HPMC will form clumps in water. So we are using tea or glycerine or silicone oil to disperse hpmc. TEA is also a surfactant, pH modifier. But more suitable for carbopal. Not with HPMC.
I have purchased 100g for my personal purpose. The supplier doesn't know anything about it , also he was busy with big customers and not ready to answer me . So I randomly purchased and done the trial. It is ok.

Hpmc process is industrial process. The amount of hpmc, amount of water, amount of medium, dispersion temperature, blending speed and compatibility of other materials are important.

Do trial batch first. In Trial batch-if it is thick-then -repeat trial batch with modification in formula or raw materials. Repeat trial batch till you are getting correct thickness-then plan for process-this is professional way. Avoid reprocess in bulk: beacuse- reprocess is extra time, extra work, extra money, spoiling quality of product. - it is not professional.

THE ROLE OF SALT IS DIFFERENT. SALT IS TO MAINTAINT THE MEDIUM. HPMC IS TO INCREASE THE THICKNESS AND FOR STABILITY OF THE MEDIUM.

Nitrosole? it is flammable polymer. Not advisable for home care products formulations.
