Well explained. I wish there was a market for this type of work here. It’d get better with every job as practice in anything helps one master a craft. Unfortunately the market for bespoke work is so minute only the very best and lucky few ever win the jobs. The rest of us continue with the mass produced dull stuff
Very true! However, we have found over the many years doing this, often the showier pieces that are fun to make and look cool, are a catalyst. Much like the fashion industry runways use stupid displays of nonsense, they don't expect to sell that exact clothing, but push people into acceptance of a small part of that look. If you can make really out there, cool pieces of concrete, not only does it show your skill and ability, but can get clients to see it and start thinking outside the box with their requests and help break up the fabricator monotony of 'making slabs'!
