Dear Fr Warner - in this text, Hosea gives us a window into the heart of God, who loved Israel from the very beginning despite their rebellion. I like the words you used of describing God as a 'hands on Dad' & a loving mother in the parenting of Israel. For us too God is our Dad always with us holding our right hand. God's heart struggles between delivering justice & showing mercy, but in the end love prevails & Israel is restored. Thank you for your beautiful teaching & blessing us. God bless you always 🙏 💞

In this text, Hosea gives us a
glimpse into the heart of God.
God loved Israel and was responsible for the nurture and upbringing of the Chosen People- just like - A Hands on Dad and a Gentle Father
Israel has been rebellious and ignored God's persistent Call to come back to Him.
God breaks His Own Torah and acts with Mercy, although the Chosen People have acted like errant children.
God is not harsh but the Holy One who wants the Chosen People to be Spiritually renewed.
Israel like The Prodigal Son waiting to get back home
May the Holy Spirit continue to inspire and guide you Fr.Warner.
