I broke all records for falling off one of these back in 1962/3 winter when roads had ice up till April. Learned to just step off and let it slide. Great little machine, took me all over and to work every morning and never failed to start and go.
I`ve got my dads 1957 150 ld ,last on the road 1964 when I was born and my mother couldn`t hold two kids on the back so dad bought a car . Got all 7 tax discs from new, original bill of sale, fairing ,helmets, gauntlets, running board bag and seat covers same as yours. Stored in a dry garage since 64. Not been started for over 35years but engine still free. I will get it running one day!
Drove one like that - the same color and model (150 Li) in1971 - had it for 2 years then sold and bought 175TV. Sold that one too in 1991. All services I did myself. Ilkied the most their sound Definitely worthy to restore but to make full dismantling some special tools are required. Good to get detailed workshop service book which once was available
I have seen a Southend on sea...sign. Are you in that location.. I too was from Southend on Sea..Also got my first scooter from there too NSU prima D for a staggering £3..then shipped it back to up to middlesex and rebuilt it was 15 at the time.. I then went on to a Li150 bored out to 175...then put in an SX225 engine..that was good..Great days..now an old fart.. of 68...🤣🤣
ROCK ON fart........... i'm 70. i have 700cc honda transalp, and just got back from visiting friends........... up thru france, across belgium and in to holland on my Triumph Tiger 955i........... epic
@@raymondo162 Ah...one old fart to another..l did touring Europe on my triumph 500 1973..(back in 1975..6) What a memory...even went down to the Canaries to see my mum... Holland too. Met some interesting people...had a great time..and had more hair..👍🤣 That triumph never missed a beat..and was getting around 90mpg..at about 60..70mph..did Spain in 24 hours...wonderful experience...France not so hot...but better on bicycle...but that was later... All these old machines are great....even to work on. So have fun with yours. 👍🇬🇧👍regards Simón..

Wow! THlS reliable machine is MY age..1958..65 years old and STILL kicking and digging scootering!❤👍🤝
Hope you get this beauty going 👍👍
Great effort lads you'll get that going 👏 💪
Better to have seen you get it going. Good luck with it, good find
A good strip down and clean up should have it running, great vid, keep us posted!
Love the twin tip exhaust, but I'd buy the legshield trim.... Seriously! I want that trim!
I had an SX200 back in 1971, and filled up full tank of petrol for 17.5p (3/6d)
In 1974 I remember paying 50p (ten bob) including 2-stroke.
@@borderlands6606 1963......... five bob a GALLON.
Hopefully it will live a kinder life with restoration and a doting owner.
V5 last updated 2005, very nice find and enjoy
