Roland Martin shows his true colors with this "interview". This is one of the problems of our community: the disconnect of our youth with elders. Roland had an opportunity to support a young brother, who obviously is working for the betterment of his community but because of Roland's blind loyal patriotism to the democratic party he absolutely alienated himself from a young person who is doing the work. This was painful to watch. Roland was so fixated on the semantics of "staying out of the government" when it was obvious that King meant he was helping young men to be more autonomous and less DEPENDENT on the government for hand outs. King is doing concrete actions to help/empower young men in his community and Roland is wasting everyone's time, picking at nonsense, etc. Roland could've used his platform more effectively to promote, elevate and support King rather than try to destroy him. Umar has a vision of a school also and by all accounts has purchased a building and campus which isn't up and running yet. He has faced all kinds of scrutiny and faced questions of accountability probably fairly and in some cases unfairly. He doesn't yet have a school per so although this is something which his organization is currently in the process of working to raise funds for. His desire and plan is to open a boarding school for boys which is much along the lines of what Umar has been working towards, although Umar has purchased an actual facility at this point, though not yet in operation.
If you have more information regarding the progress or fruition of this young man's school now existing or coming further along than what I have noted, please share without giving too much information..

Well no more Roland for me! I just met this young man 2 weeks ago and he is genuine. Started a successful business at 21. He unlike Roland didn’t just talk the talk but he walked, nice, polite and his boys and parents love him. 🤦🏾♀️ I get what Roland was trying to do..... Roland was trying to show this young man how what he is doing will link him to government but Roland went about it in the wrong way or in too harsh of a manner. The way Roland did it, made it seems as if they were both focused on 2 different things/issues but Roland wanted to show him that eventhough King wants to do for himself by having a private entity, government will still play a part in his private entity. Roland just did that too firmly and made it seems as if he was attacking him which I do not believe was Rolands' intention. This young man on the other hand wanted to only speak about his mission, of helping young Black boys become men by educating and teaching them skills to help keep them out of trouble and he wasn't prepared for a political conversation. There was supposed to be another individual on this talk with King, who right before this interview found out that based on who he worked for he could not appear on Rolands show. So King was left to do this interview on his own answering questions he was not prepared to answer. He however did very well, and I for one pray he succeeds at this and all other missions that aids Black youth, its people and human kind in general, amin.
