- In this video I walk you through the process I took to rejuvenate a vintage workbench that my Grandpa Bill built over 65 years ago. This video deals specifically with the process of refinishing, sealing and protecting the workbench surface. If you're looking for information on vintage workbench restoration, this is the video to start with!

LiLSqweeker Gaming who you
Watched a bunch of videos and think yours is one of the best with some advice Iâm going to follow restoring a great great great uncleâs work bench Iâm doing now.
Awesome, thank you!
I recently bought a 40 year-old solid maple bench and luckily I refinished it with the same goal, the same philosophy, exactly the way you did. So many similarities. About halfway through I imagined friends saying âHe died doing something he lovedâ. If I sent you pictures of my shop and my bench you would feel fight at home. I subbed and will binge-up over the next few days. You da Man! I LOVE MY BENCH! Thanks for the validation.
Gary Fairbrother absolutely my pleasure! Iâm glad you enjoyed the video! Welcome to the crew!!!
100 barely scratched the 50 year old table I inherited with my home. I'm going in on it tomorrow though. This is a fun project!
This can help my own table #best video
Looks beautiful. I love the style and humor of your presentation. Subbed!
David Plass Thanks much, bro! I really love doing this, so Iâm glad you enjoy it! Are there any projects that youâd like to see me tackle?
â@@BurkeMakesStuff Not that I can think of. I'll probably spend some time going through your back catalog of videos in the upcoming weeks.
Awesome video brother! Loved the whole thing. Really proud of what you're doing.
George Damanis thanks my man! We should set up a BBQ soon!
Looo
Awesome video!
Brian abreu glad you enjoyed it! What did you like?
Burke Makes Stuff I liked the transitions and the quirky coffee jokes. Your edits are getting better with every video!
I agree. The edits are getting much better.
nice history in this video
Thanks bro! Made anything new recently?
@@BurkeMakesStuff I'm going to make a nuclear/solar powered battery using tritium vials and collecting the light they give off using the tiny solar panels to power a light I believe that it would be a cool thing to display in my bedroom.
Kyle Cheng just donât melt yourself on the nuclear side of that project please.
@@BurkeMakesStuff it is alright because the radiation that it releases it minimal at only about 4 times background radiation and that's just from the beta particles which aren't strong enough to penetrate the skins surface
Cool restoration. Love the finished colour/tones.
Alberta Al Thank you! Obviously Iâm super happy with how this part came out! Make sure to subscribe to see part 2 next week!
Awesome video, nicely done
Thanks, Mark. I love this one!
Great video! I just inherited my Grandpaâs work bench from my dad. It needs to be refinished. Youâve inspired me to create a video of my own restoration project! Hope to post it over the next couple weeks. Thanks for sharing!
Outstanding! Can you send me a pic when itâs done?!? I love sharing ideas and projects Iâve inspired in some way!!
Love this! Thank you so much for sharing it.
Iâm glad you enjoyed it, Kathy! I loved making it!
Hey mate, just saw this..nice video! Only thing I'd change is wiping it down with methylated spirits after sanding to catch the dust. Any form of moisture raises the wood grain and you'll end up having to sand again.
I actually did think about that, though I didnât mention it in the video. Thanks for reaching out!
nice job
I just gotta say, you make really great videos!
Drew Perkins I appreciate that! I really loved making this one. More to come, next week!

That bench is the same age as me, unfortunately a little sanding won't make me look as good.
