As a single woman with no kids I have to agree. I have had my female friends, ironically more married women than single women, borrow money from me many many times and honestly I started to realize it was mostly for things that didn't even matter. I finally just stopped because there's just no way you're going to use money that I work for to go shopping. Life is way too unpredictable. I don't even blow my own money so I'm definitely not about to let somebody else do it for me. I guess people think when you don't have kids that you don't need or want the money you went to work for.

This right here. I’m A single woman with no children, and multiple married women have asked me for money. These requests are not small, they’ve been multiple thousands at a time. What a shame. I have multiple streams of income with a savings rate of 35% of my income.
It doesn't matter. People borrow from whomever will give it. I have adult kids plus raising a grandson but family members borrow. Now it's time to pay back and nobody is paying. All are close relatives like my kids, nieces, and a nephew. I have repeatedly asked for it back but they won't repay.

Same here. I got into the Dave Ramsey plan, became disciplined, paid off my debt and paid off mortgage and car in April 2020. What I started to do, I stopped going on vacation, stopped buying wants, stopped buying clothes, budgeted for groceries, used the envelope cash system, and I started to coupon - but only coupons for items that I actually need. It does feel nice!

I only been shopping for food. I stopped buying clothes 4 years ago. I drive my Mercedes I had since 2013. She still runs and look new. Got rid of cable early this year and stopped my membership at the gym. Oh yes….i been on the game for a while. I don’t buy designer brands…my daughter work for a company….shes a buyer for them…so I got the info what go down. I’m retired and I’m going to stay retired (state government). I've been cooking my own food for 33yrs & I treat myself to eat out once a month. I raised my kids on home-cooked meals & when they ate McDonald's or other fast food, they were in heaven.😂 You save more money when you cook at home because you can go back for leftovers. I've also done my own hair for the same amount of years, whether it was a wig, extensions, braids, or styling my own hair. I've saved so much money doing that! I've been in an apt for five years since I moved out of state & sold my house. I'm not in a rush to buy a house for at least another 4yrs. I had to buy a car last year, due to my transmission going out on my old car. I will not be buying another car once I pay this one off in 3yrs! My family is always telling me I should be a financial advisor because I'm definitely the budget queen!😂
I don’t normally eat at McDonald’s. But I stopped there this morning to get 2 hash browns and a cup of coffee. My total was about $6.00. 🤯 and they had the nerve to ask me if I wanted to round up. Heck no.
From my experience I heard other people's cars whose transmissions went out and it's usually happens to American made vehicles. I'm all about buying American but hopefully you bought a foreign vehicle.
I’ve started tracking my spending for the past 2 years and I’m doing better with prioritizing needs over wants. I’m going to set my intention to do a “Low Spend Year” next year and that’s only buying basic necessities (with a few exceptions) and plan to save, invest, and pay off my car next year. I’m also doing a no spend for 2024. The goal for me is to only purchase items on a list I’m creating. For example, buying myself a birthday less than $200.

Even if you mess up one day, get right back the next. Don’t use one slip up to justify quitting. I haven’t been successful at all yet lol BUT I have been spending wayyy LESS. Progress.

I'm the exception to the statement that Tony made. I'm a single Latina woman with no kids. I live below my means. I own a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom single detached house in southern Cali. I have 6 months' worth of emergency savings. I have no debt except my house. I have mutual funds retirement plans, roth 403B, 457 acct, and a regular 403b. I think I've done pretty well. Sorry sis, why didn't the "spirit" PRESS this message to you 2 years ago? Right after the subprime housing loan scandal nearly bankrupted the entire country banks started issuing subprime car loans. That stuck people with $700 to $1,500 per month payments and they ended up owing TWICE as much as the car is worth. The Federal Reserve kept raising interest rates to fight inflation and to keep folks from making unwise purchases. But businesses and people just kept borrowing even at higher interest rates and would NOT stop spending. So, 2 years ago the Fed issued new banking rules, Basel III Endgame, which go into effect January 1st 2024 that make it harder for people and small businesses to get credit. The limit on their cards will be CUT to force them to spend less. That will make their credit score DROP (because their debt-to-income ratio went up) which will make it harder for them to get new cards, new loans, and buy cars.
You are 1000% right We (Black Americans) consume more than we invest. We transfer the money we earn in to stuff that loose value. Instead of investment that appreciate in value. • White folks and Asians buy luxury items from the profits of their investments. Not their income. Saving 20% of our income 1st forces us to live on 80%. This is the key for building financial security on a modest income.
I love my mom but she tried to make me feel bad for not buying Christmas gifts. First of all I don’t have the money and second of all if I did I would be saving it or buying food and gas. She goes into debt every year buying gifts. I don’t want to be the way. I want to be smart with my money!

I don't wear name brand, nothing. I stopped that in junior high school. I drive a nissan 200000 miles with maintenance kept up. I live with and take care of my mother. I'm investing in me. I have grown kids who I told they are on their own. I take care of my dog, and he's like a kid. I pray constantly for grace and guidance. Whoa, this could be the message I've been searching for. Today, I contemplated opting for a luxury apartment at $2k per month for a 2-bed 2-bath, while just down the street, a non-luxury 3-bedroom 2-bath is available for $1200 per month. I initially knew that the 3-bed option was the right choice, but my desires were taking the lead. Despite having tours scheduled for two luxury apartments today, I believe this might be the confirmation I need to reconsider spending nearly $2400 for a luxury apartment-it might not be the most prudent decision.
Everything happens for a reason, you can pocket that extra $1200/m and maybe even turn that 3rd room into a peerspace unit if you're in the market for that to make sense. 🙏🏿

The way I'm having more than I have ever had yet this is exactly what I feel that God has been saying to me for the past year and a half. When my scat pack got stolen, I felt nothing because I knew God wanted to simplify my life. I had another car that is paid off and I couldn't do anything but smile because I know it was all God. It's been getting more and more simple. I've dropped so many things even tho I have access to more. God is doing a thing. This message is ON TIME!

I did a bingo challenge Jan 23 until now and it has definitely paid off. I also did a no spend in January this year and I saved so much as well. It made me realize how much unnecessary spending I was doing. I will do these two again in 2024

A couple years ago I announced to friends and family that I’m not doing gifts for Christmas and birthdays anymore. I’ve been doing my own hair (and looking a mess) Choosing to buy groceries in bulk to meal prep has saved me money AND I’ve lost weight. And I’ll say that this message is almost identical to a couple prophets who put this out earlier this year.

I just bought my first home this year & my first car from a dealership. I usually buy my cars out cash but I was put in a very tight situation where I absolutely HAD to buy a car so I couldn't wait to save up the money for a cash car. I was paying almost 2000 in rent & realized that I was building someone else's wealth while struggling to do so, so I tried to make a better move & buy a home. I'm a single mother of 3 & I take care of my mother so things have been super tight lately but I'm going to find a way to turn things around. Wise teachings. I live in the Caribbean Trinidad and Tobago and it's the same. Government around the world have cut back on spending and are not working in the best interest of citizens. They also want to increase the retirement age. Taxes, cost of living are increasing dramatically.

I used to buy luxury brands but I have nothing to prove. I treated my family an expensive dinner and it will be the last for some time to come.
I appreciate the message, but as a black male who grew up in poverty, I've always been in a recession. If you live anywhere like Chicago, you better buy a car if you need one, especially if you have children. You gotta do what you gotta do in this corrupted world that revolves around nothing but money. Put God first, stay praying, and everything will work itself out.

As a single woman with no kids I have to agree. I have had my female friends, ironically more married women than single women, borrow money from me many many times and honestly I started to realize it was mostly for things that didn't even matter. I finally just stopped because there's just no way you're going to use money that I work for to go shopping. Life is way too unpredictable. I don't even blow my own money so I'm definitely not about to let somebody else do it for me. I guess people think when you don't have kids that you don't need or want the money you went to work for.

It doesn't matter. People borrow from whomever will give it. I have adult kids plus raising a grandson but family members borrow. Now it's time to pay back and nobody is paying. All are close relatives like my kids, nieces, and a nephew. I have repeatedly asked for it back but they won't repay.

Same here. I got into the Dave Ramsey plan, became disciplined, paid off my debt and paid off mortgage and car in April 2020. What I started to do, I stopped going on vacation, stopped buying wants, stopped buying clothes, budgeted for groceries, used the envelope cash system, and I started to coupon - but only coupons for items that I actually need. It does feel nice!

I only been shopping for food. I stopped buying clothes 4 years ago. I drive my Mercedes I had since 2013. She still runs and look new. Got rid of cable early this year and stopped my membership at the gym. Oh yes….i been on the game for a while. I don’t buy designer brands…my daughter work for a company….shes a buyer for them…so I got the info what go down. I’m retired and I’m going to stay retired (state government). You save more money when you cook at home because you can go back for leftovers. I've also done my own hair for the same amount of years, whether it was a wig, extensions, braids, or styling my own hair. I've saved so much money doing that!
I've been in an apt for five years since I moved out of state & sold my house. I'm not in a rush to buy a house for at least another 4yrs. I had to buy a car last year, due to my transmission going out on my old car. I will not be buying another car once I pay this one off in 3yrs! From my experience I heard other people's cars whose transmissions went out and it's usually happens to American made vehicles. I'm all about buying American but hopefully you bought a foreign vehicle.
I’ve started tracking my spending for the past 2 years and I’m doing better with prioritizing needs over wants. I’m going to set my intention to do a “Low Spend Year” next year and that’s only buying basic necessities (with a few exceptions) and plan to save, invest, and pay off my car next year. I’m also doing a no spend for 2024. The goal for me is to only purchase items on a list I’m creating. For example, buying myself a birthday less than $200.

Sorry sis, why didn't the "spirit" PRESS this message to you 2 years ago? Right after the subprime housing loan scandal nearly bankrupted the entire country banks started issuing subprime car loans. That stuck people with $700 to $1,500 per month payments and they ended up owing TWICE as much as the car is worth. The Federal Reserve kept raising interest rates to fight inflation and to keep folks from making unwise purchases. But businesses and people just kept borrowing even at higher interest rates and would NOT stop spending.
So, 2 years ago the Fed issued new banking rules, Basel III Endgame, which go into effect January 1st 2024 that make it harder for people and small businesses to get credit. The limit on their cards will be CUT to force them to spend less. That will make their credit score DROP (because their debt-to-income ratio went up) which will make it harder for them to get new cards, new loans, and buy cars.

I have grown kids who I told they are on their own. I take care of my dog, and he's like a kid. I pray constantly for grace and guidance. Whoa, this could be the message I've been searching for. Today, I contemplated opting for a luxury apartment at $2k per month for a 2-bed 2-bath, while just down the street, a non-luxury 3-bedroom 2-bath is available for $1200 per month.
I initially knew that the 3-bed option was the right choice, but my desires were taking the lead. Despite having tours scheduled for two luxury apartments today, I believe this might be the confirmation I need to reconsider spending nearly $2400 for a luxury apartment-it might not be the most prudent decision.
Everything happens for a reason, you can pocket that extra $1200/m and maybe even turn that 3rd room into a peerspace unit if you're in the market for that to make sense. 🙏🏿

The way I'm having more than I have ever had yet this is exactly what I feel that God has been saying to me for the past year and a half. When my scat pack got stolen, I felt nothing because I knew God wanted to simplify my life. I had another car that is paid off and I couldn't do anything but smile because I know it was all God. It's been getting more and more simple. I've dropped so many things even tho I have access to more. God is doing a thing. This message is ON TIME!

I did a bingo challenge Jan 23 until now and it has definitely paid off. I also did a no spend in January this year and I saved so much as well. It made me realize how much unnecessary spending I was doing. I will do these two again in 2024

I just bought my first home this year & my first car from a dealership. I usually buy my cars out cash but I was put in a very tight situation where I absolutely HAD to buy a car so I couldn't wait to save up the money for a cash car. I was paying almost 2000 in rent & realized that I was building someone else's wealth while struggling to do so, so I tried to make a better move & buy a home. I'm a single mother of 3 & I take care of my mother so things have been super tight lately but I'm going to find a way to turn things around. You are right, things are about to get very ugly. Make all the money you possibly can, save and invest majority, spend at the very minimum.
Another thing i realized is being everyone’s bail out, or saving people all the time has gotta come to an end in a time where i have to focus more on protecting capital myself.
Those shoes, clothes, jewelry, trips on pause for a few. Things are about to get real bad, and being a full time futures trader - just looking at the stock charts alone you can tell a big drop is incoming!

Wow! I prayed yesterday and asked for guidance as it relates to money. I wanted to be a better steward of the money God blesses me with and I wanted to get more focused with starting a business and planning for retirement. Then here comes Tony with this message. My boyfriend of 8 yrs had real estate , and over 40 vehicles in what he called his “fleet”. Someone owed him $2 million & he took him to court and lost. He’d never lost anything as far as I remember- and he died of a heart attack 3 mos ago. It was the 💰.

I stopped shopping after I quit working retail in 2021. 😂 I cut the gym, the storage, the cable, and lunch & dinners out. Dining out is a treat.

Now that's the real flex. I set a goal beginning of this year to pay of cc and I have reached that goal. I have too much stuff don't need nothing. I see friends and family taking excessive trips because they want to live their "best life" all I say, is enjoy! bon voyage! don't comeback looking for a bailout, that's what the banks are for. God give us warnings my daughter and I were just discussing how Bath and Body Works have sales everyday for someone suppose to be going out of business and you just said it yourself how these business will begin to send all these ads and promotions. All praises to the Most High God Yah for this confirmation. I went to the mall tonight and looked and said to myself there is nothing in here worth this much of my money. I used to buy luxury brands but I have nothing to prove. I treated my family an expensive dinner and it will be the last for some time to come.

I appreciate the message, but as a black male who grew up in poverty, I've always been in a recession. If you live anywhere like Chicago, you better buy a car if you need one, especially if you have children. You gotta do what you gotta do in this corrupted world that revolves around nothing but money. Put God first, stay praying, and everything will work itself out.
