We unpack with Investec Bank Economist Sandra Horsfield and Bloomberg's Senior Executive Editor for Macro Markets Simon Kennedy. We also discuss the latest blow to the reputation of the London Stock Exchange, as TUI plans to abandon its UK listing. "Bloomberg UK" focuses on the biggest economic, financial and political issues facing Britain. The program goes beyond the market moves with expert analysis and top interviews from the heart of London.

Consider the prices are increasing by 4% every year. Then by the end of 5 years, something which had cost 100, would now cost 121. That's how compounding increases the effect over the years.

Chinese 🇨🇳 property sector, which accounts for 30% of GDP, is crashing.
    - Exports and imports, accounting for 37% GDP, are down.
    - Foreign investment is falling over 90% compared to its peak in 2018.
    - Foreign visitors are down 96% compared to the pre-pandemic level in 2019.
    - Consumer prices are experiencing deflation.
    - Youth unemployment hits over 21%, a record.
    - Its fast-shrinking workforce is 10 years older than neighboring countries.
*Still, China keeps reporting outrageous GDP numbers.* Lol

@@arpanabinaswar1811 While it's very hard for China to slip into recession. It's likely that China is overhyping its economic growth even before pre-pandemic time. And it's mainly due to the way China notes its GDP. At the start of the financial they gives a target to every province that they have to grow up to certain level. If it didn't happen, most likely that province leader will come into CCP's bad books and likely won't get ticket for the next election. At the end of the year province will send their economic output to CCP. And of course no province will send less than what they had as their target by manipulating figures, spending money more than required(since GDP includes spending done by govt.
If any country conduct its GDP like that, their would be false no., as no one wants to lose power.

Hugh Grosvenor is worth £9 billion and owns huge parts of London, simply because one of his ancestors took it or was awarded it a few centuries ago. The aristocracy needs to have their lands taken back and redistributed amongst the people. Actually as the Britons were originally Celtic people, the lands of the UK should be redistributed amongst the Scots, Irish and Welsh.
