Amazon lets you share your Amazon Prime membership with up to four family member living in the same household. While those people you share your Amazon Prime membership won't enjoy all of the benefits you do, they will get many of the most important ones, such as Prime Shipping, Prime Video, Amazon Fresh, Prime Now, Prime Reading, discounts and exclusives, and more. Sharing your Prime membership with a family member is easy, and only takes a few minutes.
Now let's walk through the steps to share your Amazon Prime account with a family member.
Step 1. Tap or click to open the "Menu" icon toward the top of the screen. A menu appears.
Step 2. Choose "Account" in the menu. The Your Account screen is displayed.
Step 3. Select "Manage Your Household" in the Account Settings section. You'll arrive at the Manage Your Household screen. On this screen you'll have the ability to add another adult, a teen, or a child to your Amazon household. In this example, I'll add another adult.
Step 4. Click "Add an Adult" in the Adults section. The displayed screen asks you to enter the name and email address of someone you live to share some of your benefits of Amazon Prime with them. If that individual already has an Amazon account, make sure to use the email address associated with their Amazon account. Enter that information, and then click "Continue."
Step 5. The next screen informs you that you must agree to share the wallet associated with your Amazon account in order to share Amazon Prime benefits. Click "Agree and Continue."
Step 6. The next screen asks what elements in your family library you want to share. Click to place a check mark next to the items you want to share, and then choose "Continue."
Step 7. The next screen prompts you to send your invite to the family member you want to share your Amazon Prime benefits with. Click "Send Invite." You'll be returned to the Amazon Manage Your Household screen, where you'll see a note that the user you invited has 14 days to accept your request. Upon accepting your invitation, that person will automatically have the ability to start enjoying many of your Amazon Prime benefits. - Jak na to + styl

I cant find manage your household is there another way?
Tip: Don't put in the person's name and leave out the email and save it for later. You CAN'T go back and add email later. You can only remove the adult. If you remove the adult, it will make you wait 180 days. Hope it helps!

hi Matt I have successfully added my mother but she told me she put her prime on and it showed a bunch of numbers on the screen. She clicked ok several times but nothing happened. I think she was supposed to put the numbers in on the remote? Not sure but now she goes to prime video and nothing happens. How does the other person access prime. She has Comcast so we are able to just say "Amazon Prime Videos" in remote and comes on. She gets the screen that says prime video but no access to movies. Don't know how to fix this. Can you help? Thank you

I received the invite from my Mom after she did all these steps on the video. So when I click on the email invite link it takes me to a sign in option. I add my email and then what? do I get a different password? very confusing what happens from there. Help!

Please say new way who to share a Amazon Prime with family and friends.
So does this mean that the adult you invited and I can shop for each other and we wont see what was purchased or will display on screens as "what you have been browsing". I find it so frustrating sharing my main prime account with my husband and adult children in the household and we can all see what was bought for Christmas or birthdays. :(

Good question. If she can install the Kindle app then I would think she can. But because it's a Barnes and Noble product, the Kindle app may not be available on that device.

Prime Videos is one of the things that can be shared with family members. Not sure what you're talking about.

Yes, prime video sharing doesn't seem to work. I did all the steps and Prime videos are still asking me to subscribe to Prime even tho I'm sharing with husband who has the Prime account.
Max Dalton you do not seem to understand the majority of the people's question about the video sharing issue. Most of these people/family members do not live in the same household or country, but the primary prime account holder wants to share the prime video with them.

- Will the partner account be able to see what I purchase?
- Can the partner account use my credit card for purchases? How to prevent this from happening?
- Can the partner account use their own credit card for making purchases without saving it?

My mother added me to her household so I could use Amazon prime but it won't work. I already had the prime app on my kindle but my free trail for prime had fun out. Every time I try to watch something on prime it takes me to a page to sign up for a paid prime account even though I'm added to my mum's and should get access. Anyone know what to do?

Yes. You should be able to if I'm understanding what you want to do correctly.
Do they have to physically have to be in the same household. I want to allow my daughter who is away at college to have access to prime video. I really only want her to have access to prime video. Free prime video. That is my concern about sharing my wallet. I don't want her to get a notion to make a purchase without me pre-approving the purchase.
They do not have to be in the same household that I'm aware of. You should be able to do this.
@Detroitblue Did you ever find out how to give access to Prime Video without giving access to wallet? I also don't really want other people seeing the items I buy either. I do have my mother's cc on my account for when I'm ordering her stuff, but she doesn't have my password..

I think up to five, but you'd have to dig around. A quick Google search should give you an updated answer.

Your partner can search for the email letting them know from Amazon that they sent the invite and another email that you’ve accepted or not

I can see where they don't want to give people the ability to do that, but yes, I get the frustration from the consumer side as well.

Too bad Amazon loves to suck and not make things simple though.

From what I can see, you can just add two adults.
So you can only add one extra adult? That’s dumb.
amazon houshold set up is a load of rubbish really having to come to u tube to watch a video to add family really !!!
