Tony has hundreds of riffs still unused. He recently said this in a documentary this month he did with his best mate Brian May. Its on Sky Arts over here in the Uk or its on youtube

Amazing Andrew, apparently Iommi has said he has at least a few hundred more riffs stored away for future projects.
just ask other guitarists, they'll agree, Iommi is a big influencer of some great musicians on top of being a riff machine

I remember i found out about this album when we were on a festival in Germany in 2002. I built a diy radio from an old munition box. The box was wood and it had a car battery inside with a car cd player and a pre-amp. It weight a fakkin TON. (Funny enough, me and my best bud also met our now best 2 friends from Australia, one of your own!)
At midnight, we would walk around the campsite absolutely blasting this radio. My best buddy and me had a bunch of cd's with us in one of those cd-folder/case things. We already played everything 10 times, including Sabbath of course, and then after some browsing through it, i noticed he had that Iommi cd in there, and i went "is that Iommi as in 'Tony Iommi'?".
He said "Yeah it is but i have no idea actually whats on it, my brother gave it to me before i left the house".
So somewhere passed 3 am, we woke up our entire section of the campsite blasting this album to shreds on volume 11 and people in their undies came out of their tents with tiny eye's everywhere just to ask (and not being ashamed at all) ..."what the FAK is that album???".
I imagin it woke them up a while ago already, but they had to ask because it is song after song after song on this album that makes you wonder why the hell it is allowed to exist. The 2 nights that followed this entire story repeated itself over and over, and Tony Iommi at this moment was worshipped like the freaking Sun.
The song "Time is mine" became the favourite at that night as people starting singing along that same line, going "TIME IS MINE!", and we play it every year since while smoking a reefer. It's a MONSTER of a track in it's entirety. There is no sense listening to only the riff or read the lyrics on analyse the drums. It's the entire song that is so well written. It must be a trip to wake up to this not knowing the time or where you are.
It is the perfect song, to wake up hungover people from their slumber, and they will not hate you for it LOL

Being an iommi fan myself, I bought this album when it first came out. There's not a bad song on that album. You should definitely finish listening to that album. One of my favorites is the hit off the album. Goodbye lament featuring Dave ghrol. So good

Honestly now that you mention it, this riff definitely gave me Psycho Man vibes. Its similar in some parts of the song. I think if you listened to both of them back to back, you'd be able to see it.

Iommi is ok as an album, but you still have a ton of superior Sabbath material to hear.
Awesome reaction as always! I loved it! Iommi is hands down THE most influential guitarist ever. It's a shame that the general public doesn't even know who he is, and most music fans have no idea of the extent of his influence. Almost every heavy metal song and band since 1970 has Iommi at its roots.

Hi, Andrew. The song you just played has the same chord progression as 'Iron Man' from the Paranoid album but at a much slower tempo. It seems somewhat obscured or camaflauged by being somewhat detuned, I think, but it's still Iron Man. The progression just keeps repeating for the whole song. Having said that, Tony Iommi is certainly one of the most influential guitarists of all time.

As cool sounding as the main riff is, it's completely predictable. The chorus/post-chorus is more interesting.
