- Sometimes, on a chat-show, the host and guest just MESH. Like Wogan and J.R. Or Parky and Miss Piggy. On this occasion, the chemistry was so palpable - for weeks afterwards, people were asking Frank if he'd NAILED Drew Barrymore's MUCH sexier Mum. Frank said NO.

Knowing Drew’s dad was a drug addict and seeing the mom here knowing there is something off with her - I feel Drew has done a great job at staying in control and breaking the chain.

This person made her poor daughter feel like she was "out of control" and a "bad girl". Ultimately, the court decided Drew was better off on her own at fourteen years old than with her mother. I think that's telling. It's so unfair that the sweetest people seem cursed with horrific parents.
Yes, she seems to be so immature and insecure. I'm sure she has a histrionic personality disorder. Drew has the depth that her mother lacked. Her mother seems so shallow, I'm shocked.
She was probably too self-centered to be able to take care of her child's emotional needs. Now I can understand why Drew became addicted to drugs and alcohol. :(

Some women have no maternal instinct even though they had a child...
and a huge percentage of men push for no contraceptives and then run away when they impregnate a woman.
I would never go on television saying negative things about my daughter, or even confirm something naughty she had done in her past. I would not be laughing at that spoof of my 9 year old drinking booze. This entire interview rubs me the wrong way. Where is the loyalty and love?

I misunderstood the title, and the introduction, I expected more details about her and the relationship of Drew Barrymore and her, but these two are just flirting, I am not interested in watching an interviewer and a woman... well, basically foreplaying. Sorry.

Some people should NEVER have children! It's amazing Drew actually turned out to be a great human being and she's also a very good mom. Her mom should be ashamed of herself, but by the looks of this it's obvious she doesn't care.

The only good she ever did for her child was putting Drew in a facility, because it actually gave Drew the discipline and structure a child needs, and she was able to become a stable & successful adult. But clearly she should've been checking herself in. She's disgusting!

Her mom- “no that’s not true she was 11 and 12 when she was doing cocaine”
I feel so sad for drew that she went through all that so young. It’s sad when a 15/16 year old teenager has drug and alcohol problems, but when it’s a TWELVE year old child then it’s heartbreaking and she deserved so much better. I’m glad she was able to get help young and have the long and successful career that she has had. Sucks she had to grow up so fast. Literally acting like an adult at 8/9 years old:(

Can't really blame Drew for dissociating herself from this woman for years at a time. The amazing thing is...as bad a mom as Jaid was, by comparison to abusive addict/alcoholic John Drew Barrymore she was the Parent Of the Year!

Pretty much, yeah. However, Drew *did* have a relationship (of sorts) with him during the last year of his life. She provided her vagabond father with a place to live, and paid his medical bills (until his death in 2004 from cancer. Very generous of her, all things considered.) She'd long since come to terms with the fact that they would never have a typical father-daughter relationship. "...he's not a dad. He's never provided me with anything. ...he's a taker, not a giver. But I accept that."
Drew said in Wildflower her mother never spoke about her age but here she says she's 49
