    I want a Tudor Pelagos more than any Rolex. The lume on the bezel is very appealing to me.

    The protruding bezel is there for a reason, it's easier to grab & turn under water. I'm getting one & the fact it's not a Rolex is a massive plus.

    Thanks for the review. I totally get your thoughts on the ‘negatives’ but, I love my Pelagos LHD. I use my ‘tool watch’ as it’s intended and for that reason found it a much better option than a £10k sub. It’s robust, technically superb, build quality is fantastic and with the light, battle scars it has already it looks even better. The spring loaded adjustment on the strap has been useful to me when riding my motorbike as it allows the strap to extend when needed. So, all in all, I’ve been loving your reviews, loving my Pelagos, would I buy back into Rolex, doubtful, I’d rather use the 7k difference for adventures, obviously when Covid allows again. Stay safe and all the best with the new job 🙌🏻

    1. Rubber strap loosens up after a week or so.. was stiff at first after a weeks wear no issues taking it off.
    2. Its a 500m diver.. Planet Ocean is 600m and 2mm thicker than the Pelagos.
    3. Forget the GMT if you think the Pel is too thick as the Gmt is thicker.

    The Pelagos is an awesome watch. I wear it as an alternative to my Rolex Submariner. When wearing it I don’t “wish” it was a Rolex! It is an awesome tool in its own right.
    Oh and it has a 70 hour reserve compared to the 40 hours on my Submariner….

    Great video! Thanks! Btw if you wear the watches behind your wrist bone, the caseback always digs more into the wrist and it doesn’t get uncomfortable while digging in. You also can make it tighter and you still have no issues with blood circulation ;) another advantage: no crown poking into the back of the hand LOL

    The thickness on the Pelagos is still thinner than the Rolex Sea Dweller 16600 which is a classic comparison. Yes, It’s got a slightly longer case at 50mm vs 48mm. Mind you the titanium on the Pelagos makes it a lighter wearing watch. Given the price and with similar tool like features I’d say it makes it a good alternative. Accuracy with the Tudor in-house movement might even be better on the Tudor. ....... lots of value and quality for the $$$👍.

    Hey welcome back and congrats on the new job! I really wanted to be able to wear this watch. I went in the AD when the BB58 had just come out and saw it, looked too big but It caught my eye, then I tried it on the day I ended up buying the BB36...obviously a David and Goliath comparison. I think it might be their most handsome model, and I do prefer the black one by far...( also the sexiest lume I have ever seen) but it was like having a wedding cake on my wrist. Looks a lot better on you, and I have loved seeing all the strap combinations you've put it on, but I can see why it is on the chopping block. Great review as always! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

    I just purchased this watch and love it, I hear what ur saying about it being a little tall but I’m fine with that (maybe my wrist is more wearable for the Pelagos) . You said you wish you had purchased the Tudor GMT instead, but isn’t that just as tall? One last point , I think the helium escape valve may be unnecessary but it does break up the look of the thickness of the case , which is nice 👍. Thanks for the reviews, I like ur channel, keep up the good work 😁 best Steve

    Excellent review. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. The Pelagos is my first luxury watch, working within the oil & gas industry, I have never spent much on my watches as they tend to get beat up pretty badly (Tissot's are about as far as I stretch to). However, I got promoted to the BU Manager this last summer so decided to treat myself. I love the look of the Pelagos, it is a pure tool watch that shouts "I mean business" and looks good with my work attire be that flameproof coveralls or shirt and tie (double cuff sleeves folded over of course 😎). It did take me a while to get used to the thickness but it is such a minor detractor for an amazing time piece.

  • @MarkN67
    @MarkN67 Před 3 lety +5

    I go diving in a dive watch and I love my Pelagos. You've missed the point with the spring loaded clasp. If you wear it on a drysuit or wet suit and you put it on the spring, as you dive deeper your suit will compress and the spring will make sure the watch stays in place and doesn't just droop on your arm. The contrast of the dial is superb in low light conditions. The rubber strap is good too and they've put a buckle on it as they also include a strap extension for use when using a dive suit, it wouldn't work with a clasp. I think you need to be a diver to really appreciate the watch, if you're not a diver, it's possibly not the watch for you.

    • @watchandrew
      @watchandrew  Před 3 lety +3

      You make some great points and it’s a fantastic watch, for me it’s ‘too much’ a dive watch if that makes sense...99.99% won’t be going diving and (maybe) they should of added some little smidges of luxury here and there - having said that, I admire the watch for watch it is and how it is.

    • @MarkN67
      @MarkN67 Před 3 lety +2

      @@watchandrew Totally get what you're saying. With the Pelagos, Tudor have made a 100% dive watch for divers. From the excellent straps, the non-corrosive titanium metal, the easy the read dials, the helium escape valve, the easy turn bezel and the depth rating far below that of even a professional saturation diver. You're right when you say it's a tool watch. It's actually a very good tool. When you say about adding some luxuries, I think there are nicer looking watches in Tudor's range. The red Black Bay I think you've just bought for instance. Keep up the good work!

I've worn mine with a suit so not asure what you mean about it being too high. My Casio gravity master is higher thaan the tudor for comparrison!my only gripe is that it snags my arm hair, I have natos on my other watches except my Sea master which has an Omega silicone strap ,which is nice but stiff too as is the tudor strap.

    I got the Blue one last July and love it. The server to the watch is it's not your daily wear. It's your swimming diving get out of town in a hurry watch. It's all business. Yes the Blue is over the top but it's bold. You make too much about thickness. I have a 16 cm wrist and it's fine. The titanium cancels out the thickness completely. Wow you are a bit of a snob. It's smaller than the Seadweller and many other divers. You should have mention what a great price point it's at the great guality it has. Mine is as accurate as my GMT Master II Black. I'm going to have mine put on the rubber strap today so I'll reserve comment on that but it feel pretty good to me and they gave it too me for free. So sell it I'm sure it's next owner will love it and really get a bargain to boot.

    I'm torn between this and the gmt, I love the look of the gmt but it's just a bit too hefty for everyday wear. I'm going to have to have a good look at one of these and make my mind up.

    I’m enjoying your videos but you will always have problems with the thickness of watches if you keep wearing them wrong

My best watch is also my most expensive watch which means I want to use that one more than others, it happens to be a Rolex as well.

    Apart from the BB58 (which is too dainty) all Tudor divers need to go on a diet. Ever tried on a SeaDweller? You’ve got that thickness and the weight. Ridiculously head heavy. If you’ve got slim to medium wrists stick to a Submariner. That Pelagos is cool but a bit too cartoonish for my taste.

    @korswe Před 3 lety +1

    I’d rather get an Omega or Grand Seiko with superior specs. Unless it’s a Rolex, why bother? If you can’t afford a Porsche but end up with an Audi, you can’t justify your purchase. At the price point of an Audi, you’d be better off with a Lexus or a Tesla.

      What if you like Audi ?

    • @korswe
      @korswe Před 3 lety

      pathe02. All new (non-exotic) cars depreciaTe in value over time, but some depreciate way more than others. Audi’s don’t hold value all that well. Now, if you drive your car until the wheels fall off, depreciation doesn’t matter, but if you have to sell it any time before then, you’ll wish you owned something that has a higher residual value. Audi’s are nice when they are within warranty period. After that, good luck getting top dollar when trying to sell it.
