My son is special needs and he loves trains 🚆🚂🚃🚄🚅🚇🚈🚉🚊🚝🚞🚋🛤 especially streamlined passenger trains like that one he thinks they are highly underrated and all should be preserved, restored, and put back into service on lines that are not used anymore or don't get passenger service. He also thinks that Siemens, Progress Rail, or any other company that builds railroad equipment should build full size working replicas of historic streamlined trains and the departments of transportation should restore and rebuild railroad lines that were abandoned and removed and run these on them!

If this was made today I wonder if they would tour lovely Skid Row.

I was born at LA General Hospital in 1949. My parents had an apartment near Figueroa St. and Slauson Ave until I was two and my brother was one. We moved to a small house near 5th Ave and Hyde Park. My parents told me that they paid $5,000 for it. I went to 59th street school. I had friends of every race, religion and origin and everyone was equal in my eyes. I never thought about the differences as a little boy. It was a great time to be a kid. I remember street vendors of all manner of goods and services selling their wares as they walked or drove slowly on our quiet neighborhood streets. On Halloween a nice lady in the neighborhood gave a homemade caramel apple to every kid. This period in my life was the happiest. Sometimes I can’t believe that that kid was me.

My mom and her family were born on a sugar cane plantationin Rincon.The life was hard, they didn’t have makeup, outhouses were common, washing clothes on rocks with the spring water, teeth melting from eating on sugar cane all day. I was born in 1951 and lived in connecticut all my life. The saddest thing is seeing how all of the industries have left the state. The Naugatuck valley used to be the brass capital of the northeast but that is all gone now.All the factories have been closed down, demolished,or converted to housing.
