Title says 1932...first line of the film talks about how Bali was the last island freed from the Japanese invasion....this film probably made around 1944-45
Lovely video of simple living Balinese people and its unpolluted natural scenery that stirs the viewers spirits and elevates the soul. Many will now be induced to go to Bali and get the real feel of it all. Authorities will be well urged to come up with ways to regulate tourist inflow and do nothing that can mar the Balinese beauty of landscape and culture, letting it become history. Many "tourist spots" are now mere overcrowded, stinking spots due to inept, overenthusiastic tourism planning.
Bali is Very beautiful and interesting cultures, but I am not sure and worries if they can keep theirs cultures life since Bali it’s still part of Indonesia, because if you see now the rest of Indonesia mostly has lost theirs own cultures, most on them become influenced by Arabic’s cultures with all life styles and mentalities in any levels. Also many others Indonesia moved in to Bali as well and Balinese people moved out because they don’t have enough land anymore
bali still same with that cultures, indonesia is bhineka tunggal ika, every province n city is different, we r not have arabic culture, its just most population indonesia is islam in sumatera island exactly, but kalimantan, bali, etc most population is hindu or buddha, so u can't say indonesia have arabic cultures
sungguh sangat indah dan luar biasa apabila kearipan lokal dan adat isiadat Bali dimasa lampau tetap terpelihara untuk selamanya Di pulau Bali. the island of paradise.
How can this have only been viewed hundreds of times , I have many Balinese friends including the highest monk manku from kuta. No wonder culture is dying and nature dissolving with it.
Whole indonesia once was a Hinduism under raden shri vijay (majapahit Empire ) religi0n play crucial role to develop tradition and culture these tradition are heavenly mentioned in Vedas and shavism 🕉️@@ziadelsissy3088
I would like to know why did they change the real music of gamelan with this simili asian music made in hollywood , maybe the sound of gamelan had no sense for they develloped western ears . I am just wondering !
How is it supposedly 1932 (per the comments) when in the opening line he says it’s one of the last places to be freed of the recent Japanese invasion? And sorry, then this guy goes on about tribes of religious refugees from India invading Bali? lol - this bloke has made two massive blunders in the opening two lines huahaha
I believe this one is fake. look at the kecak dancer's hair, none of them has long hair. seriously?? 1930's like ancient bali, not a single man thought about cutting their hair. even for the balinese, long hair for the man is like a part of the culture. thus, the strange thing is, one guy has like chinese actor's hair style.
There are many other bali vintage videos with short haired men, but at 7:02 min, one could see 2 men tied the hair up (middle & right) & others have nicely combed or shaven sides, strangely uncanny like hairstyles of the 80's. video is in monochrome so details aren't clear.
Watch this after reading about K'tut Tantri (bless her soul..)
Bali is indeed and always beautiful.
The Kecak Dance send me shivers..
This doco is manificent. Love to archive it. Thanks for uploading.

Bali is still Bali. Indonesian cities have the autonomous right to govern themselves. Hindu rituals are widely practiced there

because they catcth the video without sounds so they dub the music with chinese music... and its not chinese who played it too...
ah the life before the age of internet.
You only have to go back to the 1980's for that. But just as back in the 1930's, the 1980's had more than its share of problems.
NICE
@kevinkrouse The pictures are gamelan, but the music sounds suspicious.
Great time
That is how humans ought to live
that is hinduism no doubt
Too bad they don't use real Balinese music, but some westerner's idea of what Balinese music sounds like.
what are negative impacts of this video?
