“I think a lot of people can get hung up on making everything perfect”
Me sitting here balancing the top end up my synths with my cymbals for an hour 😩
Put Soothe2 on ya synth, focus on the highs only and put it into sidechain mode with the cymbals - thank me later
@@ScottThePisces wow, that’s actually amazing, I do something very similar with my vocals and sidechain the mid signal with trackspacer to let the vocal shine through. Amazing advice, thank you sir 💯
high cut on the cymbals and let the synths use the high end or viceversa. in the context of the song you have to let just one be there and the other will complement the sound.
Super simple track, but it’s got so much heft and life in it. I really like that he takes us a bit into his thought process of creating the track. Not just explaining the decisions, but explaining why the decisions were made
Thx Bam Magera for these valuable mixing tips!
Cmon bam quit pinkin at my dink when I'm tryin to slomp
Always loved Flux Pavilion. He's the master of huge layered stacked walls of sound. Cool to see the 'gold dust' he sprinkles throughout, because that ends up mattering just as much as the big phat basses and leads. No frequencies left behind.
Its like gold duuuuuuust you hear me coming through your spe-ea-kahs You see me mashin' up your airwaves
I know you can't get enough of my sound. BWAAAAAAA bwee bwa bwee. BWAAAAAAA bwee bwa bwee. BWAAAAAAA bwee bwa bwee. BWAAAAAAA bwee bwa bwee.
SOL WE MISS YOU
PLEASE COME BACK WE LOVE YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO THE COMMUNITY
whenever youre back again, please dont let this channel disappear 🥺 all the videos youve uploaded are more than enough
Awe so cute 🥺
flux pavillon got me into electronic stuff over a decade ago. I remember hearing Digital Controĺler and being amazed... I've just started putting my focus into learning and making my own music. It will take a long time until I am satisfied with what I'm making but I will make something out of this in the end. Thank you for the lesson
Where you at Sol State? This was/is the best music production/creator channel.
Thanks. Had to take a break. Planning to return. Date TBD.
Big up yourself, a break is always needed, just glad you're alive! Take care, return whenever. @@SolStateMusic
I think the overarching thing is people trying to emulate Noisia, failing, and discovering a cool thing otherwise hahah (Skrillex).
Haha, that is probably a good production routine
I love how he mentions he's riffing off, inspired by, a Noisia tune.
Sol state is having sponsors now! that's great news, this will definitely be the biggest channel for music producers!
Miss these videos... hope you're good
This video is outstanding -- great approach!
I didn't know Flux Pavilion was a Cubase user. Good to know!
This is one the best music productions channels 🔥
There's actually some great ideas in this awesome track.
not a big fan of the song being showcased, but the techniques flux uses are always so creative and helpful
WHY
Crazy amount of dissonance, really no harmony at all in the chorus
Could have just said..The techniques flux uses are always so creative and helpful.
@@Darksagan no wrong incorrect
@@drinkinouttacups2665 👋
come back sol state :(
Planning on it. Not sure when.
Best yt channel ever!!!!
It seems to be an almost 50/50 split amongst producers whether you should find good sounds in the first place or layer a lot of sounds together to get the one you want. I've had success with both ways.
Good observation. Pretty cool how both ways are "right"
Mike Dean is a 1 sound guy.
Love this

Sol state? Where’d you go buddy? 😢 been checking in for new videos every once in a while, hope everything is good!
Had to take a break. Planning to return. Date TBD.
@@SolStateMusic glad to hear it! Your channel is one of my favs! 😊
Flux destroyed the competition with Andrew Huang's 4 producers 1 sample. Respect.
I think Sol State has provided us with enough content to improve our tracks. We need to take what we've learned from here and put it into practice! We can always review the old videos if needed. New ones would be nice but we honestly don't need them.
Love this video. If possible could you do a video with Culture Shock on their song Deconstruct. It sounds incredible and I just know there's alot to learn from it
Merry Christmas Sol State!
Thanks, happy holidays and new year!
dopeeee
Dope.
Miss ya homie
People in the US definitely yell out the basslines at shows as well lol. Lots of fun

Ian's busy writing hits, hope he'll come back too!
please come back bro
Planning to. Not sure when.
2:15 Perfect is the enemy of good.
But good is the enemy of great
@@joshviggiani9844 no it’s not. The point is that you shouldn’t chase perfection at the expense of doing something good. Perfection doesn’t exist and trying to achieve it will stop anything good getting done
Maybe you mean great is the enemy of good?
@@ruk2023-- No I really mean good is the enemy of great. Great isn't unachievable and in fact very achievable, as opposed to perfect. I settle for no less than great. Then try to make it even better.
Settling for good is why the music scene is flooded with mediocrity.
new videos again?🥺
please :(
This track owes so much to Rustie and Hudson Mohawke
COME BACK!
"The devils in the details."
Someone's paying attention :)
This video is a sleeper if you missed this one I'm sorry
WHERE ARE THE VIDS???????? SOL STATE COME BACK!
I guess this channel is dead?
What happened to the really good music producers used to make? This dubstep vibe is just audio pollution. Many of the new tracks these days are audio pollution and ear ache! Old school music is still by far better than this shit.
Flux is a legend. Let us know when you make a song that reaches its first 100 listens. From there, then put another 10+ years in and come back and talk.
@@LETTMusic Try being calm mate, don't take everything as an insult. It was my honest opinion and I'm still proud of it. It's not about plays or money or anything, it's about art and different opinions. Have some respect, don't jump at people like that, maybe they are better than what you think. Step out of the box mate. Cheers!
Much love for Flux Pavilion and appreciation for teaching about tricks and technical stuff
@@phynyxsound I very calmly put you in your place because you reduced this to 'noise pollution' and 'ear ache' and called this 'shit'. I wouldn't say you started on a calm foot. I love music of all decades, we can go back to Gregorian chants and Baroque pieces on the harpsichord. What I'm not into is musical elitism. Doesn't have to be old vs. new, good music is good music. You put negativity out, so you get negativity back, that's the overall lesson. If it's not to your taste, then there's no reason to hate on it, it's just not for you. I find there's something valuable in every genre. I'm not the one in a 'box'. Show respect to get respect.
@@LETTMusic You have a very bad world view man, go correct yourself and also at least practice what you preach mate! LMFAO. My mistake was taking you seriously. My bad coming down to your level. Good luck in your box!
@@phynyxsound My bad for checking you after you tried to belittle a veteran producer. It was just a sarcastic takedown, but take from it what you will. You continue to try and make up my world view and talk about my perspective, but you need to take a look in the mirror, for something you started.
This isn't about musical opinion, it's about not calling someone trash, especially when you don't have the catalog or industry experience to help add credentials to why your opinion matters in the first place. You came in with a superiority complex against Flux Pavilion and dubstep, but from your position, you are just mud slinging. I'm practicing what I preach by trying to get a message across to you to not do that and consider looking for the best in genres, or tips that you can apply to your own music even though you don't create this style. It's called having a mentality that you're never too good or above anyone to learn something new.
Internet arguments are a waste of both of our times, so as Kendrick said, sit down, be humble.
