and all is doing really well.
