- Designed to meet the oil and gas industry's need for an educated and prepared workforce, Lone Star College is now offering an Oil and Gas Drilling Floorhand Roustabout program. Classroom and lab training will provide entry-level knowledge and skills needed for workers in the drilling and exploration sector of the oil and gas industry. Upon successful completion of the Floorhand Roustabout program four nationally recognized certifications will be provided by the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC®).

Glad there is a collage for floorhands/roughnecking. It will greatly help those get into the oil industry with no experience etc. I plan on applying and travelling from Australia.

I suggest yall dont listen to "survivors" who got lucky and were selected even without experience because the company was willing to spend extra hours and money training newbies. Financially, companies would choose those who went to trade school over those who don't. Aint rocket science.

chains have been illegal to use for sometime now.
Is this certificate worth the money or I’m just better off applying without experience ?
Its a waste of time on the job experience is better just for the simple fact that these guys are working like snails a good crew will teach you and the basics
I think though if you get a trade you can ask for how much you want so you don’t get confused go get your trade because just walking on somebody’s job they ain’t gonna give you shit you lucked up if you find the jobs that start anybody out at 18 a hour I’m definitely looking for one now the oil field is not what everybody think it is they are talking about how they made a lot of money if you don’t have your cdls they are not talking to you lol i wish peoples would stop praising the oil field so I’m here to tell you the truth go get tour ged trade and cdls and make some real money
@@josuepinto21 a lot of drilling industry’s won’t take on those without experience, I tried applying and did not pass the application process
@@josuepinto21 i dont see any valid justification in your reasoning. All i hear is survival bias. From a financial perspective, aint no company gonna choose a total newbie, spend money on extra hours training him, compared to hiring someone right of trade school.
For real. U rarely hear back if u don’t have Atleast 6 months experience from somewhere else

Don't get me wrong. Work smart, not hard. But am I now the old man, who had only been off the Rigs for 15 years, think that this 3 man floor crew, and pace, is looking too relaxing? We ran marathons on a full trip.

Correct im definitely moving up my rank though i got the skillz to do whatever i want my last job i started out at 11 and i took on something different in the same job and was making 14 im trying to make 17 dollars a hour and i think i no who i need to be bugging everyday
