- One of the biggest questions from Poppy Playtime chapter 3, is where are all those orphans?
For such a huge part of the story, we barely got any information on what happened to all the orphans in the playcare during the hour of joy.
Well today I bring you possibly the best explanation yet!

I think this makes a lot of sense.
There is no good reason for the kids to be killed, and we have yet to hear of the toys being hostile to them.
Maybe they really did hide them away where no one would find them
But how would they survive though?
After all, lack of food is why the Toys are turning on each other.

I feel like it was the tiny smiling critters/Dog day. They're the only ones that we know for sure are not fully dead. Huggy is a big question still whether he's alive or not.
Let’s say one kid survived for those 10 years, that means that they had to eat 3 meals a day which means they had over 10 thousand meals in 10 years, just for one surviving child, unless the child would only have two meals a day which brings it down to around 7 thousand meals in 10 years
It has to be huggy who attacked kissy. If he is dead then why are they giving him so much importance
Because maybe the main character could’ve worked on huggy. Or just nightmares. But he’s dead, forever and why would huggy attack kissy?

Also no one kills there main game mascot in first chapter if I'm speculating it's definitely Huggy that atacked her

I remember assuming that the thunder storm would tease that there would be simulated weather in the playcare since it was underground, but the children being scared of the hour of joy being translated into the smiling critters being scared of thunder is not only a great idea from the devs, but also an amazing call out from you
I really don't think Dogday is a transformed employee. I feel like he was probably an orphan too considering so few staff members were actually converted into toys. Maybe he was one of the older kids? He was still supposed to be the leader, after all. His resistance of the Prototype just earned him the same treatment
one theory of DogDay being a transformed employee is him being Harley Sawyer. Mainly because DogDay and Harley have the same Voice Actor. But there are other little bits that could be hinting for this, for example in one of the tapes when Leith Pierre is talking to Catnap, he says "Normally I'd have Dr. Sawyer do this, but he is out... let's say." He doesn't say Sawyer is dead or disappeared, he says "out" with a hesitant tone
@@danrib4048 I have a hard time believing they would turn one of the doctors into a toy. The only real reason they would have to keep him alive is so they could make him continue his experiments, but Dogday's design doesn't really seem suited for such things. It's also possible Leith Pierre isn't actually allowed to tell Catnap what happened to him for some reason. Possibly because he doesn't want Catnap to be thinking about anything other than his duties in the Playcare with the children.
We do however see on the various posters around the facility that the foster program was accepting children as old as sixteen. I feel like Dogday may have been one of these unfortunate teens, chosen because his seniority would still make him feel responsible for the other critters while still keeping them closer in age than an employee would be. The shared voices also don't feel like a reliable match, as Dogday has a voicebox, not actual human vocal chords. It's possible his voice was just modelled after the doctor's, possibly because of the pitch.
Nah @@danrib4048, it's a voicebox. IIRC there's also lore on this exact topic, as the same document that listed Theodore as a potential smiling critters bigger body had a bunch of other children's names. I wonder if one is "Kevin?"
I think something important to remember is that its been 10 years since the hour of joy. At the very least, i don't think the children are children anymore. I recon we've got a grusome discovery coming up. Either they're dead - used to feed the toys as they grew up or maybe killed in the hour of joy but catnap has kept their bodies safe - or theyve been turned into toys too

I feel like Catnap is one of the saddest characters so far
Sure, all "animated toys" wanted to protect the children, but Catnap is the one that tried to do so more than anyone else. Granted, it could just be due to the fact that he might have had more access to them during the hour of joy, but still I feel his drive was on a completely other level.
His faith in 1006, born of being saved by it when he was a bout to die, is so unshakeable, so unwavering, so complete it makes him a very tragic character in my eyes.
We have no real idea what the relationship between Huggy and 1006 was, we clearly saw Mommy was afraid of 1006 and went "rogue", in a way... Catnap was the one that we know never doubted 1006 for even a second.
Catnap just wants everyone to leave him, 1006 and, supposedly, the children alone, and has complete confidence 1006 is doing what is best for the children, seemingly without even questioning what that might be or how.
The scene at the end of the fight with him in chapter 3 is just heartbreaking to me: the fear of having disappointed his "god", the relief of not being immediately punished, the at least apparent understanding and acceptance of what has to happen next... I think those few seconds perfectly encapsulates the complex and deep relationship between 1006 and Catnap.
When 1006 snatched Mommy's body, its movement almost seemed eager, somewhat "excited", while in Catnap's case, the mannerism of the arm and hand is much more contained, much more careful, much more compassionate, in a way.
I don't know, I just think this chapter was indeed not only the darkest but also the saddest so far on so many levels.

I agree this chapter was very sad with Catnap's fate. DogDay too had a terrible fate as well that he didn't deserve.

There's just one problem: the Hour of Joy took place at 11am, not 10:03pm, according to the 8/8/95 Emergency Alert tape. Logically, the kids would have been in school, as this was a Tuesday morning. It might be that during the emergency, the teachers were ordered to evacuate them to a safe room, where CatNap sedated them before proceeding with the staff killings. However, after that point, I don't think it's likely they've just been keeping those kids down there this whole time. It is very costly in terms of money and resources to keep even just one person alive in a bunker for any extended period of time, much less a whole orphanage of growing children for ten years.
So perhaps this is a point against my theory, but perhaps that is just when the emergency alert went out. If we look at Kissy's VHS we can see it was completely tampered with. What if 1006 hacked the cameras, turned off some of the security systems and 11 was the time someone managed to send out the alert? But by then, it was far too late. The "hour" of joy being the hour the security was down.
The kids weren't in school; it was their summer vacation. There's a bulletin board in the school with a flyer that says school is resuming in September.
Anyhow, I doubt they were at the school aince in Ms Delights VHS, she says that she asked Catnap if the children were safe: this implies that she didnt know what happened to them during and after the hour of joy. So the same could apply with her sisters. Maybe they knew how it would go, but the children were in Catnaps care. Furthermorw, she also says she wouldve killed the children, thus Catnap must ve seen the threat she represented and took them deeper into the laboratory. Out of sights. This is what I think

@@Terichook straight up good counter, I have another potential issue for you however, being that hunger can drive people insane but since the Toys are so disconnected to humans at this point the insanity of hunger would’ve driven them to eat the children long before each other, sounds strange to say that but I base my theory on human psychology, a family in a bunker would sooner eat a saved and half dead pet then the fattest human, it’s just human nature to ensure cannibalism is truly the last resort unless your crazy long before starvation

My Poppy Playtime Lore Theory:
Our protagonist is Harley Sawyer or someone important that had something to do with the experiments:
In chapter 2 we go down a slide that brings us to a room. When we turn around we see 4 slides. 3 visible names of the heads of the innovation team and 1 completely purposely covered and ruined with the letters of the name everywhere on the floor. I believe it’s our protagonist’s name. (Still haven’t seen someone try to make a name out of the letters)
In chapter 3 The Hallways with the radio talking about a dead body of a child found outside the premises of the facility in a muffled bag with missing bones, spine and organs is actually what I suspect our protagonists doing before escaping the facility and leaving the bag to be found (because of our guilt) so people could realize what was going on in the facility. Catnap is the only creature with bones and a very visible Spine. He was the kid found in the muffled bag. The place is structured the same as in the infamous horror game ‘Silent Hill PT.’ It’s way to hint to us that this is our protagonist having PTSD going on having guilt trip while hallucinating his actions. The kids pictures are hallucinations of the children our protagonist knew and eventually transformed into toys. The prototype is making us experience the horrors that we created guiding us through the facility with VSH Tapes he purposely placed, using Poppy, and making us undo all our wrong doing making us kill all the toys/horrors we created along the way.
Who and what is the Prototype?:
The Prototype might be an amalgamation of different kids and employees. (Elliot Ludwig too) The same employees they wanted to get rid of. That explains the skeleton with the construction worker’s helmet. Catnap was tasked by the prototype to put Poppy in stasis with the poppy gas to keep her safe during the “Hour of joy” therefore not being able to do anything and listening to all the horrors while under the gas and vividly hallucinating everything. A Horrible Experience as she describes.
We find hung toys in catnap cell, and later on we see him scooping up a small Bunzo Bunny. It was Catnap who hung all the toys around the facility and outside poppy’s room, warning other toys not to get in that room therefore protecting Poppy from the the toys going berserk during the Hour of joy, as the Prototype asked. (He even placed the prototype’s introduction tape outside of her room).
In Chapter 3 we can find some “Baby Cots”:
The baby infants that disappeared got transformed into the small smiling critters that later crawl towards the player just like babies because they never got taught to walk.
Poppy’s Angel:
When Dogday refers to us as “Poppy’s Angel” because Poppy calls us like that, I think she is implying we are the Angel of death. In certain horror stories the Angel of death is attributed to serial killers or Surgeons (Doctors) Just like i suspect our protagonist, Harley Sawyer or a cruel surgeon that took part in the experiments.
At the end of chapter 3, Poppy and the prototype, lead us down to the Laboratories or as someone found out going through cut files, a “Prison” (a sign was found in beta version) she needs us down there “to kill the prototype”. We know the prototype was held in a cell, But how would the prototype still be trapped down there if the vault was sealed shut and we see him roam around the whole facility through all the chapters following us? Very suspicious. I think she and the prototype might be planning to bring us to the laboratories and use our body as a vessel (Just like in FNAF when our body gets scooped and occupied by the amalgamation, the prototype is an amalgamation too and he might be scooping the toys as Mommy Longlegs says to “make me part of him” so he can make everyone finally escape in a human body.) that’s why Poppy says: “we need you”.
The Protagonist’s PTSD:
The Screams we hear from pressings the buttons on the cardboard cutouts, might be flashbacks or some form of ptsd from when the protagonist was experimenting (transforming) the kids into the “smiling critters” while they where still conscious. We know that the gas triggered some memories and flashbacks visually and audible too. that explains why the smiling critters are talking directly to the protagonist. I think since the beginning of the game the cardboards don’t actually work and in reality they all Buzz or glitch like some that we find malfunctioning. The ones we are able to hear is because our PTSD triggers and flashbacks of the children our protagonist directly Experimented on. The Buzz or glitching of some cardboards is because our protagonist didn’t experiment on them and therefore it doesn’t trigger ptsd or direct memories that makes our protagonist hallucinate voices because we didn’t have direct connection with those experiments or children. The cardboard talking directly to us was a big clue.
Kissy Missy’s death and the return of Huggy Wuggy:
In Chapter 3 Kissy Missy turned blue for a good moment when she first catches us before being stopped by Poppy in chapter 3. It was a very weird purposely lighting color change.
I strongly believe that this is Mob Games hinting at us that Kissy was going to get killed by Huggy Wuggy. He’s back, he never died. Huggy has always been stalking us since the beginning of chapter 1. He crawls through vents to peek at the player (most people don’t notice this detail while playing) In chapter 2 you can find his “Furr”and blood next to some vents and walls. In the end of chapter 3 You can clearly hear Huggy’s jumpscare/attack scream. Kissy was not designed to be dangerous as Huggy Wuggy. Huggy was designed to be a Security System, meant to kill and have those sharp teeth. I don’t think kissy can even emit a sound or even open her mouth. It’s a bit far stretched but could it be possible that Kissy’s body is going to be used by a badly injured Huggy, to get revenge against us when we least expect it in the next upcoming chapters? (This would explain Kissy Missy’s suspicious color shift)
Who is Ollie?:
A mysterious and very suspicious character that sometimes refers as “We” for some reason.
All of us think he’s a surviving kid, but the math doesn’t add up, in the present time, when chapter 3 takes place, he should be 18 years old or more. Then why does he sound like a child? The only explanation is that he is a child in a toy’s body as well. He’s been watching us ever since we turned on the power of the facility in chapter 1. Spying on us through the CCTV cameras we see all around the facility, Opening doors and vents for us. Even back when Huggy Wuggy first chases us through the vent, he was closing doors not to get us killed but to make sure we reached poppy.
In Poppy Playtime Chapter 2 poster shows us the hand of the prototype ‘controlling’ Mommy Long Legs, therefore telling us ‘The Prototype Has Control Over Everything’
"That shrine, did it scare you? If you thought that was terrifying just wait until you see the real thing!" Ollie is admitting that he himself has seen the Prototype. (Because he is part of it)
I strongly believe Ollie is a voice/soul part of the amalgamation of the Prototype.
[Edit: Ollie might be the “Security System” that Elliot Ludwig, in the first VSH tape in Chapter 1, was referring to. An Artificial Intelligence, AI, or soul of a child) with access to all the security systems of the facilities.]

Really don't think the protagonist is Sawyer. If it was, he'd have been dead by now. 1006 or CatNap would have killed him after recognizing him for all the hurt and torture he subjected them to. Frankly I'm pretty sure Sawyer is already dead, murdered by 1006.
Chapter 4 is gonna be huge, this theory only helps that notion.
And I don't mean in scale, though likely still.
You are raising good points, but I have a few problems with this theory:
1. To me, it seems like the cartoon only shows the fate of the actual smiling critters, meaning CatNap killed most of them and chained DogDay. I don't see much evidence that those would represent the children.
2. What interest would 1006 have in keeping the children down there? If he cared for them, he surely wouldn't want them to grow up sealed away from the outer word. I think it would be more plausible that the children were released after the hour of joy: Many people knew that Playtime Co. had an orphanage, so there might have been rescue attempts for them. To keep most of the rescuers from going into the facility, the children could have been let out to be directly rescued outside the facility.
3. I see it as improbable that the company saw a possibility for the children needing to be looked away in a bunker at the bottom of this elevator for *ten* years. Similarly, they also wouldn't have kept food for 10 years for 100(?) or more orphans down there. Than what were the children eating? Poppy only mentioned one food source, and I doubt there were enough employees to feed over 100 children for 10 years (with 3 meals a day, we would get to a total of over a million meals and that's not taking into account how much the toys need to eat). And even if there were, that makes the life in the shadows the children live even darker, thus strengthening my point 2.
Edit: Also (just a small correction), in the tape where CatNap says that the children are safe, we not only have to take CatNap's word for it, but also Miss Delight's, since she's repeating it. And since she already hallucinates Barb talking to her and she's just overall crazy, this might not have actually been said by CatNap.
Well, we don't know how the outside world would react to them. With Lilo and Stitch, it was different because Stitch could pass undercover as a disfigured dog.
The experiments could also hunt for food. As we saw Huggy Wuggy seduce an elk. Not to mention there are roaches and rodents that reside in the factory . .
@@goteamslugs I'm not saying the experiments were let out, we can still see many of them inside the factory, but rather that the children, who weren't converted into a toy yet, were let out. Those children would probably talk about their experiences in that orphanage, but must people would dismiss their sights of the living toys as people in a costume (as was common during that time in kids' TV shows)
You are right, I didn't consider the prototype haunting for more food. However, with the numbers I assumed earlier, he would need to capture one meal every 5 minutes if he were to do it the entire day. The other toys might help him, but people around the area would catch on their food being stolen, meaning the prototype would need to resort to wildlife.
We can estimate that, in order to live off of roaches, a human needs to eat 40 a day. With 100 children, we would already be at 4000 every day, and that for ten years. I don't think it's plausible, but maybe not impossible (though I am wondering what the roaches we see in the game are eating, maybe all the dead toys?)
Maybe the prototype also just setup some large farm to sustain the children, that might be a possibility.
It's not impossible to feed the children for ten years, but I don't think the prototype would do it due to these points.
Also, this whole time I'm saying children, but since some orphans already went to school, most of them would now be 16 or older, thus requiring roughly the same amount of food an adult would. But again, why would the prototype go through all this effort to let the children live their entire lives (they'll only naturally die in 70 years or so) in that bunker?

There may also be an occasional rat, mouse, or other rodent. Not much more filling than a roach - especially for the larger toys. Perhaps the Prototype would let them out once they turned eighteen? Very intriguing questions indeed . .
@@goteamslugs Oh, maybe the letter from chapter 1 was written by such an eighteen year old, who was let out. Poppy couldn't have written the letter in her case, but maybe one orphan found out about her (a bit similar to Theo finding out about the prototype). That would explain the spelling mistake, since they never got proper education after the hour of joy.
But that's just guessing.

Well, most of the toys only follow the prototype so they don’t get killed. So once the prototype is dead, they don’t have to worry anymore. The end goal isn’t for the toys to escape, it’s just for them to no longer be controlled by the prototype.

If the Cartoon Dogday is meant to foreshadow how we find him in Chapter 3, what if he's also meant to be himself rather than a stand in for the children. before Catnap arrives he's the only one to try and keep the others calm, which is inline with his character, but then why is Kicken Chicken cowering as well? according to his character he's "the cool kid of the crew, and he maintains that sense of cool through anything, even in the most tense of situations." yet in the cartoon he's no less afraid than the others.
I think Dogday was with the children during the Hour of Joy, or at least was in the Playcare during it. If the children were familiar enough with Catnap that they saw him as a friend and we know Playtime Co made the other Smiling Critters in the Bigger Bodies Initiative, then like how Mommy Long Legs worked in the Game Station the Critters probably worked in the Playcare. Finally we know that the Critters (with the Exseption of Catnap) resisted against the Prototype afterward, and when Poppy shows us The Hour of Joy VHS we only see the Mini Critters and Catnap attacking the Staff none of the others. So maybe they weren't part of the slaughter, i think they were hiding with the children and or trying to get them to safety.
Dogday in particular could've hidden with the Children, If the noises of The Hour of Joy was right outside then it would've been far to dangerous to try and move so they instead stayed put to avoid the slaughter and probably to prevent the Children from witnessing the horrific event, then Catnap appears and uses the gas to put them all to sleep.
This actually puts the the letter the protagonist gets at the start of chapter 1 into perspective and makes a lot of sense.
If the person who wrote the letter was being truthful then it indicates that this person was obviously a member of staff and they want us to find Poppy likely because they're allied with her and adding everything you mentioned here, especially with 1006 making it pretty clear he would rather the protagonist to just leave, even giving them multiple chances to do so makes it very unlikely he had anything to do with that letter.
And just to reiterate this but the protagonist, who is ex-staff, was lured back to the factory with this letter where they encounter and kill the original victims of this company who Poppy thinks of as obstacles, she calls Catnap this. She still isn't telling us everything either but considers it crucial that we're on her side which Ollie also makes that pretty clear, not really giving us any choice.
I've been saying this for awhile, I feel MOB is NOT taking the easy ending with us finding the kids alive. They're SAFE, nothing more nothing less. We'll have to see what 1006 counts as safe and what poppy would prefer as safe to figure out the actual antagonist of this storyline, espensive if thats us!
My theory: the Hour of Joy was at 11, and according to the schedule in the classroom, 11:00-11:45 was the kid's snack time. We haven't seen where the kids ate. We know the toys took the adult's bodies further into the facility to eat, which implies there's some kind of kitchen facility/meat processing equipment down there.
I think the kids have been locked in the cafeteria.
That's right in chapter 1 we do see a cafeteria closed off before we entered the main factory
@@titansboytc Could be that was the worker's cafeteria and there's a lower down one for the kids. Kind of seems silly to have all the kids go all the way to the top three times a day for meals.

Are the kids still alive now though? After 10 years? Where's the food and water coming from? Sure there are vending machines but after 10 years is the food really still edible after that? As for water did the kids drink from the pipes? Yeah there's a cafeteria in the factory but can anyone imagine a toy cooking for kids? Kids still need fresh food to survive and have a healthy life. I mean unless they also ate the staff members that were no longer alive? If that became the case.... welp it just got darker again. So either the kids are alive and most likely cannibals or not alive. I'm allowed to voice my opinion on this factor before anyone gets the idea to start an argument.
Yeah, the kids aren't alive. After all, the lack of food is why the Toys have turned on each other.

This is an interesting theory, but small issue... we know from the VHS and the emergency announcement that the hour of joy occurred exactly at 11am. So I doubt the clocks have much to do with it
The fact they are all stopped on the same time has to mean something, possibly the power was cut ?
@@wynterwolfrose228 But why almost a full hour before the event. They would have noticed the power being out. Also Kissy was still on transport at 10:45, so even shortly before the Hour of Joy there was energy.

@@wynterwolfrose228 I mean they could've shut the power down for a few minutes to prepare the hour of joy and the clocks just didn't go back on. In that time they could've positioned toys, freed looked up big bodies and put in sabotaged VHS tapes... But I honestly think the clocks simply died after years of unchanged batteries. As for symbolism, usually clock are pointend at 10:10 in commercial , because it makes the clockhands seem like a smile. So there where smiles all around you, just like they were smiling critters all around Chapter 3

There are space-related stuff in chapter 3
Like Hoppy Hopscotch's cutout board telling to jump to the moon, DogDay in Astronaut suit as well his cutout sounds regarding fetch, run far and why you standing there, and Bobby Bearhug has one dialogue in her cutout board something with love you back to moon, or something like that.
There is perhaps a connection between the three smiling critters we're not seeing or given there's jetpack prototype waiting around somewhere, we may get to use this kind of stuff in chapter 4 soon to that space theme we've being teased about, alongside with that amusement park.
Perhaps there are smiling criters that escaped into the hatch as well, the 'home' which you can compare in VHS tape of smiling critters episode with the storm outside.
I honestly think Hoppy Hopscotch could be Ollie. The green name text is very specific if you ask me. I think they wanted Ollie to be Kickin Chicken at first and then changed it to be Hoppy. If you go back and listen to the original voice of ollie I can't remember the name, it literally says he's still kicking and laughs. I don't think they're done with the smiling critters left.

I've been wondering why catnap didn't kill Poppy when he could instead of putting her in a cage? If poppy really is a heretic, like dog day and the rest of the smiling critters (the big ones), why didn't he put her in the same place as dog day? What's the purpose of letting her live knowing the threat she might mean... I find that really interesting
I also think the kids that survived wrote the letter we get in the 1st chapter, and I would also believe they're cooperating with Poppy to be saved
I'm pretty willing to accept the theory that the thunderstorm in the VHS was meant to represent the Hour of Joy, but I have to point out that the actual event didn't take place at a little past 10. The Kissy Missy VHS on Mob's youtube channel and the emergency broadcast VHS in chapter 3 both suggest it having taken place at exactly 11am.
A non-diegetic reason behind all the clocks having frozen at the same time is likely just that the developers simply reused the same asset a couple times, but if we want a reason that makes sense in-game, maybe Catnap or one of the other toys deliberately set the clocks to that time? The type of clock we see hanging all around Playcare usually run on batteries, not an outside power source (I'd know, we had near-identical clocks in my old elementary school), and I highly doubt that all of the batteries happened to die at the exact same time. What I also noticed is that it's not just the hour and minute hands that are identical, the hands for _seconds_ are also the same across all the clocks, sitting at the 8. No matter how identically you might set your clocks, there's no way all the clocks in the facility happened to be at the exact same _second_ when they died. Which leaves us with two possible options:
- It doesn't really matter, the developers just reused the same clock asset a bunch of times and we're not really supposed to notice that they're all set to the same time
- Catnap or one of the other toys deliberately set the clocks to that specific time (either taking the batteries out before doing so, or waiting until they naturally ran out) for a currently unknown reason.
It could even be a combination of those two options

My heart is still broken for Catnap, I don't think he deserved his ending, to be experimented on (albeit probably was a way to save his life). I definitely caught onto the hints you mentioned in this one, and the elevator would make perfect sense. Since seeing the end of Chapter 3, I've been pretty sold on the fact that we HAVE to be finding the labs next chapter, and it makes sense that they're hidden from any prying eyes. Plus, wasn't there a letter re: installing labs underground? I could be mistaken and thinking of the note from Dr Wayson re: adding windows w/ lights behind them for daylight effect. I still don't think Poppy is inherently evil, but I'm always happy to listen to your theories. Your work and dedication to it is incredible.
you know. i still would like to know why catnap locked the teachers in the schoolhouse. many of them theorize its because they were a threat to the children, based on his convo with the one miss delight. but im not too convinced. mostly because it doesnt seem like miss delight was a deranged killer when he initially locked them away. and this recording took place after he released her.
sure, that could still be the case and the reason he unlocked them when he did was because all the children were rounded up. but still, id wish we had gotten something a bit more concrete

Here is a fun theory for you, Tericho, since you've mentioned your psych degree before. We can look at the prototype as someone with DID/multiple personality. Why view it this way? Well there's a bunch of theory videos speculating Ollie is the prototype. Ollie talks to us using the phone. How/why did catnap contact us over the phone for that one line of dialogue? Was it is catnap over the phone, or a voice imitation? This is where DID comes in. Similar to how we don't know Poppy's intentions with us being "perfect" and needing us to help her, we don't truly know Ollie's intentions. If the catnap phone dialogue was just an imitation, that's a personality separate from Ollie-- that being if Ollie and the prototype are the same entity/person.

It's actually not unheard of for abandoned buildings to still have power for a multitude of reasons! I've seen plenty of videos where urban explorers go poking around and finding out they can still turn on lights, computers, etc. My guess is the power supply may not have been disconnected for one reason or another, or maybe the toys or the prototype managed to hook it up themselves. Sometimes lights are left on in abandon buildings to try and deter vandals and thieves too, and considering there's probably a lot of documentation on the horrific experiments they were doing in the bowels of the factory, I can definitely see whoever owns the building rn not wanting to chance anyone finding those.

And I like your theory about the orphans being alive and I have to agree with you on that, theres more clues leading to the orphans surviving than being killed from just chapter two alone, let alone chapter 3. I wonder what kind of climax we are going to get from chapter 4, which is looking like maybe the final game???

Y’know how at the end of all the smiling critters cardboard cutouts there’s a static-like scream? I think that the clue to how all of them died is in their voice lines. The only one I have for sure ( or at least I think so ) is hoppy hopscotch. She told us not to look down at where we would land, them shortly after, there was static. She must’ve not looked where she was gonna land and fell to her doom. ( idk lol )

One thing im wondering is, how did miss delight knew we came back for our coworkers, if we never talk is the game? We have the note at the beginning of chapter 1 that tells us that they are still alive, but how would Miss Delight know, by extention CatNap knowing from notes that they share information and also Poppy knows simce she has 1 line that says "you came back foe your coworkers". Im pretty sure mommy also said something about that but i dont remember what exactly, but its odd that even tho the note was from someone that probably was in hiding from Prototype, yet every toy that talks at least knows why we are there.
If the orphans weren’t turned into toys, then I wonder if they aren’t being killed off by the toys as they become adults because the toys can’t tell that an adult orphan is still the same orphan.

Yes, and in the chapter 2 and 3 trailers, it was Mommy who pulled Huggy away and not the prototype. In another trailer, Huggy's plushy was intact, not like Mommy's. And so far we've clearly seen everyone die but not Huggy.

Unless it started at 10 and that's how long it took the company to respond. I think the hour of joy likely took more than an actual hour. I bet some staff managed to survive by hiding for days, maybe even weeks. Maybe 11 was the time they managed to get the alert out, but the actual attack started at 10. After all, the kids were probably put to sleep pretty early on in the process.
In fact think about it, what are the chances someone got an alert out within 1 minute? The staff looked pretty overwhelmed by it.

@@Tericho 10 can be possible but one of the tapes in the Counselor's Office opposes this, "11:01 EST" the time when there's a discovery of a hostile force and following Kissy's relocation at exactly 11 there was a build up already a not long after Kissy was freed in around 11:14

Also when I saw the Mob Ent. Music Video I was wondering what you would think of it! I saw Aeroza react to it and piece together who that shadow was with Hoppy. The silhouette matches super well with that doctor! Idk if it matters a whole lot tho, as it would only hint towards who that small, mini Smiling Critters was. Also it could’ve just been the doctor looking through the glass to observe Hoppy, although it wouldn’t make much sense.
I feel neither Poppy's nor 1006's side is "evil". based on theory 1006 made a false promise to give the toys freedom which seems bad, but (theory) he wants to burn down the whole factory and free the souls rather than the physical toys knowing that the toys can never be free (also adding onto the idea that 1006 is a person who feels bad for the children). On the other hand, Poppy wants to keep us here to help free the toys and continue 1006's original promise however, she can't do it on her own considering almost everyone is on 1006's side except for the few 'heretics" who realize 1006 true intentions. Neither intentions are "evil" it's just a matter of physically setting the toys free OR setting their souls free. But this is still all theory! I'm just waiting for chapter 4 to come out so we can really know what's happening.

The prototype only came back to save Theo to make him a subordinate he cared more about revenge than escape if he really cared about Theo he wouldn’t have killed him at the end of the chapter.
Theo was gonna die anyway after being electrocuted by the player. If you watch the scene closely, it looks like a mercy killing. 1006 reaches his hand down and at first Theo seems scared, but when 1006 turns his hand (so his palm faces up, in a peaceful gesture), Theo kneels and opens his arms wide, offering himself. Only at this point does 1006, strike, and he makes it quick. He waits for Theo to be ready. Theo doesn't even reach out for 1006's hand to help him get up or anything like that - he just offers himself. For all we know, 1006 could have actually reached down to help Theo, because usually when you face your palm upwards at someone who's down, it's because you're offering them your hand to take. Instead, Theo doesn't reach out to 1006, but opens his arms in offering, so 1006 obliges.

@@connormarchand6302 the way DogDay was treated absolutely doesn't conflict with anything I said. DogDay didn't get a mercy killing because 1. He was against 1006, 2. He was almost definitely ex-staff. 1006 cares for the children, but is aggressive towards staff, as with all the toys. So it absolutely makes sense for 1006 to be kind with Theo whilst letting the toys have a field day torturing an ex-staff
Dog day could've been staff in charge of helping Theo (at first being great friends) but like any friend with any seemingly toxic or dangerous relationship/situation, tried to warn theo/catnap and... well.. like most friendships, it didn't go well. Catnap chose prototype, for better or worse we don't quite know, but dogday could be both hero and villain in this story and serves as a warning: standing idly is evil, doing harm was evil, and despite his desperation for peace NOW, his indifference THEN costs him his life now.
Catnap saw both situations for what they were, his best friends, who also suffered and are inflicting suffering, are not much different than the exp that saved his life instead of escaping. Both have done harm, but while one sat idly being complicit, the other plotted to end it. For catnap, it was only black and white from there. He chose 1006 bc 1006 had a plan to stop the staff, maybe dogday had the age old "time will heal" approach or "it always gets better, we have to survive and do what we're told" deal. Catnap refused a moment more of complicity. Plain and simple. If doomed to a life of indentured servitude, might as well serve a purpose rather than a profit.
By no means was it an easy choice but it was black and white for catnap, hence the unwavering loyalty.

There… is something that might mean something or might just be nothing but I feel like it’s worth mentioning. While I feel like you’re right on the money with the cartoon connections, there is still one like at the end of the recall report that throws them being safe into question: “Your children are not safe with Catnap.” Like, that’s *so* on the nose that I feel like it could mean they’re not really safe.

I think the player was only experimenting on kids who were extremely sick or on the brink of death, because there were so many opportunities for CatNap to kill him but CatNap kept warning him maybe he was grateful for him saving his life in the past.
The children could be the following.
1: Used as food.
2: Turned into followers or replacement staff.
3: Turned into toys like Poppy.
4: Set free shortly after that hour through where the other toys aren't aware of.

I dont think huggy is alive yes the chomp sound effect definitely sounded like him, but there was no other foot steps when kissy was moving around i think its more possible if maybe the smaller critters attacked her or maybe dogday started attacking and climbing on her.
Yes, also Kissy was shown to be practically identical to Huggy, even having the double set of sharp teeth that Huggy had. So it's possible Kissy Missy could also make the chomping sounds.

I feel one of the key things people are forgetting about the idea of the children still living is that the Prototype, as well as the other toys, can get in and out of the factory easily. There was a ARG tape before Chapter 3 that showed Huggy escaping easily - as a distraction for the Prototype. It's not known who did the murder of the kid on the estate in the Player's first dream, but it's implied the Prototype could get out easily of his cell in the Chapter 3 ARG - and it's highly possible he can get food for the orphans easily, whether through him going out to get them, or the other Bigger Body Toys fetching food for them. It's highly possible that the Prototype would be able to fetch them food, at the cost of starving the other toys.

Very interesting realization with the cartoon. It definitely would make sense that all the Orphans probably had their consciences put into the toys since it has been a pretty long time since anyone had been in this factory. All I know for sure is that there are going to be some crazy reveals when we get to Ch 4

That's what the alert claims, but we've already seen how Kissy Missy's tape was completely tampered with. What if it started at 10 but the cameras were hacked? The security only realised by 11. By then it was far too late.
