- Stop wasting time on mobile games where you tap on your screen over and over like a mindless zombie. Here are a few of our favorites for iPhone and Android that'll actually engage your brain and make you feel smart.

If you had engaged your brain you would have put links in the description
Sam Butler hahah IKR

@@Noorinveststhis is smartness not laziness
This was great, I been tryin to find out about "how to increase iq" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Norayla Jonrayson Cure - (search on google ) ? Ive heard some interesting things about it and my colleague got cool success with it
Hahaha ouch, someone call the fire brigade
Elevate and Lumosity are great! What both are missing is multi-player functionality. During cover-19 it is more helpful to compete against others even if we are of different levels. Lumosity got a lot of bad rap because of misleading advertising but that doesn't make it all bad. It is more about building or refreshing skills. I LOVE Taking Root, Contextual, and Word Bubbles. Tidal Treasures and Train of Thought really do focus on memory and concentration. I would be very happy if our 19 year old son would play either Lumosity or Elevate, just because it would would help him with his reading skills.
thank you! Between brain frog from covid and a traumatic event I experienced 2 years ago, I have had a ton of issues with memory and overall retained knowledge, it’s been extremely depressing and frustrating and I’ve been trying to find the right app or game for some casual training since my brain just straight up feels rusty, so I really appreciate this honest and succinct video!
Hello!I had covid around a year ago andI have some brain fog sinptomes and I feel dumb Idk what is happening I have terrible attention and short term memory and it is very hard to focus.I am almost 15 and sleep around 7 hours which is bad. Please help me.PLEASE
@@andreistiopei4756Are you better now?
Thank you so much for this. Quarantine makes my brain rusty because i wasn't able to go to school so this would help me BIG time. ❤️

I think all these "brain training" games aren't as engaging as people think. They forget creative problem solving. Games like "The Witness" and "Portal 2" require a lot more critical thinking.
I want link of these games...
You're not wrong, but these are phone games. Portal 2 definitely requires critical thinking, but it also requires you to be dexterous with a mouse and keyboard (or gamepad). Furthermore, Portal 2 is a story-based puzzle game - believe it or not, that makes a difference.
I've been trying the Elevate app and I'm on a 15 day streak. I really wish the paid version was more inexpensive but honestly I love what they've done and I would pay full price if I could right now.
DisasterEXE i play the free version too and honestly it made me think more critically and solve math better since im hella bad at math xdd
NeuroNation.
Bruh, you don't know what brain traning games can expand vocabulary, listen carefully, calculate mentally, improve attention and others! You don't care companies because you thought that other games are not fun and you like other games -,-
I’d say learning a language would for sure engage your brain and one of the apps I have is a Japanese crossword puzzle app that has both Kana and Kanji puzzles.
im learning japanese! can you tell me the app?
@@nikoniko-nicomuffler It’s called J-Crosswords. It’s an app made by the same people as the Renshuu app.
Great video. Lots of information and you didn't over exaggerate what the apps could do. Thanks!
This is why I love Zelda because its engaging and has puzzles that need some thinking.
If you like puzzles I recommend battle block theater
Me too. I played some pornhub games its so much puzzle and good
@@nameless9084 very funny man
Another recommendation for a puzzle game - INSIDE
Chess is fun
I have been playing a lot of the coffee game and the trains game of Lumosity and I notice that I have improved doing more things that once, so maybe it depend on the person
Sudoku works for me. The harder the level, the more I have to think. I also enjoy doing 16x16 ones. It helps me see things faster and it helps me see patterns easier when it comes to trading.
@NEW I absolutely love minesweeper
@@pahoellyyy Minesweepers unite! What's your fastest time?
Sudoku is entertaing only to some point. If you do a lot of it, it stops being intelectual chellenge and becomes repeatative
@@pahoellyyy
Also tents&trees, nonograms, Solitaire, cross logic/Einstein riddles, crossing bridge RIDDLES (not frog crossing street games), annagrams
I played Elevate for years. And I do impatiently waiting for it's next update
How can I get my IOS games, Words Without Friends, Word Savvy and Fuzzy Words reviewed here? They are word strategy/puzzle games.
It actually improve your certain skills... That actually help you in day to day life...I personally felt the difference.
You had to be rrreaaaalllyyy dumb for this shit to make a difference in your life

The closest game I've seen to both "engage brain" and "be fun" is "Interspeller: Words in Space".
I think you love astronomy and you're a student of physics
"Controller : [Logic]"...any number of players take turns with the same basic rule set of shapes pieces to mix...then...the entire set the players create is shifted by 1 person over to challenge them with the other person's arrangement...its timed...whoever's in the top 50% gets a slightly tougher starting basis...the grind continues by 50% of cutting the players...until...1...remains...
Such games can be played by any person, and more so by those who want to enhance their thinking.

Candy crush is just so mindless. Games like Zelda are great
I think everybody needed this
I like cooking games . To me cooking games test the speed and accuracy of my brain. How fast it process orders .
I’m taking an adhd evaluation soon for aviation. I’ve been playing lumosity every day to help and I think it has helped a lot. I ofc don’t want to be diagnosed with adhd, I want to be cleared of adhd.
Thanks a bunch sir. Your video was really helpful. Keep going with your amazing content...
Are there any group games online like this ?
You have a great voice.
Thanks for video, helpful for me
Sokoban ("warehouse" pushing of objects which must be done in a certain order to win) is my favorite thinking game, but I have yet to see a version with appealing graphics. You'd swear some of them are unsolvable, but all of them are. Start out with the easy ones and work your way up to the harder ones.
this is why i love the game 2048 !! definitely recommend, surprised it wasn’t mentioned
Tell me more about it
Come on man, the free version of these apps are completely shit! I just subscribed myself on both to improve my math skills and I couldn't even do one math exercice. I have to pay for it, orherwise those 3 games you can do are the ones they propose to you, not the ones you actually want to do.
Games are only needed by modern societies because the don't have the ambition to learnhow to do anything more worthwhile. Like learn how to take care of their own health, learn how to grow medicinal herbs, learn how to actually cook! How about learning how to build simple, attractive shelves, end tables, lamps? This generation is lost, totally lost. Games are for really old people like me (age 82) who can't get into the garage to build stuff.
Maybe they use their brain games to heighten their ability to think and create things in a world where hundreds of industries have intellectually grown ten fold since the year you may have graduated high school
You are doing nice things, thank you for the apps!
How abt stroop effect nd shulte table??
Does anyone know how to access lumosity?
There is game in limonousity called train of thoughts it's basically a game which trains with different colours and you help to guid every train to it's matching colour station it helped me in my daily life
There are a lot of factors that go into how you can improve your cognitive memory and other cognitive functions. No one game has the answer but games definitely have the potential to unlock skills that perhaps we ignore a lot of the time that can be applied to the real world. Why do you think the military use the simulations games before they send people out to the battlefield? Because they work. When you play something in your mind over and over, research shows you get better at it even when you don't practice it. Best solution for improving your brain is to play a variety of games and also to do a variety of activities that use both the left and right brain to solve tasks. Even playing a piano or other instrument can achieve this. Think outside the box and be good to your brain.
Thank you! 😊
The mathmetical problems and langual problem solving are the best i would say. This tests can be helpful..
I just got a add about elevate befor the bid starts
Sir is it good to buy elevate premium pls enlighten me
That comment to parents applies to grandparents now since the gamer generation are now parents. No need to sell gaming to me as parent :)
amazing video!
Wordfeud or GTFO.
Great video. Lots of information and you didn't over exaggerate what the apps could do. Thanks!

Where is The data showing that these does help with Tasks that engage brain Activity ina positive way?
Tbh almost all games give u a new skill. But the usable of the skill is very depending. U won't need survival skill, like minecraft. But maybe u need creativity skill u can build in game like the sims 4 which tbh could work as a brainstorm if u r an architecture. (This is coming from an architecture student)
Some game can give u a new insight, like how notre dame was build based on a game Assasin creed. That just prove how game CAN BE a sight of some of cultural place
Background music?
They need to make these games addictive

I don’t know why they keep saying that it won’t help you in your day to day life. Well, i just played for less than two weeks and I am FEELING a great difference. I believe that the impact might be minimal if someone has aleady good cognitive function. But, for those who suffer from brain fog and lack of concentration, it is great. no "brain dots" no "rusty lake" damn....

No no no. I play "mindless games" because I don't want to to think. I think too much all day long when I am working. Candy crush isn't dumb enough for me...I prefer playing that while watching dumb reality TV. Pair that with a quality chocolate bar and I'm set. Thinking is a waste of time. Curious is this video a mindless advertisement? Cheers
I like garbage and cabbage!
AGREED. I teach. Some days all I can do when I get off is play Bejeweled.
Then why are you guys here?
Brain games don't work this is lie new study showed it.you can google it to know more
Duolingo and ELSA Speaks work very well for me.
Now I can read Spanish because of Duolingo
The research is actually conflicting...partly because different studies use different definitions, different study designs, ect.
Duolingo literally helped me reading and understanding sentences in French. Elevate helped me with equivalences. Reaction training helped me hone* my reflexes. Fight me.
2:07 yeah but multitasking does bad for your brain
But it takes hours to code a game lol.
