- The Bathurst 12 Hour, currently known as the Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour, is an endurance race for GT and production cars held at the Mount Panorama Circuit, in Bathurst, Australia.
It is an annual race, taking place every February. The race was first held in 1991 for Series Production cars and moved to Sydney's Eastern Creek Raceway in 1995 before being discontinued. The race was revived in 2007, again for production cars, before adding a new class for GT3 and other GT cars in 2011. This has led to unprecedented domestic and international exposure for the event. In all, eighteen races have taken place; seventeen at Mount Panorama and one at Eastern Creek Raceway.

I love the bathurst 12 hour but it really felt like it was missing something this year with such a small field and lack of variety of cars. Hope next year its back to how it should be.

Agree on that, it was a bit lacklustre this year. But thats due to internationals not being sure if they could even get into the country when the race entires were closed. Hopefully with international travel opening up more next year will have a more inclusive race. At least I hope it does.

WEC Need to take a page out of the Bathurst 12 Hour book, WEC somehow suggest a 2 minute highlight reel is enough for a 6 hour race while the Bathurst 12 Hour got a 30 Minute highlight reel, way more that what I would've asked for
Such a great race. I love watching the highlights. However, for those producing the video, do we have to have the little ad with the swiping in and out noise between each segment? It gets a bit annoying. But thank you for putting us all together

This is by far the best motor racing Australia has to offer….nothing else comes close.
I prefer motogp at Phillip Island and the F1 track is really good now that they improved the track.
So glad this race is back!!! Great race! The changing conditions made it feel very Spa/Nurburgring like. The drivers are absolutely fearless tackling a foggy Mount Panorama.

Good race, nice drive by Engel to get to 2nd from the back and with more pit stops. Weather kept it interesting and really showed the skills of the drivers. I enjoyed watching it live, and these highlights.

You know what? Not only I think that the Bathurst 12 hours look like would be better suited this time of year. Not only that. I would love to see this to be extnded to other circuits in Australia. Like having this race at bathurst, but also having The Bends 24 hours

I’m pretty sure that is on the plans for The Bend. I don’t think they would’ve spent all that money on the second longest track in the world to not have endurance racing.

Craft Bamboo's pit strategy was an odd one but worked to their advantage after the compulsory stops were finished
what were those compulsory pitstops?
@@jesusrodriguez6048 you needed to do 9 2 minute compulsory stops but Craft did them all before the 4th hour, so their later stops were as fast as they could do them

These guys are faster in reality, night and fog than me in ACC and good conditions.
As a volunteer flag marshal for this event, I feel I can say is years race is probably the most unique Twelve Hour race we've ever had.
I mean, fog, rain, longer night racing, fewer cars, very experienced drivers and good hard racing!

Nice to have more cars but less classes because the speed differential for slower cars is too dangerous on top of the mountain.
With the early entry list for the race it had Whincup in the 888 and Van Gisbergen teaming with Lowndes in a McLaren
So many negative comments here, I enjoyed the race! Hoping next year we have more cars, GT3 and GT4.
But also need GT2/GTX cars are rebranded of the class
I hope to see more GT2 - they havent had much representation in endurance races yet.
The KTM GT2 showed itself to be much more viable for Mt Panorama than a GT4 (same team has run a GT4 previously). 2:08 best lap in a GT2 vs 2:15 for the GT4 and it was mixing it with the GT3 cars early in the morning.
I'm finding it harder and harder to watch the 1000 race with enthusiasm.. the 12 hour seems more appealing these days

I watched this race for the final 7 hours, and it was well worth it! Such a shame that the #74 got that 2 minute penalty, otherwise they probably would have been contending for the win.

The flash advertising appearing every few seconds was annoying as F*^K! Gave up watching this video after only a few minutes. Rediculous.
The race itself was awesome. I watched the highlights elsewhere.

I don't think it was as good as the last few with alot of the world's team missing ..bloody covid..but at least 888 didn't win so that made me happy..let's just hope we can get all the teams back soon for the next 12hr well next for me the crown the le mans 24 hrs bring it on

It should start before or at sunrise to avoid the dark.
The dark is unavoidable for this race as there isn't 12 hours of daylight in Bathurst in May. It's winter, the days are short. Now the 12 Hour has moved back to its regular schedule in Feb when the days are longer it's no problem. This year it started at 5:45AM which was before sunrise but there was still a glow on the horizon and the cars only needed headlights for about 45 mins.
Agree with others that there needed to be more cars. GT4 for me. But I also found the 2 minute pit stop thing silly. It was just some weird thing to force convected drama. And I found the driver minimum and maxim thing has gone too far. And why bother with the pro-am thing at all? Make it about the cars. If people want to run an amateur team or a mix, that shouldn't be lined to the car category. Professionals should be able to drive gt4 and amateurs gt2.
Just let people race.
