    "A little light on the GIbson wall" Hah there's a lot of stock at your GC! Long and McQuade is our big Canadian retail chain for guitars. Our little Vancouver Metro market of 2.5 million souls has 8 L&M retail stores. The biggest ones might have 25% of your GC stock but a lot of current models out of stock due to supply issues. I'm jealous.

      So many guitar players in this town they got to keep the shelves stocked. You could spend a whole week hitting music shops in this town.

      Lots of guitars here for sure you never know what you might find whether at the local pawn shop or in a guitar store.

    If every Guitar Center was as well organized as this, they'd be in great shape. The couple near me, whenever I pick up a guitar, few don't have sharp frets. Yes, that can be fixed, but it makes it so I can't even try it out. I've never seen Suhrs or Andersons in a GC, much less Kauers.

      This GC is a sight to behold for sure! Tony curates great guitars here because a lot of players come in that need guitars for tours and gigs, so this is the spot to get them.

    I started playing in '83. Guitar Center is more of a shopping mall than a music store. It doesn't even smell like the old music stores did. Not a fan... Especially of "relic'd custom shop" editions, hanging in G.C...

    • @badbrad
      @badbrad  Před měsícem

      I hear ya. I started playing in ‘75. It def has more of a mall feel but it’s the only place you can get a new Suhr or Friedman in Nashville so it’s an option some will embrace.

    Its just too bad that all the nice guitars are locked up.

      If you serious about trying one, I'm sure they would help you.

      @@badbrad Of course they would ...thats not the issue. That means that if you don't like it you have to go and grab the service person, have it locked up again, and then ask again if you want to try another one. Its a terrible business model. Compare that to a store like the Music Zoo where you only need to ask for help if you have questions or need to purchase. I have purchased more guitars by running the racks than any other method and its too difficult if you have all the guitars locked up. I have spoken with the Guitar Center Management in Brooklyn and I understand why they do it. They can't watch everyone and people will steal guitars outright-and they don't have enough staff on hand due to budget constraints. Many times here in NYC the Guitar Centers are woefully understaffed and have been for many, many years. Its a sad state of affairs for Guitar Center stores in NYC and California I might add.

      Yeah you can def find some deals on marketplace.....but sometimes it's tricky dealing with all the scams and shysters...
