I really like listening to Roland Martin Unfiltered and will continue. I know you are extremely passionate about the topics, your panel opinions and your audience. What will make this better is that you allow your panel to speak freely without interruption so they can articulate what needs to be stated and that your audience can clearly understand what's being said. You do have a tendency to jump in and that panel member had not finish completing their speech. Other than that I will continue to listen.
It was a "safe" sermon... Letting people feel good about themselves, pat themselves on the back, and so on, without having to go to the trouble of any kind of self-reflection.

I went to school in a blue bastion and the history I was taught in school was a couple chapters on slavery, a lot on the Civil War (because who doesn't love a bloody battle or ten), a little bit of Reconstruction, a tiny little section on Jim Crow laws, a little bit about MLK, the Civil Rights Act, and then racism pretty much disappears from my US history lessons. Schools aren't doing black people any justice, and that's by design. I'm afraid this country would rather erase everything that makes them uncomfortable rather than face it.

We didn't learn that Lincoln was a raging racist who didn't think Black people deserved freedom. We didn't learn that the "founding fathers" of the US were brutal slave owners.We didn't learn that once slavery was outlawed (except as punishment of a crime) that plantations were replaced by private prisons. We didn't learn that white people did everything in their power to ensure that Black people could not advance. We also learned nothing about what Black people accomplished in spite of all of these obstacles. That is the super short version, woefully incomplete.

I had a white childhood friend that I would never believe she would mistreat me or allow any other white person hurt me. But one day we both went into a very nice shopping mall and I had a bank card with good money on plus my uncle had given me cash for us to buy us anything we needed for that day. But what I did not know was she had a shoplifting problem and no money from her mom. Her mother knew she had been robbing and stealing from stores for a living. I had been her friend for years but she never let me know that. So we go inside the building and the workers start asking me questions if I needed help, I said yes I would like to try on a dress and a pair of shoes to go only with it, they started laughing and saying she doesn’t have any money. I said, yes I do my uncles and father give me some. However my friend had walked away from me and asked for something else then she waited until they wasn’t looking and put a dress inside her pocket and then she walked away instead of letting me pay for the dress for her she ran out of the store. So I went to go home but the owner said no you’re been shoplifting. I said no I don’t you know what happened, I show them my money but they said I must have taken the money from the poor white girl. The police came and my father came I was

He knew where was because I would always tell him , my uncle, or mother who and where I was going and who with. So when she was telling on me my father & mother knew most of what must have happened. But I was so hurt by my friends and the other white peoples in that shopping mall. The police officer knew my family so well until he made sure they said to me that they was sorry. But this also shows how bad some people are and how not all people are guilty of the same. He was a white officer and the cops with him was going to mistreat me and my family just as bad as the racist people inside the store. Even-as I learned about my friends evilness and selfishness I still cared for her and wouldn’t tell them her name when the store owner and police asked me. But I was never around her anymore. I learn so much that day. But it doesn’t matter what they 1did to me what matters is how you react or respond so respectfully and stay safe and strong. Plus my father knew he didn’t raise a thief . And the police officer who’s was racist but just a good officer who treated people with kindness, dignity, and compassion. On top of doing his job for us all. He keeps the pace, and made sure my friend learn her lessons too, he went by her house and talked to her mother and her as well. She would sometimes ask me to go with her but I would not .

This saddens me deeply. Before church on Sunday, my parents would put on Ed Young, we would listen as we were getting dressed. I then began to follow his son through my youth until young adulthood. Even thought about attending one of the satellite churches in Houston. Then all things changed around 2014, I began to clearly notice a distinct change in the teaching of the son first. The undercover ideology that may had always been there was uncovered and I no longer followed. To hear the sermons that they minister now is the reason I am deconstructing and decolonizing my faith! It is even more disturbing that black/ Hispanic ministers in Texas are saying nothing in return to these anti- Christ comments. The church will never rise again, and individuals will seek God in their own way if a change is not made soon.

My Pastor frequently preach about false prophets and black people flocking to white churches but we do not see white people flocking to our churches. The worst are these so called black Republicans and "upper income blacks" who think they have made it. .
