The whole world will break you, if you let it. These lyrics just get progressively darker I'm describing life for a lot of people. A lot of people are dealt a bad hand and have to tend to how they feel every single day.
Have you heard people saying that sometimes the Major key sounds sad instead of happy? For me, this is the ultimate example. Literally half of this song can make you cry and the other half can make you headbang uncontrollably

One of my favourite albums of Metallica. Such a great album - surprised people can't seem to appreciate it….so strange. how can you not love the music, lyrics, atmosphere, the melodies, double tracking, 2 guitars playing different rhythm, innovative drums. It's such a great sonic album.

actually after all is said and done, I really enjoy these songs. It gives their entire discography so much contrast that you can really find yourself understanding Metallica outside of the thrash context.

This album takes me back. Back to my freshman and sophomore years of college. With my first love. Driving around in that jeep rocking out to Metallica. Didn't even have a tape or cd player in the jeep so we had to use a boombox to listen to music! I know a lot of Metallica fans hate this song and this album, but it gets me in the chest for some reason. And it brought a lot of people to Metallica that hadn't listened to them before. Then they discovered they liked a lot of their older stuff too.

This isn't an insult or anything... I have kind of a sleeping problem and I need music to put me to sleep and this song is always the one to do it! Such a great rhythm and James' voice is just angelic, and the calm sections will do it in a heartbeat. Love this song, Metallica is the BEST!

From day one METALLICA had me. Till this day i grind my teeth with when i jam to METALLICA. They're the truth no doubt about that. I'm 46 and I've got them on my bucket list, just hope they play close enough to northern Alabama before i croke.
If the best of Load and Reload were combined to make a single album you would still have people saying "Metallica has not made a good album since Puppets", but they would be mistaken. Some of the most personal, explorative, and best songs exist on these two records.
I love this song. It's my childhood and it returned to my adolescence in the right time to learn it in my guitar.
I can't help it, I always burst out laughing whenever I see Lars with that ridiculous mustache in a sombrero. Doesn't matter how many times I've seen it. :D On the other hand, I swear James was born to play a cowboy. I bet that making this video was lot of fun. :D
I believe in the next 20 years Load and Re-Load will be considered one of the best album in rock history, especially Load! Meanwhille is sooo underated.

This right here is my favorite song! My dad told me stories about when I was 2, he'd drive me around in his Jeep playing this album and every time it got to the heavy parts I'd bang my head. Thanks to him, Metallica is and always will be my favorite band and inspiration! You guys are amazing! I'd love to hear this at your next concert! That'd make my life!

To appreciate this album it's uniqueness and beauty one needs to grow to it just like Metallica did. Now I see it perfectly clearly. At first I didn't get the geniu of Load and Reload being ignorant and to even go to an extent of calling the guys sellouts for this. But seriously, if you take time to arrive to more versatile taste just like Metallica have since AJFA you will get it. Reload and Load are hence among my favourite albums of all time and I don't see anything wrong with this. :)
