- "You tell everyone or anyone that has every doubted, thought they did not measure up, or wanted to quit, you tell them, to look up, get up, and don't, ever give up."
Michael Irvin delivers an emotional speech to his parents, children, wife, and teammates during his 2007 Hall of Fame induction speech. - Sport
From a Steeler fan, thank you Michael Irvin for a touching, heart-felt speech. New respect to you.
dasteelers75 he stole the ending from a Rocky movie..
@@gardetto265 Damn bruh. Dont die a hater.
@@dvantebotley4798 did he say he stole the ending from a rocky movie? I guess A crime/felony was committed. He should call the police and have him arrested for doing that. Lol. Yeah let’s go back and see how many lines were stolen from rocky movies and other movies and prosecute these HOF guys that did
"Cause that's what a Hall of Famer is." Epic.
It is a HoF speech for the ages! A great speech! Truly from the heart, and truly inspiring. Michael's speech is in my top 5 HoF speeches of all time!
Steeler fan here! I love that he's true to his heavenly father!
Talking about his wife, you can feel there were moments he knows where his wife would have walked away, but she chose to stay. A woman of strength and depth, not many of us can do that, be able to stay and not be toxic.
Just because a woman leaves a man doesn’t make her weak
@@jackiebennett6304 I do not disagree either, circumstance are different. The presence of strength does not mean the absence of weakness and the opposite is also true.
He thanks everyone including fans and people on the committee. The play maker is an amazing man could motivate and inspire anyone.
This speech helped me through one of the most challenging times in my life, will never forget that. “Look up, get up & never give up.”
look at deion sanders that help me.. great men make impressions
I’ve been a Cowboys fan my whole life. They won their first super bowl on the day I was born. Yes this speech helped me through life’s challenges!
One of the best speeches I've heard and I'm a 9ER fan. GB to all
same brother. stay strong 💪
No idea that Michael Irvin was such a good speaker. Great job. I enjoyed that.
Thank you Michael for giving glory to our heavenly Father
Here after the Flagrant 2 podcast lol. Thank you.
This man is a master communicator
I will watch this over an over
the title of this video should be The Art of Gratitude... great man. DC4L
This is got to be the best hof speech. It wasn’t scripted. Was all from the heart
This is a man. A real man.
Swiriving curving Irvin we love ya brother! Hall of Fame forever!
This was pure class, great speech. Grew up in Dallas during the 90s, the triplets will always be legends in the Lone Star State.
Me as an eagles fan for 30 yrs...all i can say is that this man right now should be a head coach..i think he would turn a losing team around becuz of the passion he brought to the game....i love this man...M.Irvin is a great hall of famer...Players now can learn a lot from him.
I haven’t heard a hall of fame speech this touching with humility in my 50 plus years of being a watchman of the game ,great job Michael Irving
You should watch Shannon Sharp's Hall of Fame Speech. Equally inspiring
I watch and listen to this speech whenever I get anxious or feel like I’m having a bad day. Thank you Mr. Irvin for your wonderful words of wisdom.
That's probably the best speech I've ever heard.
Michael Irvin was the most passionate football player I've ever seen. He was the real deal for sure.
Nice truck
@@SuperDuty250, thanks.
He really was....
26 minutes and 5 seconds well spent! Thank you Michael Irvin!
The best
The best hall of fame speech ever.Look up get up and don't ever give up
Shannon Sharpe
Deion sanders
Michael Irvin is one of the most honest people I've ever seen in all of pro sports, period. He's had a lot of substance abuse problems in his past but he's working as hard on his sobriety as he's worked on the football field and ever Dallas Cowboys player to a man will tell you that he was the hardest working player and unquestioned leader of that locker room which is saying a lot considering that locker included Emmitt, Troy, and Deion. He still mentors the rookies coming into the league. Everyone knows that I'm a huge Steelers fan but that never stops me from giving respect and praise when it's due and for all he's done for his beloved Miami university, to Dallas Cowboys, and I NFL in general, I have the utmost respect for the great Michael Irvin, and this HOF speech is a reflection of the man he is.
Claude White I didn’t know ur a steelers fan
Claude White eh. I wouldn't call him honest. He basically just said that God told him a Rocky balboa quote..
Claude White Addicts are the most honest people on Earth... That's coming from a former addict myself and knowing plenty of them
@@chauncefella4854 As someone who was once in an active addiction, I was taught that honestly is a major part of recovery.
Abel Ramirez keep it up, Abel. You’ve got strength that you don’t even know.
A great speech. And forever a Hurricane.
❤❤❤ I watch this often when the dark days get me & look up get up don't ever give up, battling same substance issues but many health ailments 2, your a messenger of hope & light, bless you 4 giving hope. Love u Michael & thanks 4 sharing this on here dude much ❤
Had to come after that flagrant 2 episode
Michael Irvin became more than his remarkably gifted athletic being. Michael exemplifies the possibilities of change; not by chance, but by work, hard work and commitment to be "more", to be "better", to be the "best", to honor yourself. The work doesn't end. Congratulations, Michael, you are an inspiration on and off of the field. Appreciate you. God bless
One of the best Hof speeches ever!
Orlando chavez not really. He basically just quoted Rocky balboa the whole time acting like they were God's words to him. The ego
@@gardetto265 stop being the speech police. If it bothers you that much go have him prosecuted for stealing some lines in a speech. In fact go back and check to see who else has stolen lines and speeches from movies ect. And report the crime /felonies.
Most touching speech I have ever heard. My respect for Michael Irvin.
Michael Irvin is as much of a reason the Cowboys owned the 90s as anyone !
You can always feel a HEART- FELT speech, and Michael Irvin delivered it.
One of the all time great HOF speeches… Born in the late 80’s grew up in irving w/ Texas stadium close enough that we would walk there and back instead of parking when I was a kid… The triplets were everything for a kid growing up in Dallas at that time… and my favorite was always and still is #88…
Flagarant 2 brought me here
Same!!! I have a new found appreciation for him!!!
Michael Irvin, the master of the slant route! This was a great emotional and touching speech, thank you for opening up to us all.
Slant hook comeback. Money!
Touching speech. I'll never forget it. And I pray he will still continue to be the man I know he wants to be for his children & ask God to protect him from all the temptations Satan throws at him. I pray God gives you wisdom & guidance still through your journey.
Michelle Prowell I already forgot it. Once you steal from Rocky you are soon forgotten
I agree with you. At times some such as Dion Sanders find Christ, get all excited then fizzle out. In time God is no longer mentioned ie: Sanders hall of fame speech hanging with snoop dogg. I pray for them.
@@gardetto265 who cares
Just now watching the full speech in December 2020... Can’t hold back he tears. Thank you for all of the peaks in the 90’s. Thank you for this message in the valley that is today. God bless you, Michael Irvin.
well said
As an Eagle fan, I loved this speech. Whenever Im feeling down, I come back to this video. Thank you Michael
I tear up every time I watch this speech. We’re going to win our 6th Super Bowl this 2021 season. It’s time to do it again…How bout them Cowboys! Whoooohooo!
@@TheThugNasty who do you think’s going to win the NFL 2021 season?
@@TheThugNasty Oh…Okay. I get it. Bandwagon express!
Lol
How did that work out??? Lol GTFOH
This comment has sure aged poorly😂
Who’s here from watching his interview at Flagrant 2 ?
A consumate, class act!! And I'm a life long 49er fan!!! Those were some special times back then...for both our teams!! Congrats Michael!!👍
From an eagle fan. This touched my heart
Michael Irvin is the reason why I played football✊🏿😭🗣️THE EDGE!!!!🏈
WOW! Maybe the best induction speech of all time
Where my flagrant 2 peeps at 👀
Best Hall of Fame speech by far. I’m a 49ers fan but I’ve always had a profound respect for individual players outside of my team because they all play the same game, but people like Michael Irvin stick out so so much because of what they put not only on the field but also deliver the same person off the field and he will forever be respected in the game of football and the People’s champ no matter what team like.
God bless Michael Irvin and I know he made the Cowboys organization very happy with his honesty and his constant fight no matter what. Big thanks to Michael Irvin
My favorite hall of fame speech of all time
Tyrus Lewis my favorite speeches from the following..
Michael Irvin
Shannon Sharpe
Brett Favre
Marshall Faulk
Terrell Davis
Bill Parcells
Kurt Warner
Jerry Jones
Deion Sanders
Cris Carter
Warren Sapp
they are up there on my list of favorite HoF speeches. Actually, i have never heard a bad, or less inspiring speech from any member of the Pro Football HoF!
Always be a Cowboys fan, this brings chill bumps to my arms hearing this so many years later , I was a kid watching the Cowboys win 3 Superbowls in the 90s…WHAT A TEAR JERKING SPEECH
spoke from the heart
Canton ohio
Best HoF speech period
As an Eagles fan, the only trash talk that i can’t ever respond to, is when someone mentions the Eagles fans initially cheering when he went down… even if it happened prior to fans knowing how serious it was, absolutely shameful moment for all fans, i think every fan unanimously feels the same… what a tough, talented dude Michael Irving was on that field.
best hall of fame speech ever!!!!!!!!
Brentwood Benjiman Ellsworth no it wasn't. Copyright
"Play Maker" played with Intensity! His love for the game was on Full Display and it showed come Sunday's. Thank goodness for CZcams; I love reminiscing on the Cowboys Glory Days!
This man brought Dallas so much hope, pride and joy during his career as a Cowboy. Thank you, Mr Irvin ❤️
Class personified! Beautiful speech!
Michael you done well
Love Michael Irvin! Thank you for everything it was an honor being a fan through out the 90s!
Thanks Mike for that. I never knew how well spoken you are, this is a very touching speech. Takes a real man to be honest and give praise and thanks to all the right people at the same time being true to yourself and everyone right or wrong To me that show class but more than that character. I've always been a Emmitt Smith fan, now I can honestly say I'm the Big 8 8 fan! As we'll. To his wife you've always been the Real SUPER STAR!!!
although i didnt get to see him play but his energy is the best i seen in sports 🏈🏈🏈🏈🏈
That dude had NO FEAR going across the field. Something T. Owens would not do in Dallas or anywhere else. I hope this man stays committed to his recovery.
I watch this about once a year. I love this game like no one else. I promise y’all I’m destined for greatness. Gonna be the coach I want to be
I try to watch this man and Shannon's Sharpe's HOF speech at least once a year since 2016, I feel like it's important to do so
😂
So much humility! Love it! God bless!
As a kid from Dallas in the 90s. I Love Michsel Irvin and I will always love him. He brought hope to my city. I will never forget. God bless. ✌️😥🥰🇺🇲🍻
That’s my wide receiver there. I like a lot things about this man like how he handled adversity once got on the right track and this speech exemplifies the type of person a lot us could learn from.
One of the best hall of fame speeches I ever heard Them triplets forever and ever
Born as a 3rd generation Cowboys fan in 1994, I never got to see Michael Irvin play. I heard stories from my dad and grandpa over the years about how great he was. I could watch highlights, games and the great wins but this right here, is when I realized how great this man really was. This was the best and will always be the best HOF speech of all time. Michael Irvin is a real life success story and what anyone should strive to be as a teammate. God bless.
B
Jared Hoey I'm a very happy eagles fan. I actually witnessed a Superbowl In my lifetime. Can't say the same for you buddy
I was born in 84. I was just old enough to understand football around 1990-91. This man was a phenom. Absolute playmaker extraordinaire.
@@gardetto265 in the land before time the Eagles won one. I saw 3 for a win before you ever saw 1 for a win. 1 doesn’t supersede over 3. Put the paper bag back over your head
Thank you flagrant 2
My man #88... The Playmaker! ☝️
My man, THE TRUE PLAYMAKER. BEST INDUCTION SPEECH EVER...HOW BOUT THEM COWBOYS...JJ BEST COACH EVER
He's now in the HOF too! With the Triplets!
Jesus Saves!!! Michael Irvin is a testimony to that!!!! God Bless you and God Bless your testimony!!!
Best speech ever!!!
after flagrant 2 episode
Wow... Just Wow.. This Cowboys team was my favorite football team of all time... all those team mates you listed were amazing... when you mentioned Daryl Johnston, I yelled out "Moose" without thinking... and yet, I despised Irvin and his antics. However, it's within each of us to fall... and then to rise again, not on our own strength, but leaning on the almighty.. if you could boil down that last 5 minutes of this video to help all us men understand what's truly important, I believe Michael has nailed it. Much respect to you. You have wrestled your demons, and may still do so..... but you are a role model... you model reconciliation, gratitude, and repentance in front of your boys.
The day Michael Irvin Got my Total Respect !!! When on a day he could have just took in all the glory for himself , He chose not to , He Humbled himself and told us all he just wanted to raise his kids to be better men than he himself was ! Him doing that , Made him A MAN !
Still best HOF speech ever
This brought me to tears!
Much Respect.
I became a cowboy fan because of Troy Michael and emmitt smith feel blessed that I was born in the early nineties
Loved watching him and when he was on Longest Yard
They need to bring this kind of game back into football. Football is nothing without entertainment, you can do without politics, but in all things during the game and after the game, God it is always right there beside you guiding you, guarding you and protecting you. Michael Irvin had the right idea to give God the praise
Thank You Micheal.
forget football, it took a real man at the end of his speech
Can't believe how little views this has.
WOW!!!
Can't stand the cowgirls but still respect dynasty and class. RESPECT!!!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart sir.
I owe you my life.
You owe God your life..
You were my hero when I was growing up.
This was great speech
The playmaker is the greatest of all time DC4L
The playmaker 💪💪💪
Sup flagrant army
one of the BEST to do it!!!!
Even though I'm not a Cowboys fan and was always annoyed when he'd dominate Giants defenders during his playing days, this was an incredible speech. He's definitely one of the greatest WRs of all time.
17 children WOW!
He loved his teammates.
Well done, Michael.
As a Cowboys fan, there was nothing better then watching Irvin catch an Aikmen pass on a Sunday afternoon
This is the guy who I hated when we (SF Niners) played against. Dude was a straight beast. Nothing but respect. Brought the best out of Dion Sanders, Eric Davis, and Merton Hanks... Salute! HOF hella deserved.
@Titus *DEION
Almost cried ... Almost!
I am a 49er Fan since 1979, I saw the Cowboys as The Great Nemesis, disliked the "Triplets" with severity, but only because they were so incredibly good, I particularly disliked Irvin, but he has my utmost respect, as do Aikman, Emmitt Smith, along with all the other Cowboys of the 80's and, of course, particularly of the 90's, they were SO GOOD, but yes, this speech, delivered so very heartfelt, humbly and with genuine humility & sincerity, has me discarding any remnants of leftover disdain and replacing it with admiration and much respect for Michael Irvin and ALL the Cowboy 'Family' members, Coaches, Jimmy Johnson, Barry Switzer, especially Tom Landry, all the players, the organization and the fans.
I must thank Michael Irvin for his remarkable speech and candor & for being such an excellent example of how the paradox of imperfection & perfection can be inspirational, especially with the help from God and his son Jesus Christ, to which I give thanks and praise...
"...look up, get up, and don't, ever give up."~Michael Irvin
"How 'bout them Cowboys!"
I was just the opposite; a kid in the 90’s who loved the Cowboys and HATED the niners. For the exact same reason- they were so good and always the main threat. Today, I look back and have so much love and respect for those 49ers teams. It represents a special time in my life, and I’m so grateful for all the memories of these great teams and players.
What a boss!
