  • Hey Schwartz Force! Did you know, its a great day to wear a watch? Today we're taking a look at the Tudor Pelagos Blue Reference M25600TB 0001, the 42mm blue dial version. I picked mine up pre-owned in August 2022, and when it arrived, I noticed something strange that no other reviewers or watch channels had mentioned, yet I see this being brought up in various forums online over the last few years...strange. Check out the video and then share your thoughts or experience down in the comments!

    My friend's husband had the Pelagos in this color! The colors were a matched our university, so my eyes were drawn to it. 😅 I liked that the dial and the bezel were matte since the color was brighter than the usual watch, which subdued the attention-grabbing nature of a bright blue color. 💙🤍

    • @DavidSchwartzjr
      @DavidSchwartzjr  Před rokem +1

      Hehe yup it’s such a great tone of blue and the matte finish is just done so well! That’s awesome it matched your university colors! How cool! Thanks for checking this quick vid out, Eve! 😎🍻🙌

    The blue 42 is an iconic watch. I admire mine so regularly when wearing it on the bracelet. This is a hard watch to beat, aesthetically. Perfect IMO.

  • @jons6280
    @jons6280 Před rokem +4

    Thanks for the great video. I agree that the 42mm is a great size and the blue is awesome. I tried the 39mm at a Tudor event but it just felt too light for my taste and the black dial seemed flat and uninteresting (albeit the lighting at the event wasn’t great). This original Pelagos is just perfect!

    • @DavidSchwartzjr
      @DavidSchwartzjr  Před rokem +2

      I know how you mean, Jon. I recently got to get the Pelly 39 in hand and agree that it feels “too light” and doesn’t have the same look as the original Pelly. I would say the 39 doesn’t give the same tool watch vibe as the 42. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on them both! 😎🍻🙌

  • @AvgJoeWatchReviews

    Some great information here. With my GMT, I know there is AR on the underside. I have my doubts that you have AR on the upper but, like you, don’t have an explanation. That blue is beautiful. I see your reasoning behind it. Congrats on the Pelagos.

    • @DavidSchwartzjr
      @DavidSchwartzjr  Před rokem +2

      Thanks man! Yeah I’m pretty sure it’s AR inside on the Pelly but something causes that film on the outside which is just weird. Lucky for me it’s a quick and cheap fix lol. I’ll see what happens once it gets serviced in a few years. Hope you have a great weekend bro! 😎🍻🙌

    I own the Pelagos for about two years now and never had the crystal issue which you described. But I also had issues with changing back to the bracelet. I solved it by not caring about scratches on the back of the lugs anymore 😅

    • @DavidSchwartzjr
      @DavidSchwartzjr  Před rokem +1

      Lol yup, let’s just get the scratches over with and not have to worry about it. I’ve actually felt the same about a lot of my watches for that very reason! 😅🙌 I think this crystal film issue may be a rare thing that happens with reaction to a specific condition or material, it had me intrigued for sure, I’m just glad it was easy to fix and maybe this vid will be helpful if other come across the issue someday. 1:13 looks like what happens when water with a high mineral content dries on the crystal. Took me 10 minutes to get rid of one mineral stain from a Tag Heuer sapphire crystal, going at it with an alcohol drenched ear swab and toothpick. Tough bastard.

    • @DavidSchwartzjr
      @DavidSchwartzjr  Před rokem +2

      That definitely could be the issue, especially if the staining is what gets scratched but the crystal itself is fine. Glad to hear you were able to get your Tag staining off after applying some alcohol and elbow grease lol. Cheers! 😎🍻👍

    My Pelagos had a water mark on sapphire that would not come off after a spending a week in Cancun ocean. I sent it to Rolex via AD, & they replaced the Crystal at no cost. • @DavidSchwartzjr
      @DavidSchwartzjr  Před rokem +2

      Yeah, if I had not been able to remove the film or coating or whatever it is, I was definitely going to return it to the seller. I think it’s likely some sort of reaction the crystal is having since in one of the forums the AD told the owner to get the sapphire replaced so maybe it’s a known issue by Tudor? Either way, was not expecting that especially since no other reviewers had ever pointed it out. Cheers bro! 😎🍻🙌

    Question, I've got a Tudor BlackBay 58 Blue. With that being said, I'm looking to sell the BB58 and go to this exact Tudor Pelagos in Blue. I've got a 7 inch wrist, do you think it would be fine for my wrist or is it too big? Love to know what you think! Thanks.

    • @DavidSchwartzjr
      @DavidSchwartzjr  Před rokem +3

      Great question! So my wrist size is 7” to 7 1/4” depending on time of day and it wears just fine imo. You’ll definitely notice a difference between the BB58 blue but with the lightness of the titanium, it’s so comfortable you’ll adjust to the sizing really quickly. But best advice I can give is to try to get to an AD or grey market dealer who has a pelagos that you can test on wrist if possible. 😎👍

      I own this blue p42 and have a 7” wrist. Sometimes it looks perfect, other times a little large. I personally love the watch. The blue version is quite different in natural sun light. In sunlight it transforms into a gorgeous pale royal blue, unique to other blue divers on the market. I have no regrets in buying this watch.

The expandable strap mechanism worked as it should when I played with it but, in practise it always felt very tight on my wrist. I'm 5'9 and 89kgs. The Blue strap included was never an option for me.
