Yep I have that going on with XR650L, click click replace the starter relay still click click. I have a new starter coming in but I never thought about giving it a couple of whacks, gotta try that trick. Good job brother

This is what i did with my er6n judt awhile ago i had the same problem. I tapped the starter and it started right away.but i think carbon brush or spring problem in the starter.thanks dude

Bike wouldn't start this morning, tried jumping it and nothing. I was about to give up but I saw this and thought why not. It started right up. Thank you for the video and making this less stressful. Now I know I gotta buy a new starter in a few days but I can at least make it to work.
Remember to change the oil too since oil will leak out too lol

If I am able to connect a battery pack and cables to the solenoid and jump start it then it's safe to safe it's the starter solenoid switch that needs replacing?
mavERICk well check of theres power to starter and , check when you press the start button to see if there power to the starter, if there is then starter most likely done
ChuZe there is power, going to replace solenoid switch, actually I tapped it a few times and now it's good but need to replace anyways.

My z1000 has no clicking sound at the starter relay. I tried directing it to the starter it turn on but wont start. Maybe the battery low i guess.
Dont work normally my buick lesbre had a bad starter and i tryed tapping it but didnt work so i had to get it fixed but yea great video though💯💯

99/100 times this will work if your problem is the starter and just the starter.
The starter motor brush is bad... that's why when you smark it, it cranks up
If it clicks but won't start, the starter relay is bad and needs a replacement

If it just clocks and not starting over usually starter smack the starter either that or starter relay
@@fchu616 ok but i have also changed its one way clutch bearing because its completely damaged after that bike started but now its just clicking and i have also jumped it but still it's just clicking is there issue with starter motor ?

Mines just starts I hit the starter and it still dont wanna fire idk what it could b ill check to see if im getting spark to the plugs only thing I can think of cuz the wires are gud.

@@fchu616 I don't hear the fuel pump prime but it comes on and I just hear a clicking noise that sounds like it's coming from the pump. I have a video posted of wat it's doing.
Mine has the same issue. I dissasembled the starter and the brushes from the starter are broken in pieces.

I have same issue I replaced the starter relay solenoid smacked min it rolled over then went back to ticking I have a new starter on the way mines been sitting or a year so ya lol

@@fchu616 ya lol I tryed calling some places charge freaking 500 dollars for a new starter I found one for less then 100 dollars on Amazon some places charge you out rages amount of money

Try smacking the starter with a hammer or something metal, if it starts it is the starter going bad

ChuZe I tried but it just won't start, I walked a few miles back to find someone for help, my phone can't make any call
ChuZe It starts back after a 3 hours, I'm seriously dissapointed with it, I just service it, changed the battery and oil, cleaned the carbs and all, it happen once or twice every week
Gotta pay that extra $5 a year for road side service.
