Primitive Saddle Challenge! Ark Survival Ascended: Alpha Manticore

- Building a boss fighting army can be one of the most daunting experiences in the game. The Ark is unforgiving; failure will cost you everything. So, I want to provide you with information that helps you assess whether or not your own army is up to the job.
Alpha Manticore felt too easy in our last encounter, so I'm going back, but with primitive saddles only, no Yuty and no otter. How hard can it be?
Standard rexes in use, 20k health, 800-1000% melee depending on the breeding line and saddles with only 25 armour.

Easy! Interestingly I've not seen many rexes in my time on scorched - I wonder which scorched native may be the best for this fight, other than wyverns.

Good question... megalosaurus are also native to scorched and I'm working on an army of those.
Manticore's damage reduction is a bit different to other bosses (I think) and I wonder if that opens up another option like arthropleura.
I've not yet seen a faso worth taming, but I'm open to it.
I accidentally killed a 150 a couple of days ago while hunting alpha death worms.

The yuty buff will make it easier than in this video as no yuty was used when I went in.

Is this on official servers? Also i want to try to do this in my server but someone said to me that she will never land and that i need wyverns...
This is my own server.
She does have some issues with landing and some times it will take longer than others. But I've never had her not land for the entire fight.
Need to see server settings. Is this 1x (official) settings? Is this singleplayer settings? Etc.
Single player settings, no other boosts. Difficulty level 5, so max wild dino level is 150.
Some other tweaks to allow better and bigger platform saddles and also so that I can feed the titanosaur. It was such a fuss to tame, I didn't want to lose it.
@@ZedsArk intriguing...it seems the community has overstated the importance of armor (and by extension HP) for this fight. Curious how such 20k primmy rexes/theriz fare against the islands bosses....
I agree... Manticore felt easy in Evolved, too, despite being the only boss required for ascension.
I am also curious about primitive saddles on the Island and will try it out. I think megapithicus will be easy, spider might kill some of my megatherium and I'm dubious about whether dragon will be possible. The veggie cakes may save the day.
These rexs are pretty decent in terms of melee damage, but given how little the were hurt, I think the fight would be possible with a fair amount less.

You may survive gamma and beta bosses on the island without good saddles, but most probably this is not gonna work for Alpha. You can’t even take unmutated creatures to the alpha bosses (except if you are using the Singleplayer setting)
@@LaRvae01y false, the Manticore has always been weak, on Official people are using a few rexe's and shotties, or 10 lightening Wyverns. What everyone hoped was they added another ascension boss to SE. The manticore never did damage it did torpo.
Does it works with 35k hp rex -450-500 % damage and primitive saddle ?
Almost double the health, and just over half the damage of my rexes... if it's a full 20 rexes or 19 and a yuty, I'd say so.
