Kinda sad that a lot of koreans are discriminating the filipinos(not all koreans) and they would always throw hate without knowing how much we fought for them and helped them when the time they needed help, it's sad that they don't seem to look back where they firstly came from just because they are on top now and more richer than the Philippines. I don't hate Korea nor koreans and I do love kpop, but sometimes it's kinda disappointing that they would think us as a low person:>

That's really true but the fact that kpop one person ik loves to visit Philippines and love Philippines
And lisa from blackpink she really likes how we speak and we speak so cool to her and I was feelings happy because my bias is giving us love not hate and giving us happy not sad😭😭😭😭🖤❤🖤❤🖤❤🖤 I really love blackpink and other koreans who loves our country they just think that if they famous they might needed to down other but not it's not good for our futures I hate the fact that when we keep our pride low just for them to win the war like I felt sad because at the end the other teachers of Korean didn't even bother to put us on there history and old Philippines people and old koreans collided and make the war successful and because of the old filipinos they become successful because we are the once who help them😭😭😭😢😢😢😢 and the fact that they are scared and hate us because of the criminals and pollution we put on our country but that was the governments fault they didn't think about the tourist before putting pollutions on Manila because first thing Manila will be there first destination so there first impression is disgusted and scared but I am not blaming the two country's ok I am just stating facts here

True. Of course not all Koreans are like that, but this is why I think more of them should watch these kinds of videos to be educated about the sacrifices of the soldiers who may have been our great great grandparents who contributed greatly (of course among the other countries that also fought) to give them a country they can call home and is now a prospering country. Sure, it's nice that some are becoming aware of these facts but there are still a lot more people (Koreans particularly) who deserve to know this because they even have a monument and a venue I think dedicated to the Philippines' contributions and some may see this and think "why is this here?", well if they look far enough in history, they'll understand why. It's also nice that some Koreans who discover these truths say they're grateful but I think they should really be thanking the Filipino soldiers who bravely fought died so they can all be here today. Instead of simply saying thanks, show it. We Filipinos are humble people and all we ask is that videos like this one be shared so everyone can be educated and maybe eventually, the discrimination that some of them have against us will finally end and some other people (regardless of where they're from) who may unfortunately look down on us will then see Filipinos in a more positive light. That's not too much to ask, right?

As a Filipino, it''s interesting that so many Korean people don't know about the Filipino contributions in the war because they don't teach it in school even though these are kind of important details. More Koreans deserve to know this and even though the ones who learn about this say they're grateful, I think the best way to help and show the gratitude is to actually spread the truth and share these kinds of videos. Maybe eventually the world will recognize this major accomplishment of the Philippines

it is because America takes all the credit. Just like when they "fought" the spaniards and overthrew them. where in fact they had an agreement already in place beforehand. America "bought" the Philippines because the Spaniards were losing and made up a mock war just to save face they want to lose with their fellow whites than lose to a brown skinned asian.

Remember History is always written by, most of the time people who have their own agenda, protecting themselves from criticism for what THEY DID!! The Americans led by Gen Douglas MacArthur during the Korean war, used Filipino's to Fight to stop communist China, from taking over and Dominating Asian Countries. We Filipino's did not forgot the Horrors of WWII. We did not only fight for the Koreans but, also for our own self's best interest. The Shameless American Historians as usual, "HID" this TRUE and important information to the World, they want it to be known that it was only the American Soldiers who suffered and Died in that War. The Truth is very clear to me NOW!! The History lessons I learned growing up, were a bunch of CRAP! Mostly written by people who wanted to skew history to their own advantage, to Hell with the TRUTH.

I forgot where I watched a documentary about the filipinos in the Korean War but I like the moment where the South Koreans side was at a disadvantage but the arrival of a few Filipino soldiers overturned the battle and won. It was such a novel-like scenario but it proves how Filipino soldiers are said to be one of the bravest soldiers during that time.

With that knowing many Korean Go to the Philippines for a while to get into education (english), vacation or to actually live here and Many Filipino go to Korea for employment aa Factory workers. Thanks for this reaction. It is truly our pride and honor of what our govt and soldiers did then to your country. I hope those lives who perished from that war, both Filipinos & Koreans, would not be forgotten 🙁 As you said, at your ages, you didnt know that there's a story like this of the heroism that Filipinos did to SoKor. I hope all that stories and history are all included in your school curriculum so they wont be forgotten by your New Generations. In that way, we will all be indebted to each other and friendship will stil lremain as time goes on. Bless our countries 🙏

United Nation President during that time of Korean War is Carlos P. Romulo which is a Filipino. So basically, Filipino is the one who called and asks the world to help South Korea from the invasion of North Korea. That is why my heart is aching everytime I hear that Filipinos is being discriminated in South Korea. Treated as poor, dirty and ignorant. While in the past, Filipinos did not even think of you as inferior to us. We think of you as brother as we also knows the feeling of being colonize.

We were better in economy that time the korean war started..but they became richer bcoz thier leaders were very patriotic thinking to make better lives for their citizens and on the contrary in our country those who ruled post WW2 just made themselves rich with those of their cronnies and that was our sad state. Their wasn't patriotism for our own people but only for those on the top.
Guess Duterte made it better this time doing his best uniting us in a short 6 years of his term. Mabuhay Pilipinas!

It's so sad that Young generations of today do not have any idea about their country's History. How their ancestors went through the war. How these brave war soldiers fought from the atrocities and fought for their freedom that this generation is enjoying nowadays.
I hope there is more emphasis or give plenty of importance on your History as a way to show your appreciation toward your ancestors.

I don't know why there are many Korean adults who don't know about it. On the other hand, I admire my former elementary students who are Koreans, because they know the history between Philippines and Korea. My favorite student also discussed to me the things he knows about Philippines and this specific Korean war, while my former students whose aged are between 19-26 years old don't know about it. It seems that Gen Z's learn more about history than millennials. I hope, Koreans will someday look how friendly we are to them, and how we love them up until now. 🤝

I personally think that this topic should be taught at school in South Korea, especially for the teenagers of this generation. This is a very important detail of their history and its just right for them to learn about this. Because honesty speaking a lot of Koreans (not everyone) are discriminating Filipinos just because they are on a higher level right now in terms of economy, mostly influenced by Kpop, and on a more stable state as a country and aren't really aware of how those Filipino soldiers sacrificed their lives for the freedom of their country.

They probably did but the curriculum must have not specified which countries participated during the Korean war.
My Korean friends told me that their books or curriculum only mentioned the US and UN forces (which we are part of). Hence, it wasn't entirely untruthful.
      It wasn't deliberate.
Our curriculum on history has this things too. The books doesn't mention every details and only provide the important ones. That's why it's also important to pursue higher education. The curriculum on primary and secondary education in the Philippines doesn't provide elaborate details about our history.
So you shouldn't blame or put pressure on Koreans (about not knowing this part of history) because we also have this lapses in our lower education curriculum. That would be too hypocritical of Filipinos to do.
