S̶h̶o̶c̶k̶l̶e̶y̶'̶s The Ceiling is one of the three Gunks' classic 5.6s. Linked pitches 1 and 2 with the intention to do it all in one run with a few feet of simul-climbing at the end, but the rope drag was just too heinous. Curse my amateur placement! My first foray into longform FPV climbing and dialing in my new GoPro loadout. A whopping file size and render time. Not aiming to do much of these but if the reception is decent I'm open to it?
Pitch 2 starts at: 6:34
Pitch 3 starts at: 17:38
The Ceiling pull starts at: 24:10

Nice camera angle and high quality POV. Excited to see more!
thank you so much for commenting!
Nothing like getting spooked on 5.6 got to love the gunks. Never tried this route but I’ll add it to my list. I enjoy the FPV
Lovely climb! Fun to revisit it via this video... thanks! Also, hadn't heard of anyone linking all 3 pitches. Seems like it'd be tough, for sure. Maybe easier to link 2 & 3 instead? Disneyland is a great 5.6 that you can link together for one mega-long pitch.
with a 70m there is about 20ft of simulclimbing involved I believe! Will have to try Disneyland! Just starting to cut my teeth with trad so it's a process 😅
Thank you for sharing. Why do extend every piece?
avoid drag, avoid cam walk or loosening nuts
Where did you attach your GoPro on your helmet?
to the near-front! I don't know if there's any really good spot for it though :
I really like first person views, the only issue with them is they are boring and no one watches all of them. I think it’s more interesting to kinda just cut them down and try and find the interesting bits, or the crux of harder climbs//pitches
yeah true! Not sure what balance I'm looking to strike but that's good advice. Hope all is well out in OR and looking forward to more vids!
