  • In 1890, former soldier turned author Ambrose Bierce would publish An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge. 124 years later, game developer The Astronauts would release The Vanishing of Ethan Carter.     I was interested until I heard you use the term "problematic" to describe a book written over 100 years ago. History is not problematic, it is just history right or wrong.

      Hard disagree here I'm afraid. While I get what you mean, the idea of not citing the changes in social norms and acceptable/non acceptable behaviour in historical sources is counter productive in my opinion. Historical texts, be them fiction or not, should never be changed or doctored of course, but they should definitely be learnt from :)

      @@FirstOutpost That's just it. Labeling something as problematic makes people less likely to be exposed to it and therefore less likely to be learned from.
