Thanks so much for paeds update which medical conditions are a must know for interns for paeds or common that u managed ie pneumonias. And would u say in terms of procedures like putting iv up and blood gases are second nature wen doing paeds.lastly do u think it would be advantage to do advanced cause in hiv tb would assit once u become an intern
Thank you ! You really give insight on how it goes working as an intern . How many days do you work a week ? Do u get any rest ?
Our normal work week is Monday - Friday and we have our calls as well. We do around 4-6 calls a month. So usually every week has a call or 2 in it. Yes we do get time to rest. We also get around 9-10 days of leave per block. So every 3 months we have a 10 day break.

Hi im currently a matric student, do universities look at term 1 of grade 12 report even though you applied with gr 11 marks?
Actually my gr11 marks are good and meet the requirements for the health sciences degree i want to go into(biomedicalsciences), but my term 1 of gr 12 dropped drastically from my gr11 final marks. So how bad is it for me and what can i do now?
No, your trial / final marks are important. Don’t beat yourself about how bad you did- focus on getting better marks. Hang in there! You definitely can do it. Just keep practicing!
