  • The Ford EcoSport is a mini SUV with chunky looks and some sporty handling. First impressions look like the Ford EcoSport has it all. It has room for four adults and is fun to drive for a high-riding car.
    The face lifted EcoSport was given a comprehensive update in 2017 when it got a much chunkier exterior and a snazzy new interior. Sporty ST-Line trim is the most eye-catching, with a choice of no less than 17 paint colours and four contrasting roof shades. However, the small SUV market has moved on, and Ford has other vehicles such as the Ford Fiesta Active and not forgetting the Ford Puma, so does the EcoSport stack up to its own stable mates let alone the competition?

    Had it for 3 years now and, contrary to most people, we like the way the back door opens. Never any problems with it, very convenient. The car itself is a no nonsens car. Chairs are, even on large distances (over 200 kilometers) very comfortable for frontseats as well as rearseats. Shame they haven't got a new, hybrid model yet. Hope they will, it would then be our choice for our next car again.

      im looking at these now and cant decide as i had a cx3 and it was fantastic just silent but had a dpf fault so it went back, not sure if i should get ecosport, Captur or a focus. I would get a cx3 2.0L but i assume being a 2.0L it will drink petrol and cost more to insure ?? too much choice on the market,

    The little extra windows come in handy when turning (right). It'd be hard to hit a curve or roll on the grass with those. My friend and I were wondering what they were for too at first but I was using them without realizing 😅

    Mine is now 4 years old and doing 100,000km. Apart from the creaky door panels, failed rear window washer and the somewhat inconvenience of always having to park facing forward when I have to load the boot. I'm generally satisfied

    I'm so pleased you've given it a good review. I love my Ecosport! So much better than my elderly Focus! Lovely updates on basically everything! Now I like the rear door, makes it so much easier loading up the car, but you're right about the silly parcel shelf! It's super to drive, I have the automatic gearbox as I prefer that. I don't find it as responsive as it could be. Definitely revs go higher and its quite noisy if you want to be a bit quick off the mark at a junction or roundabout.
    I did my due diligence/lots of research before choosing the Ecosport and I definitely picked the right car! It's great around town and on the open roads and motorways.
    A great little all rounder!

    Very good review. Here in the states there are no recalls on this model so I wonder what long term issues these might have if any. I recently bought the final year of the Ford Ecosport and I love it so far. One thing though I’m tall and I wish the drivers seat would lower further so I could see the signal lights better.

    Good morning. Well done with the video. I have actually read this online in the last few days so I know you are right. I have just phoned my Ford dealer as we own s Focus EcoBoost 2018 with 45,000 from new so this would have been lucky for us . However I was very surprised with the response from Ford and the answer regarding the recall was “ no truth in this as far as we know. We are currently changing cam belts on the older cars and we would know if this were true so no need to panic “. Now they are either hiding the truth or they are not aware as yet . They also stated that they had heard the story so here’s waiting. I must say that our car has been brilliant up until now so I guess if this happens it will be great for us. Top marks on your video and hopefully you sell lots of motors. Kindest regards, Pete.

  • @jamiejones4352
    @jamiejones4352 Před 2 lety +3

    I've had one for two years now and I love it except for the back door, I wish they'd made it a lift back as it would be more convenient in the UK and you get a bit of shelter from the rain when loading. I would be happier if it had a space saver spare wheel, there's plenty of room underneath for it. I do not like the sun roof as it is too far back and I cannot see it from the drivers seat, I have accidentally left it open a couple of times, I wish it had an alarm like the lights on alarm when you get out of the car.

    for the size of the engine they could have fitted a turbo just to give it that little grunt. My wife recently brought a 2020 Vauxhall Crossland X 3 litre with a turbo which brings it up to the power of a 1.8 great economy but still some power when she wants it. Remember Ford do have the capability to develop really good cars but are stymied by cost, but give good reasonable cars. but need to just up their game just a little because they have the resources to do so.

    My 2017 model I just bought I like it for the head room and space I'm 6ft2 but this car is no good for anyone with arthritis in your wrists like my Mum the boot door is to heavy for her! The seats are very firm even in my model 4 years old and the arm rest is pointless it's to low needs to be raised up a bit. Handling on the country roads is not as smooth as my old 2011 Ford Focus. I do like the look of the car but Ford needs to review a few things like the firmness of the seats.

There is nothing sporty about the Ecosport either... what a ridicolous name...
