I'm a metal guy, 100%. Not a fan of rap and hip-hop. I love that Ronnie is able to marry the genres in such a way that it makes it attractive to multiple fans of totally different genres. To me, that helps to bring people together. That's a beautiful thing.

Watching people react to Falling in Reverse is legit one of the best things on YT. Definitely do the trilogy.
Ronnie Radke said the titular "Popular Monster" is the voice inside his head, willing him to listen. "It's the story of a hero that's been falsely accused and torn down by society," he explained "It shows what happens when you get pushed too far. You become exactly what they say you are, exactly what they want you to be - a monster." When he went to jail he was in a band that was going places but they decided to cut ties with him. He formed Falling In Reverse after he got out and now they are 10 times better than his old band bar none.
The old band was "Escape the Fate".
He was also inspired by the new joker movie. He said that this is how that movie made him feel. There's an interview where he talks about it on here.
I still have a soft spot in my heart for old escape the fate, but have to agree with this comment, Falling in Reverse is a whole other level up for him, how he can mix genres so smoothly and the transitions and unexpected drops, its magical

I would like to say thank you for doing this song. As a retired Army Artillery soldier seeing the stuff I seen and dealing with it, this song actually helped me deal with my PTSD and demons that I live with everyday. Helped me get off the pills and therapy and I found my own way to deal with the shit I deal with.
I love all music and this one is my go to when I’m down. Again thank you! Keep up the great work!

I only just got into Tom MacDonald like a week ago but that was also my first thought. Only thing is I think neither Ronnie nor Tom are in the habit of featuring other vocalists in their music. Like, the only one I can think of that Ronnie has featured is Corey Taylor, and I think I heard one of Tom's lyrics that said something about not featuring other vocalists in his music. But I noticed he and Ronnie are following each other on instagram, so maybe there is hope for a collaboration. It would be awesome for sure.
I read somewhere that before Covid Ronnie and Tom were going to tour together so it could happen.

They had a tour scheduled but Ronnie's bassist suddenly passed away so the tour got cancelled.

When you guys (hopefully) do the trilogy it will help explain where his darkness comes from. Ronnie came from a broken family with a mom who was addicted to drugs and left him when he was young. He’s spent time in prison and struggled with his own heroin addiction. His daughter Willow, the little girl in the video, is a huge part of why he’s on the better path that he is now. I really hope you do the trilogy. The talent and creatively that comes out of him and FiR is next level. 🖤
And yes the vision behind the videos is Ronnie’s. He also writes the lyrics and most of the music.

I have had this song on my phone since I first heard it s couple years ago. I'm 47 and I've battled anxiety depression and addiction for years. Sometimes when I'm just way overwhelmed I can put this song on and just let so much frustration out be screaming along with it. Enjoyed y'all reaction. ☯️☮️

so Ronnie said when he did this it is how he was feeling at the time. yeah, im pretty sure about that. he does not just write any old thing to make music. he puts his heart and soul into everything he does and is usually about his life. this is not just some random song. also Ronnie can rap his but off he can pretty much do all genres so like when others ask what genre is this the answer is simple. the genre is Ronnie Radke. plus Ronnie shares almost everything about about himself so in no way does he try to hide his past and the amazing person he is now. and thats why so many people relate to Ronnie. who has not ever felt like this. right? he is inspiring and his story has helped so many turn their own lives around. including me.
He is a hated man, he is the popular monster, yes he suffers daily depression, his thoughts, emotions he puts into his music are his escape. But it doesn't stop there, feel his words cut through those that understand this affliction that has claimed so many of our beloved musicians and actors. Ronnie and his boys are talented as hell. I swear Popular Monster is a masterpiece of the highest level. Just everything about it. The whole song is extremely deep. I love that break down at the end where those demons build up to the point where u cant fight them off anymore and they take over at "where the f is ur god". Every person experiences this in their life. Absolute masterpiece.

Falling in reverse is probably my favorite so I heard this a while back and heard Ronnie speak about what the lyrics mean and you nailed it perfectly with what he was going for. You got that on your first listen it took me like a hundred listens lol. Respect

Ronnie has been through a lot and a lot of his songs are metaphorical to the things he's been trough. His past isn't the best he's done prison time he has had a lot of haters out there judging him and he became what everyone judged him to be. He's popular because he's famous and a celebrity but a monster because that's what people portrait him to be.

Just seen Ronnie live at Unheavel in Grand Rapids Michigan about a month ago. Was the best show I've ever seen. The energy in the crowd and the pure excitement is something I'll never forget. Even someone introverted like me felt so comfortable amount the crowd that it was a unusual feeling of acceptance.
In this entire set of songs his daughter is in every song as, what seems like, his pull back to reality.
Best part of the whole video is when that drop towards the end kicked in and ole boy was like Yeah.....Yeah. We all felt that.
He was in a band called escape the fate and he was amazing. He got into drug trouble went to prison. This song is his feelings because drugs can bring you to a monster but his daughter saved his life! That’s why he is in this new band falling in reverse. He already made a song dissing his replacement in escape the fate in the song tragic magic
He has alot of different musical collab in his music this song is about when he got out of jail he was having ptsd.
The most beautiful part of the video is when his daughter brings him back to reality and he shows she is the most important being in his existence.

Ronnie Radke has been through a lot of shit in his life and has battled depression, addiction, etc. And all those comes out in his music. You'd have to go to his Twitch and ask him yourself, but I think his music is his way of coping.
The little girl is his real daughter. She's his savior, his redemption, his rock. Like Hailey for Eminem she is one of the main reasons why he's turned his life around.
Ronnie Radke writes all his own lyrics, writes the music for the instruments, and is the creative genius behind the story and visuals you see. Falling In Reverse is his brainchild and we're so lucky for it.
This song hut very close to me, I've been fighting with depression for the last 14 years & it's hell to live with sometimes. The song is almost identical to what I feel from time to time.

When it drops at 8:06 thats the beauty about Ronnie is that he mixes rap into screamo, hes' pretty good at it tbh :) Also, one of his band members died due to suicide so he doesn't realise new music anymore only revamping old songs and the girl in the video is actually his daughter.
The dark, scary and eerie comes with depression. That’s why this man a symbol for many.

Ronnie Radke directs most of, if not all of their videos. Dude is a creative genius on EVERY level.
The way I see it, when he is rapping he is talking to us as a person, when he is singing he is breaking down, and when he is "screaming " that is the monster in him breaking out.
When the daughter walks in to calm him down I almost always tear up.

I take this song as. We all have the monster that people never want to listen to tell us to move on and take pills. When I went to therapy all they told me was to move on. But some just can't move on. Depression is a popular monster meaning everyone has it and popular means everyone knows it. The ending of the video can mean alot of things from. Him fighting his demons and finally taking charge of his own mind. Or when people try to get help and can't they do stupid things. Like school shooting 90% of it it from Depression and ppl fighting their depression killing them from bullying so that's how they can relieve them self

Especially with this song(and a few others as well) it's how he inserts these aspects of a more rap feel to his music. The rest of the sound he's done a 100 times in the past but he truly pulls it off in a way I have never seen. On top of that it's just a very good song all over.

The build in this song is crazy... then it drops out again and he builds you back up and then he explodes. This is my favorite FIR song because of that. I've heard it probably 100 times and it still gives me goosebumps.
