  • Compostable containers are everywhere these days, with the promise that they are eco-friendly and good for the planet. Many manufacturers of these containers claim they will decompose naturally after a certain period of time. Do they really, or is it just marketing hype?
To test their claims I did an experiment on a container manufactured by World Centric made of "compostable plant fiber". It "turns to soil in 90 days" according to the claim on the container.
Check out the video to see what happened!

I searched this video up because I wanted to see if it’s true.

It either needs to be in active compost such as a hot composting system or in the soil (as in live soil with worms) not in a pot.
Also you're meant to tear it up really for it to decompose in 90 days
