    I should add, that there is stems creator software for free, and a small band can record, or utilize individual stem tracks to backup their performance. stems isn't just limited to buying stems tunes, it's a way to express one's self in unique ways outside of the box. Therefore, it is not geared only to stems DJs. It can be a performing mixer for a one or two man band as well, particularly those that can play more than one instrument, and want to combine stems recordings into one track as a backup to their solo performance is another way of putting it.

    I have added 2 of these to my 900nexus setup with Tech1200's, I find it to be an added bonus.
    I love them, they are a lot of fun.

    For a truly modular setup, they should make a single-deck jogwheel controller as well. If you mostly use sync and occasionally need to manually beatmatch something, you might only need one. Would be handy for the S8 and S5 too.
    Might need its own sound card, in case you want to use an external mixer.

    Wonder if anyone has used two D2 units with 2 turntables with Phase DVS wireless modules and a Z2 mixer or another Traktor compatible mixer

    Two D2s (400 x 2) and a Z1 (200) is smaller but cost more than buying an S8 which you can get now for about 400-800

    Interesting. I can see some potential in conjunction with the Tractor Z2 mixer. I was thinking of adding the Machine to my set up. Now I'm wondering would thus unit make more sense? My ultimate goal is live remixes

      +Dez Lee If you want to perform live remixes, then this could definitely be the way to go. Hit me up via email at djblaze@djbooth.net and I can give you some more advise on a setup that works for you.

  • @Shaker4x4
    @Shaker4x4 Před 7 lety +1

    I don't see many people utilizing 2 x D2s with an S8 for independent decks rather than toggling decks. It also adds overkill expansion, functionality and more possibilities for experienced remix users. If only they put DMX lighting control into their Traktor software and that function into these decks, would tidy up equipment...

      If you want to use Traktor STEMS, then get the S8. If you just want to DJ tracks, then get the Serato SX2...

    does this set up require a laptop? or would you be able to put your set or whatever on a USB ? and use the screens on the D2 instead of having to carry around a laptop.

  • @victorgimenezesbri4582

    Hello! Can I connect a Traktor D2 to a Traktor S4? Is it a Traktor F1 a better option to use with my S4?

    • @RealDJblaze
      @RealDJblaze  Před 7 lety +2

      The D2 is a better option than the F1 to use Stems...

    • @mitchminimal6942
      @mitchminimal6942 Před 5 lety

      I use 2 D2s and an S4 myself. It works great for my style, which is FX laden psychedelic minimal techno most of the time. I use the remix decks more than the stems at the moment. I also combine it with Maschine and other out board processing,

    hi
    Is it possible to use 2 traktor kontrol D2 with traktor kontrol S4? Could you show us by video if that is posible, please?
    I have traktor Kontrol S4 and i would like to buy traktor kontrol S8, but if i could use 2 of D2 with S4 in that way i could add things that traktor 4 doesn´t have and give at same time jogwheels and pitch to each D2.

    • @RealDJblaze
      @RealDJblaze  Před 8 lety +1

      +Miguel Angel Altamirano Yes, you can do this. Just connect both D2's to each other then plug the S4's USB into the D2 and you're ready to go.

    I've bought a D2..then I've sold it.
    I've sold it because:
    1) for change the pitch/bpm you need to click a button and then the browser jog. Very uncomfortable and annoyng. This involves to an excessive use of the sync
    2) File stem are still rare for some genre ...
    3) it can be useless for some genre
    4) Is a controller without a standalone fuctions or memory capacity. It still depends by a pc.
    Some function are very pretty, but there are controller that make the same.
    I find better some full controller as DDJ SX and next models.
    P.S. I play genre as Electro, FrenchHouse/nudisco and subgenres... maybe is better for some genre like techno/deep
    P.P.S. I want to explain better and more but my english is a awkwardness :(

      Nice! ;) keep it up ♥

    • @DjangoFlaherty
      @DjangoFlaherty Před 8 lety

      +robyca92 I think for a traditional DJ, these would be most useful alongside a regular DJ controller - even a very basic one with pitch faders and jogwheels. Everything else can be done on the D2s - cue points, effects, remix decks, e.t.c.
      On a basic 2-deck controller with FX controls, you could remap the FX controls to volume and filters of decks 3 and 4.
      If you're playing in a club, you could use the D2s alongside CDJs and mixer, and leave your controller at home.

    I really enjoy your videos, but I honestly couldn't make it past 4 minutes. It's not you its the controller. I used to be such a fan of Traktor but the S8 and D2 just do not interest me at all. I'm sure for some this is an awesome controller but just not for me. Keep up the good work on the videos!

    • @RealDJblaze
      @RealDJblaze  Před 8 lety +1

      +MQ Party Thanks for your honest feedback. This is not my DJ style much either, but it was still fun using Stems on these. I wouldn't convert because I am a hip-hop turntable DJ, but this is still a cool style to play with.
