One of our favorite cruise lines has just announced new lower fares!
Silversea Cruises has introduced new “Essential” Fares. These fares are 15 to 25 percent lower than the next higher fare. See the details of the new fares later in this video.

Silversea pioneered all-inclusive cruising with its first ship, Silver Cloud, in 1994.
Most of their ships accommodate fewer than 600 passengers.
Crew members know your name before you've met them.
Every Silversea cruise passenger gets a butler.
Your butler will stock your suite with your choice of beverages…. and pillows….. and set your table with a white tablecloth, fine china and full silverware set.
Your butler can deliver caviar every day to you (if you like).
Or, you can have your butler set up a small party for you-- and your new friends-- just about anywhere on the ship.
Laundry and polished shoes are returned to you wrapped in tissue paper.

So, let’s see how much you can save with the new Essential fare.
Here’s a seven-night cruise in Alaska: you’ll save fifteen-hundred dollars per person or about 23%.
Here’s an eleven-night cruise from Venice to Rome. The Essential fare is more than 12-hundred dollars cheaper or about 15%
But, in some cases, the Essential fare saves you nothing. In this example, it’s actually more expensive than the Port-to-Port fare.
And, I did not see any Essential fares more than five months out, so it looks like Silversea releases these discount fares within about five months of the cruise date.
Essential fares do not include shore excursions on ocean-going voyages, but they do include shore excursions, expedition gear, and charter flights when booked for expedition voyages. Expedition voyages utilize the smaller ships in the Silversea fleet, ideal for smaller ports and places such as the Galapagos and Antarctica.
But, the Silversea website has some contradictory information. For instance, this seven-night Galapagos cruise says “shore excursions are NOT included”. But, click the “shore excursions” icon below and it seems to indicate that excursions ARE included.
So, I called Silversea and they realized that their web site was incorrect. And, because of my call, the agent told me a report would be filed immediately to have the web site corrected!
Also, Essential fares require full payment at time of booking and are non-refundable. Of course, should your travel plans change, you may re-schedule your cruise for a later date. It’s not entirely clear if you’ll pay a service fee for that or not.

Still not as good as the deal we got when booked for 2025 on board Oct 2023.. booked vista got upgraded to classic balcony plus 1000 dollars obc .. ( that was there deal at the time ).. also our Oct cruise this year ( booked 2022 on board) is so much cheaper then best deal to book now ... Been sailing with silversea since 2005.. & wouldn't change it ..but from past experience it's always best to book as soon as the prices are released.. enjoy watching your videos..

Thanks so much, and yes--- I agree! Last time we sailed, there were many Crystal fans on board, so our next cruise is with them. Have you ever sailed with Crystal?

Hi ..yes have sailed crystal but only once 2016.. fabulous itinerary ( we mostly do the Mediterranean).. but the ship crystal symphony I felt was to big with far to many venues on board with nobody in them.. not small & cosy like silversea also the starting price level suites are extremely small compared to level entry with silversea..I have looked at the new crystal since the new owner ship but I'm still a silversea girl 😂..happy sailing on crystal.. will look out for your thoughts on sailing crystal..
