- This is N782TW, the oldest operational DC9 in the world! Rolled out of the factory in 1966, started service with Continental in 1967 and went-on to fly with many operators before being converted to a freighter in 2015 with Ameristar. Shed still got the power with her JT8D’s 💪🏻
Born in 1970 & took many flights on the DC9 as a kid. The sound of it was a kick then & it still is now.😎
Beautiful then and now. Many, many flights aboard DC9 beauties.
Quite possibly the best aviation short ever produced. 😊
Wow!! A 57 yr old DC-9! My first flight on a DC-9 was 51 years ago in 1972. Had several more flights back then as well. Nice to see some have survived all these years!
Brings back so many memories of spotting in the 70s
Nothing like the DC-9. Such an amazing jet
Dad worked for Douglas for 42 years. Beautiful planes came out of our Long Beach plant.
Those engines almost blew my house off its hinges on my home audio. RAW POWER baby!!!
Looks stunning, sounds stunning! Stunning work Jerry!
Sort of wished I’d managed to stay awake now!! Great sound!
Not merely a DC-9, but a Series 10, the original version (before
they started stretching the daylights out of it).
Yeah still got it wow loud brilliant
DC8 was such a FREAKING BEAST!!!!!!
Wow, that plane is just a year old than me and still going strong lol! Volume was up...thank god the neighbours are at work. Great shot, Jerry!
Considering this kite is 57yrs old she still looks & sounds great
What a spot!
Always better live! Become a member people!!
DC9 was the first aircraft I flew with and made me immediately fall in love with commercial aviation. A flight between Jerez and Madrid in 1991.
Caracas to Puerto Ordaz 1979/80 👌(Aeropostal) but my first flyght was on TAP- Boing 707 😍
Love the raw power and old style rotating beacon light. 🔥
Miss those JT8D's! 👍✈️
Beautiful aircraft!
JT8D sound and power! Flew on a Air Canada DC-9 back in the 80's out of Toronto Pearson YYZ ! Great US show Jerry and Gilly!
Wow love the too much power.
Still rips!
Felt absolutely privileged to have seen one of these last year at my local airport. It had the most amazing sound I've heard.
Beautiful bird. In better shape than me and I'm 3 years younger!
What a great catch!
Jesus Jeremy this little Dinojet still works with this powerful engines💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼✔️✈️✈️✈️ I love this jet and 727 'cause are iconic jets❤

*Beautiful Sound*
That’s music
Awesome 🚀
Miss those engines....just old enough to remember seeing 727s and DC9s at the tail end of their lives.
I remember them being really loud and according to older avgeeks, that was AFTER they received their hush kits
Vancouver yeah 👍🏻
Wow is that a smooth takeoff
It always strikes me how much jet engine technology has advanced. As awesome and loud as this DC9 is, newer engines are so much quieter.
I lived for a time near a large airport when i was a lad, and it truly was a noisier experience than modern airports.
Oh wow super cool plane fab take off✈️😃🥰
GO GO GO WOW freight dog.😍
Amazing sound
Wow
Sick
So genuine question for knowledgeable folk on the channel. Surely there are very few pilots left with the necessary training and licence, etc to actually fly this. How do you keep enough pilots still flying for these fairly rare planes?
A pocket rocket!
I have a 200 scale diecast of that plane from Ameristar. NOICE~
British midland dc 9 out of leeds bradford to lhr 7 in the morning used to wake half of leeds up
That'll be like Triggers broom 🤣
Used to get the USN C-9s into Northolt back in the day 😮
Wow 😮
Effortless ❤
In Seattle for maintenance I guess?
When planes were real planes!!!!

Not a hush kit in sight the way aircraft are meant to sound
