You're absolutely correct regarding office politics in India. This was one of the reason I left a company last year.
There was one situation my friend told me that an IT company {name redacted} gave similar project to both India and China branches. However the Chinese project completed before hand while the Indian branch was unable to complete due to petty politics and blame game.
We desparately need to up the ante.

There are these petty politics and blame games in China too, but since you are not Chinese, you'll most likely be spared of it. BUT in China no matter what sort of mind games or politics you want to play, if the work isn't done everybody is screwed. So as far as it goes, office intrigues and politics are between workers but will generally not hinder the job itself.
There’s gonna have conflicts, arguing,petty politics,jealousy, competitions in every job you can imagine. It doesn’t matter in China, India and all over, human nature takes over. In most part towards the end those problems would be resolved for the good of the company. In modern societies nowadays, people of different ethnicities are working together, competitions, jealousies,are bound to happen. That’s why the managements have an important job to do to maintain harmony and make use of all the talents of every individual regardless of race for the benefits of the company.

in different part of china they have a habit of a permitted afternoon nap in the office work area but in Shanghai its not a common practice and can be seen as a form of laziness haha , guangzhou is is big into taking afternoon nap perhaps due tp the humid hot weather there.
