I'm so excited to share this video about my hometown with you. Celebration, Florida had been my home for about 12 years, it's the real reason why my parents decided to move to Florida. In this video I 'expose' or tell you the truth about living and growing up in Disney's perfect town. Is Celebration all that & more? Watch and you'll find out. Disney did have a part in starting/developing this town, but soon stopped all affiliation. Celebration seems like such a cool place to live as a kid

I come from a very poor background when I was a kid and my ultimate life goal is to live there, Thank you for this video, seems like the perfect place to live. Every once in a while I cruise around there to look around.
That’s a good goal but trust me there’s a lot of people who live there that really can’t afford it. I had family in celebration back in 99 I’ve seen a ton of foreclosures

That part of Florida is getting vicious .. and the volcanos are erupting so that area probably won’t be the best place to go
You should look up Discovery Bay in Hong Kong. I grew up there in the 2000s and it is very similar to how Celebration sounds! Very small place built by a resort company with golf carts as the main form of transport, lots of community events and local management overseeing the grounds and keeping it looking nice. Very much a bubble and known as a rich/brat area and it has arguably lost its small feel as it’s expanded. I loved living there, it was a very idyllic childhood!

This is so cool! I wouldn’t like neighbors complaining about how my yard looks. Of course, we would always keep it neat. It doesn’t sound weird. I live on Long Island (NY) and people turn their garages, basements into apartments. Some house are Mother daughter houses (split houses). My aunt had one and they turned the back of it into an apartment, when the couple moved out it just became the den and back room area. It was cool to see pictures of your home, thank you for sharing 😊☺️

I remember you and your patents! My name is Dona Harrell, my daughters, Colleen and Mallory, were active in community and school theatre there. We left right around the same time you do as did many others. I have very fond memories of Celebration and am so happy we lived there when we did. I was a single mom, aleus struggling to make ends meet but I still loved it.

It seems like an interesting place to visit but I'm not sure if I'd want to live there.
They’re expensive now... most homes there doubled, evened quadrupled in price from they original sale price.
So the people who got to buy there were very LUCKY.. they weren’t rich.
Never had to do with financial status.
This girl is actually a great example.. she wouldn’t have even been able to afford college if her parents weren’t lucky enough to end up with so much equity. I say lucky cause at first, tons of the homes had problems, and word was out about how dysfunctional the place actually was, so prices weren’t really on the up n’ up ... LUCKILY they got things figured out, kept it pristine, and values skyrocketed.

Golden Oak actually is not technically on Disney property. The separated it out, legally, just like they did with Celebration.

The HOA laws there are the most strict laws I ever read in my life.. One of them you can get fined for smoking in your front lawn. You can smoke in your backyard just not the front..

I heard that the theater is closed because someone paid to keep it closed. Do you know of that story and if it is true why are they doing that? Thanks for the vlog btw it gives more insight into the mysterious Celebration.

I remember I was on a field trip and th see was If he schools there and we met some people and they asked us where we were from and we said celebration and then that got all mad and called us cellabrats and they blamed the f inenacncle struggles on us for some reasion. Strange

It would be really nice living so close to Disney. I’m a big theme parks fan but I’m a hour from Disney and that sucks. I do love history and old homes but I’d be willing to set that aside to be close to Disney. I do absolutely hate HOA’s though.....

@@jessicawatson7360 Home owners association, that's when you are required to pay a fee to live in that area. Hoa's have a lot of restrictions and rules you must follow. It's both good and bad, it keeps your homes value up but you lose freedoms and can be fined or even banned from the neighborhood if you don't follow their guidelines.

I have that same rotary phone :) I inherited mine after my grandma mamie passed away. Have you ever seen the Truman Show? Celebration gives me that vibe, it just seems like the wholesomeness and beauty is so manufactured, I heard the birds chirping is like speakers in some of the trees.

I’ve been looking into moving to Florida. We are huge Disney fans so naturally we would want to be close. I assumed that only Disney fans would choose to buy in celebration. Why would anyone who’s not into Disney want to live there? Or am I way off on that? 😊 I’ve been looking at homes and found many in our price range (mid $300’s). That’s not super expensive. Now Golden Oaks... that’s for lottery winners. Interesting video, thanks for sharing.

I grew up in kissimmee from 2001-2015 and many kids from celebration went to my high school (GHS) for the IB program . They were known as the rich kids at my school. They rezoned a bunch of kids from lower economic neighborhoods (from kissimmee) who were zoned for osceola high to integrate to celebration. My aunt was so happy that her children didnt have to go to the "poor school" and her children would be around upper class children (Her words not mine).
