      @happytime2781 Před 2 lety +28

      I feel exactly same, song you mentioned sums it's perfectly. Josh had incredible hard task to follow Frusciante footsteps and he done it incredibly well in his own style. When the time comes he basically stepped away without complaining. Josh is a type of dude you always want to have on your side - who show's up and do what is expected from him without being a jackass, very talented but same time humble person. He was the first and obvious choice playing already back guitar on on Stadium Arcadium tour. Even with Frusciante being most influential and recognizable guitarist for RHCP Klinghoffer earned well deserved respect.

    • @stelioshz
      @stelioshz Před rokem +13

      @@happytime2781 It was just a coincidence that he was playing the second guitar at stadium arcadium tour. Their second guitarist couldn't play at the show (I don't remember why), and Josh was just with the band on the tour, as a friend of them, just hanging out, and they just chose him to replace their second guitarist. I read it on an interview before some time, I don't have a link, but I am sure you will find it if you search it.
      Also, suddenly Josh didn't get all the respect he deserves, because he is not frusciante, even though he created great music, in my opinion, many of the songs he was part of, are of the best songs the band has written.
      As you both said.. it's a bitter sweet symphony. :(

    Anthony is an old school hype man who just happens to have written some great songs. He has never claimed to be a “real” singer. He brought the energy to the group along with flea. I love how he doesn’t hide his musical shortcomings and his humanity. That’s why I still love the chilis 32 years after I first heard them. It’s a brotherhood thing, they made us all feel like we were a part of the band. I mean this whole thing is all about love. They ditched a whole bunch of good musicians simply because the chemistry wasn’t right. That tells me all I need to know about them.

    Honestly all I want to say is a huge big thanks to Josh for being there during those difficult years for the band, when John once again went on his own voyage. They could disintegrate and cease to exist, but they tried and succeeded.
    I'm sick and tired of hearing the negative about Josh, these constant comparisons with John are not in his favor, as if he was supposed to be a copy of him or something like that. I can only imagine how difficult it was for him in that and subsequent period, given his modest and harmless nature, but he's a great fellow and a talented musician, he endured everything and contributed to the development of the band and I love it.
    I also love John of course with all my heart, but I also completely fell in love with the songs of rhcp with Josh. the Getaway is a simply masterpiece IMHO, I'm With You layered to taste, but in the end I loved all the songs from there too. And I will not say anything more about Klinghoffer's solo work at all, because his both albums are one of my favorite creations in recent years.
    I wish that everything was and will fine with him, because he's a damn talented musician and I think he's a good person. Also I wish to whole band not to lose John anymore, and to John not to lose the spark and desire to make music. Amen.

Since the 90´s I´m a RHCP fan and their music helped me a lot when I had personal crisises during my life. Thanks RHCP for existing and I hope you will make more music for the next decades. Love you! Cheers from Acapulco.

    I got into these guys when BSSM came out so the lineup for me will forever be "Anthony, Flea, Chad, and John" but over the years I have loved a lot of their songs, and even a few from the newer albums have found their way into my heart. I especially like *The Getaway* , that is a TRULY under-rated album and a massive source of hits for a band so far into their career. Sick Love and Dark Necessities are killer tracks. Goodbye Angels is also killer,... amazing melody, killer pulsing outro, sick beats...just wonderful. But I'm biased on that one because I saw them live on that tour (where the colored candles were waving and pulsing over the crowd, trippy AF - see the video if you don't know what I mean) and it brings back really fond memories.... plus the girl in that video is a knockout, lol. Bands like RHCP make me feel young again.
    Long tenured bands like Metallica, U2, Guns N Roses, The Cure and Iron Maiden, I mean 70s and 80s bands that still tour, couldn't even DREAM of putting out an album 35 years into their careers and having THREE, not one, not two, but THREE hit songs on such an album, yet RHCP did it with ease and are still churning, dudes are all 50+ and still cool and relevant AF. Respect.

His performance after sharing his story of playing in the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and tribute to his friends including fans, gave me an increased appreciation for their music. Because, as is conveyed in the video - It's all music; with the understanding that you may not like the song that's on, and similarly - that there is an order to communication that helps us make unity in multiplicity.

      @deweil647 Před 2 lety +25

      one of many many wrongs the RRHOF has committed, with a good amount of blame to be aimed squarely at the band.
      1. Josh should NOT have been inducted, given his short, unremarkable stint in the band (at the time, they had released almost no music with him)
      2. Dave should DEF have been inducted - One Hot Minute plus the soundtrack singles = huge part of the band's story
      3. Pearl Jam - Dave A and Jack Irons should DEF have been inducted - of the songs PJ played at the ceremony, none of them were from the Matt Cameron era. He's a great musician and deserved to be honored, but realistically, VS and Vitalogy (for Dave A) and No Code and Yield (For Jack Irons) are more important albums, with bigger hits, than anything Matt has done and likely will ever do with the band
      4. Guns n Roses/Kiss not allowed to have members in the bands for decades but Josh can after one hot minute...? But Grateful Dead had everyone, including backup singers and Robert Hunter, who didn't even play in the band (he wrote lyrics).
      5. Speaking of, if Robert Hunter's in the hall, why not Bernie Taupin? No Bernie, no Elton John. Simple as that.
      6. Fleetwood Mac treating their history/induction like gerrymandering. They cut Bob Welch out in the middle just to be assholes (the dude later killed himself, could've used this to keep his spirits up, perhaps...)
      7. Speaking of, why the fuck is Stevie Nicks in twice? Her solo career amounts to one hit, and a few duets with the likes of Tom Petty...if you need women, there are plenty being ignored.

    I've been a fan of The Red Hot Chili Peppers ever since they came out. My now 24 year old son loves The Red Hot Chili Peppers.

    Love the RHCP. Their speeches here gave me goosebumps. They came from the heart. 🇬🇧❤❤❤❤❤
