The Eminem vs Slim Shady concept is honestly a really REALLY cool concept and I believe Em had overall one of the best "Acts" within the genre. With songs like "My Darling"(my personal favorite), Evil Twin and others, he essentially created his own mythology behind the Slim Shady persona. I also like the idea of Slim Shady being this immortal force in Em's mind that never ages. He stays forever young and still dresses like it's 1999, trapped in the time period where Eminem was the king of the world...but he's also outdated and is completely oblivious it(or doesn't care). His antics just don't work anymore in today's social climate. While Eminem continues to physically age, fight for relevancy, battle drug addiction etc. It's a really awesome concept.
Beyonce and Nikki tired to play with the same concept but failed
History simply repeats it self in different forms, em's antics aren't outdated, there just unique to his time.
But those same antics could definitely still apply in today's volatile social climate.
It's not a persona, it's a alter ego. It's a demon that went into him when he sold his soul unto the industry. He talks about it all the time. He says you don't want to be the enemy of the demon that went in me. Many of these artists and many of these celebrities get demons attached to them when they join the industry. They are demons that watch over them and make sure they don't step out of line. This has been a part of the industry since long before you and I have been alive. Go back in history and you'll find throughout the 50s 60s 70s and 80s people became possessed and filled with spirits that helped them throughout their music careers and acting careers. A famous one is Jimi hendrix, he was so filled with demons that his girlfriend even said that he was ripping his hair out in front of the mirror because they were tormenting him so much. Slim Shady is a demon. That's why when everybody says they want Slim Shady back, Eminem finally gave in and said fine you want Shady I'll give you Shady.

It s sad how slim shady fades away, this is the most legendary promo i ve ever seen, literally goosebumps at the end, with california love, it feels like tupac s soul is floating next to the giants, nothing can ever top this event, congrats to all these artists for their careers achievements, they can brag about it however they want right now and we should be happy about it, they make music that gets us through life ❤
i think you look at Slim dissapearing the wrong way, i think its more that when Eminem starts writing, Slim shows up, he's always talked about slim as alter ego or the voice in the back of his head, i think its just him showing that Slim is still there :)

I actually loved that he "won" against his younger self when I first saw this. Fans pit Eminem against himself for years, I can't imagine getting constantly compared to the darker version of your own self even after all the change and positive growth that Em has gone through.
Not surprised, this young man has come along way, he's proven himself over and over, he's given to his music, family, friends, his community, and if anyone deserves this, Eminem does 💯💯💯.
