They’ve (and yes I know thats a blanket statement but you get the point) gotten away from the simplest of things. Not showing up for accidents returning calls or responding when you send in video. It’s the simple things that garner you the respect of a community. Because word of mouth travels fast. So it’s upsetting to see that person get a ticket when clearly the lady should’ve gotten one. #1 Um, the other drivers insurance is supposed to pay for your medical bills and you would only have legal fees if you hired a lawyer which, if you did, they did a horrible job. I know a little old lady that t-boned somebody who didn't stop exiting a gas station. She called the 1-800 "have you been hurt in a car wreck" lawyer and got $16K AFTER legal fees and her car was only worth like $3K. For them to only give this person $12K, they really got shorted.

    • @MizzKQ
      @MizzKQ Před 10 měsíci +2

      Exactly!!! I hired one….the deal was they take 40% of what they get you. Well worth it. They even sorted out all the money. Car paid, the leftover medical expenses were paid off, their cut, and I took home almost $11,000 after all of that. Takes a little longer but you have to do to get what’s owed to you. I’m guessing they just talked to the old guys insurance and took their first offer. Never talk to those insurance agents when it’s a car accident like this. Always hire the lawyer.

      I really hope that guy was asked to pass a driving test and medical exam, that proves he is still fit to drive.
      Where i work is a lot of old people and they drive terribly...Slow, does not orient themselves, and generally just dangerous driving.
      Until a few years ago, we had mandatory checks at 70, 75, 80 and then every 2 years from 80 onward. This was just a medical test, to test eyesight, hearing, reflexes and to test for senility.
      They removed that, because "There are not very many accidents with senile people"....Which predictably have lead to more accidents with senile people (Before, they were "removed" from traffic before becoming very dangerous, now they are not.)

      All plates in all States should be lifetime attached to the car...
      so one plate for a lifetime.
      When you move from State to State only a small decal stuck to the plate should signify you you paid up the tax/registration etc in that State..
      but the permanent plates (one each end of every vehicle) should stay with the vehicle until it is written off or deregistered.....

    • @JeffDeWitt
      @JeffDeWitt Před rokem +1

    • @Genious.

    • @JohnSmith-yv6eq
      @JohnSmith-yv6eq Před rokem +2

      @@JeffDeWitt
      The registration is paid for by the new owner.
      The new registration comes in the form of a decal that is stuck to a corner of the plate especially left blank for it.
      The whole system will require every State to opt in to a national register of all motor vehicles, trailers, RVs etc...everything that now has a plate.
      What this would mean is that every vehicle would always have plates attached to it....only the State in which it would be taxed would vary.
      Much simpler and much more robust system...and it forces the seller to ensure transfer of ownership to the new owner otherwise al tickets get pinned on the "previous" owner...who stays the legally liable owner until the ownership is transferred.
      No more carrying around plates, temporary tags, one plate on a vehicle etc....
