The reason the first fnaf is scary it's because of the atmosphere, not the characters.
The tension, the anxiety, the feeling that there might be something your eye isn't catching, the strange sounds, the paranoia, that was what made the first fnaf so scary
that’s why it’s my favorite honestly .
could say it for the first 2 nights but it loses all the effect after 3. just like in the other games

People don't understand that this game isn't scarier than the original. The reason behind the original fnaf games being scary was the way that the game and the surrounding environment was portrayed.

scaryness is subjective, this for me is way scarier than the original purely on the animatronic models, pretty much like how people had heart attacks with FNAF 4
I played the original FNAF on silent and it definitely eliminated a lot of the anxiety and tension

Fun Fact: Bonnie is scarier than other animatronic because Scott had nightmares about bonnie so he told the devs of fnaf plus to make him more terrifying and scarier than the other animatronics.
While I know the story of how he was scared of Bonnie, if he told the devs to make Bonnie more terrifying than the others, they failed cuz chica makes me get the creeps, here appearance is so unsettling.

The creator of the original fan game (Phisnom) is VERY well known to Scott since he was the one that made him pull the plug on the game in the first place

The original imp has better atmosphere and the designs have a certain charm that I struggle to find with new ones.
Also the og is much more darker and feels haunted because the ogs actually look like inanimate objects being possessed.
These ones faces look to expressive and alive so they don't really look like haunted objects also the supens when they come into your office also feels like it is trying too hard to be scary.
