I loved Dr Jeckyll and Mr Hyde when I read it a couple of years ago - the pacing is good so it keeps you trotting along, and even knowing the twist you can still feel the dread building.

I am enjoying finally reading classics and understanding (centuries-long) hype!

@@elzbethmrgn we’re a bit late to the Jekyll/Hyde hype train but we got there in the end!

Oh gosh I tried the Emily book, bc the cover IS adorable, (and I am interested in fairies) but I couldn't get over the historical inaccurancies suggesting an alternative universe, but never really made plausible. Plus the writing wasn't great imo. The Leckie sounds interesting, might try it on the Kindle. I just love Simon Vance as an audible reader!! Loved Nicholas Nickleby and am interested in Tale of 2 Cities. (I'm listening to him read Alan Moore's very long novel "Jeusalem" and it's fantastic!) Magisteria sounds great!

I forgot to mention I started the Leckie on audio but (for me) it needed eyes-on-text concentration, but I was surprised at how good it was! I get skeptical when all the awards are thrown at one book.
