    Hey guys, awesome video...loved it. We're about to hit the Camino in over a month and were keen on getting the right socks. I've checked the Danish Endurance socks and wanted to know what % merino wool do you typically buy for your socks. Many thanks and keep up the great work.

      Were you able to make your September Camino or did Covid-19 force you to change your plans? I’m doing the Frances in September 2022. I’m guessing I’ll experience warm weather for half and cooler and wet weather for half the time.

    Is there an advantage to packing/wearing synthetic clothing vs light cotton or silk clothing? I have sensitive skin and synthetic materials tend to make me itch and give me a very mild rash.

    • @StingyNomads
      @StingyNomads  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi, we prefer synthetic, it dries quick. Cotton absorbs a lot of water, so it dries very slow. If you sweat, you end up hiking in wet clothes and you can be freezing cold if it is windy. We have loads of Camino content on our website stingynomads.com/camino-de-santiago/

    I notice that you carry your water bottle in your pack at the back. I can't reach mine in my side pockets. When walking by yourself do you just stop when you want a drink?

  • @ltlarrow1
    @ltlarrow1 Před 3 lety

    The measurements of a 38L pack exceed what major airlines allow for a carryon. Is this a problem, and assuming the worst case scenario, is putting a backpack in checked luggage a problem?

    • @StingyNomads
      @StingyNomads  Před 3 lety +3

      We check our luggage in 90% of the time and in 10 years of full time travel, doing hundreds of flights, we've had very few problems. You can always wear your hiking shoes and wrap your backpack to ensure you have your shoes and minimize chance of something dissapearing from your luggage. Take valuables/electronics in carry on bag. Buen Camino

  • @glenw3814

    Why did you weigh the pack? Were you just curious to know its weight, did you have a target weight in mind, or some other reason?

    • @StingyNomads
      @StingyNomads  Před 4 lety +3

      Because we've seen many videos where people claim that their backpacks weigh under 4kg but they end up packing it with far more stuff than we have in ours. We just wanted to show that we don't make up the weight.

    good video, but when it comes to flip-flops... better don´t go for havaianas! They are heavy as shit! a pair in EU size 41 weighs in at 340grams. If you need them only for the evenings and albergues, cheap foam-flops come in at about only 100grams a pair. just saying.
