The affiliation with Erle Stanley Gardner and his writing staff explains a lot of why Edge was such a terrific show. The quality of both the writing and the acting kept me glued to the show for as long as I could meet its time frame. Changing it to 3:30 in the afternoon was a bummer as I was at work then. Thanks for the fascinating background. Loved hearing it , and am enjoying watching the episodes being shared on youtube now, even though they are disjointed and some of them are totally new to me.

Started watching The Edge of Night in the 60's right to the end, the infamous cliffhanger. I was hoping for the show to continue to resolve the plotline
at the very least but alas it did not happen - was really disappointed. I watch whatever episodes are available on CZcams but seems disjointed not watching said episodes in their original context. Thanks for your enlightening history of the show and why it ended as it did. Would really like to see a Where Are They Now video of the actors from the show - I know many of them are long gone but still would be good to see what the remaining actors are doing.

I was watching this show before i went to kindergarten!! lol
My favorite " period" was around the time Holland Taylor was on. She gave me nightmares! I loved Maeve Maguire but was truly partial to Jayne Bentzen as " Nicole Travis Drake Cavanagh". I loved Sharon Gabet, Frances Fisher, Terry Davis, Lois Kibbee, Ann Flood, Forrest Compton, Joe Lambie, Tony Craig, Joel Carruthers, Lori Cardille ( until they turned her character " psycho, played then by Stephanie Braxton). et al. Soooo many talented performers who brought excellent storylines to life. ( Are you listening Young and Restless? Lol).

Two of my favorite actresses, Lori Loughlin and the late Dixie Carter, were castmembers on EDGE. Entertainment industry, please give Lori a second chance!
