    Q: Why your video in ppt form? 3rd grade?
    A: Due to my poorly spoken english and laziness in retaking videos, I just take some photos out of my phone and call it a day.
    Q: What is your dac/amp?
    A: Topping E30ii + L30ii / Onkyo DP-X1A / Moonriver 2 / Dawn pro / Apple Dongle / Focusrite 2i2
    Q: Do you have song list for earphones/headphones testing?
    A: Technically yes, but usually I just listen to what I feel like at that moment. This time, I basically use it to do everything, including playing games, editing, casually listening to music etc. I can still pick something out tho.

    Nice review, sir. Esp, being da 1st reviewer to review this iem. Thanks for da infos & I truly appreciate 'em. FYI, I already pre-ordered it 2 days ago for 2/3 of da full MSRP through a local audio store on an online shopping platform. So, after knowing this, I'm truly lucky to grab this kinda deal, as I'm truly curious what this sub-$100 Moondrop hybrid iem can offer for it's value.

    Nice review! I pre ordered these and planning to use it with my Little White neckband. Really looking forward to this because the 3D printed shell was made by the same company who made the Hexa's, which I liked very much. The fact the tuning is very safe is a good thing for me because it can easily be tuned with EQ. Also personally, it's a real looker.

    The cable app recognizes the cable. So you can use it with other iems...just dont expect drastic changes to tuning. You can really only do minor tweaks and if its not an iem the cable recognizes, youll be stuck with basic presets or doing it yourself. So keep that in mind. Still a solid video calling cable for mobile phone use and the quality of the cable is really nice. Feels solid and comfy. Premium feeling cable tbh. (Its really just the freedsp cable with may labeling. As i can see the app is the same.) The app is buggy too hence why i gotta edit this. So the trick to it is plugging the cable in only after opening the app. If it bugs out, go to your settings and force stop the application to shut it down. Then open it and plug the cable in again. So keep that in mind too. The app can be a pain

    I want to ask have you tried kz dfi switch, i like the neutral tuning of dfi especially vocal and treble being detail and thick vocals, will this be an upgrade from it, and personally prefer a little bit more treble and bass than ief 2019 neutral graph

      @catadegen  Před 7 měsíci +2

      Thank you bruh. Unfortunately I have never tried kz dfi switch (the only KZ iem that i still own, is OG HBB PR2), so I cannot say much on that. The thing about moondrop's tuning is usually very linear and some may find it thin on vocal. While I found the vocal of May (on a 3.5mm cable) is right on my face and there's more than enough bass to carry the rhythm (more than ief 2019, i think), I'd still define it in the "airy" category with planar driver providing extra texture to such vocal.

      @@RafikExe It's a weird feeling. While the nature of sound in this set is fundamentally dynamic, but when a song is calling for percussions like triangle, then it's easily to realize that the resolution in those triangles does not belong to the dynamic driver, its a mix with planar's characteristics.

    Good review! I'm a bit new to the IEM game, but I got into it recently. What do you think of the Aria 2's? They sound good but I don't hear much about them. Has moondrop just been stagnant or something?

    • @catadegen
      @catadegen  Před 6 měsíci +3

      Ty bruh. Unfortunately I don't have Aria 2 on hand, so I really can't say much about it. But if it's something similar to Kato, I can see why people not too keen on talking about it, because, if "Great" is the baseline, then only "Exceptional" can surpass expectation. And most possibly, Aria 2 is not for that.
      Regarding to Moondrop, they're doing great, it's just so obvious that they have some models either targeting a specific group of audience or grabbing money for R&D purposes (you know, the general grab money from niche group of people, and go all-out on products that target the majority, kind of strat).
      A lil bit off the track, imo & as of now, there's only 4 Moondrop products are META in the hobby: Spacetravel, Chu2, May, Dawn Pro
      Others are great, but preferences start to kick in.

      You can use the preset eq for other iems, but since those presets are tailor made for May, so it may sound weird.
      For example, Basshead for May, such eq doesn't only increase Bass, it actually shape the other frequency, such as mid range of May to fit their target.
      Regarding to community eq feature, there's such a column and people can submit their own eq onto it, but idk whether those submission are free for everyone browsing or approval based, since i dont see much profile for May yet.

      I was gonna guess Brazil but you said Indonesia. I guess we're both on the same sinking ship, even if worlds apart. 😢

    This or truthear hexa?

    • @catadegen
      @catadegen  Před 3 měsíci

      This for me, since it has a more regular sound stage and better comfort for my ears.

      I'll always pick this over hexa, simply because of better comfort, a more regular soundstage, and my tonal preference.

    an upgrade from aria?

    • @catadegen
      @catadegen  Před 7 měsíci

      Since I don't have aria, i can only compare it to Kato. I think its not a word on word "upgrade", if fact, if we are talk purely based on the quality on dynamic driver, I sincerely don't think May has a better dynamic driver than Kato. But since they are tuned in two completely different way, and May is providing extra treble extension with the planar driver (8kHz +), its hard to tell.
      Of course, if we are just talking about comfort, I will take May , 10/10 times :/

      @catadegen  Před 7 měsíci +1

      While all of them have different sound signature and I'm basically daily driving May on a 3.5mm cable, I'd say just go for Chu2 for your first iem, since it set a baseline on what to expect from a pair of good iems in general (not just in $20 range, but everything).
