I don’t think people today understand just how VAST the influence of the talking heads camp is
In the late 70s they elevated rock to a completely new level of artistry, inspiring untold numbers of musicians who would go on to do great things. In the 80s, they were “new wave” pioneers who inspired untold numbers of musicians yet again. They spearheaded the use of digital audio recording in a live setting. On top of all that, a track from one of their side projects (a side project for fucksake) went on to become the most sampled piece of music from the last 40 years...helping to shape the hip hop sound of the 90s which still resonates with mainstream to this day. It’s very difficult to overstate the influence of the talking heads

Fuck all else to do apart from trying to name and shame people for their spelling, when you can't even structure together a basic sentence in English. Capital letter for a beginning word, full stop at the end. If you can't remember the basic's of your schooling, I'd say you have the intelligence level of a piece of meat. You useless, incapable of memories, piece of meat.

My first time experiencing Taking Heads was when I saw SMS at the theater. What a moment! I was absolutely mesmerized and a huge Talking Heads fan from that day on. Immediately left the theater and began buying all their albums beginning with their current release at the time Little Creatures. Still listening after all these years and still among my favorite bands of all time.

We have to make allowances for David. David is what David is. I do know he is an amazing talent and and Talking Heads did change my life and he was the driving force behind them. Without him there would have been no Talking heads. Stop Making Sense is one of the all time greatest concerts. David has done so many other impressive things as well. Writing books and designing bicycle stands are just two of them. Many brilliant people can be on the edge but fortunately he is still with us and still being very creative.
Also Tina's speech here was really great She really gave a great analysis of the problems in the recording industry and how things should work. She and David basically won't talk to each other but that didn't stop Talking Heads from producing life changing music.

Like other bands, Talking Heads existed at a certain time and in a certain dimension. Trying to come together so many years later with some semblance of similarity "so far back" must have been weighing on them, David in particular. When you change so much over time, it gets really difficult to come together (like a reunion with an ex).

Beautiful video, truly, thank you, observing the tail end of the days when music was real, generated by artists and composers and not by super-producers and the other, myriad money interests. Composers learned to keep hold of their copyright in the 80's and that was their death warrant. So, the great days are long gone for the music industry and the culture, but we have the recordings and videos like these. Thanks.
