That is one big beautiful bird. I have seen the simulators for both front and rear seats, you seem to have the colors spot on. Nice details. Thanks for sharing.
Great job David! I have the kit in my stash and took a look at it recently. I discovered I had partially started building it. This would have been way back in the late 80s. I had been to the 1986 IPMS convention in Sacramento, and got to see a real SR-71 do a flying demo at the Beal AFB open house.
Bought this kit at show. Came without the paint. It doesn’t fit in my cabinets. Instead it’s under the table. Great job. Saving this for when I build it.
That’s a great build David. This looks like it built up wonderfully. The blackbird has long been one of my favorite aircraft and is on my list to build one day.
Thanks for sharing this David. Kit looks great, nice work. I have seen one of the real SR71's and they are very impressive up-close and personal. Have a great weekend. -David
@@davidchin350 I don't think the pitotsurvived the 80s. it was a very happy memory, before I cared about seams and stuff. A much simpler time. I started another one in 2006 which is a total putty pig...
@davidchin350 I haven't done any wingeded thingedies. I own 1, some ww2 single prop fighter but that's it. I might, after i get down this space craft road I'm headed next!
Nice build. I have a Revell SR-71 in my stash, but have no idea when I will get to building it. You're the second person who recently mentioned how these birds leaked while refueling on the ground. Weird but it makes sense at the same time.
Looking good David! I am really digging your visits of your older builds. Keep up the good work! 😀👍🏻
Thanks Steven, glad you like them.I have more revisits planned.
That plane looks AWESOME! The decals and the windows up for the pilots look really cool!
Thanks Mark, this is a build from the 80's/90's

Thanks Ed, that's a high compliment since I built it before internet reference pics were readily available.😊
This blackbird looks awesome! Absolutely awesome 😁👍👍👍
Thanks so much 😊 Toni, glad you like it. I built this in the 1980's.
Nice build good detail and soft coloring
Thanks, glad you like it. Wish Testors included the crew figures.
It's such a Cool plane!!!!! Nice build David!!!! Enjoyed hearing the info on the 1:1. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for stopping by and watching Mike, glad you like it 👍
Wicked Black Bird build David 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Mike, it still looks contemporary although it's from the 60's.
Fantastic build, my friend, it looks great!! 😁✌️
Thanks Stephen, I'm surprised I've had it this long from the late 80's when I built it.

Thanks Ken, that Flying demo sounds great. Hope you finish your SR-71.

Thanks John, I hope all the parts are in the box😉

Very nice David, you did a great job on that monster SR, thank you for sharing!
Thanks for checking it out.😊
That’s a great build David. This looks like it built up wonderfully. The blackbird has long been one of my favorite aircraft and is on my list to build one day.
Thanks Kyle, it's extremely long at 26 inches so you will need storage post build.😊
@@davidchin350 I haven’t decided where I could put it yet. 😂 definitely have to figure that part out first. Lol
Great looking Blackbird David!!
Thanks Tom, a buils from the 80's/90's
Well done. This is another plane I'd love to build.
Thanks for stopping by, I remember it was a fun build.😊
Very sinister aircraft. I was fortunate enough to have seen one up close in the Air and Space Museum in Omaha, NE. Nice build David!!
Thanks Larry, something I would expect Darth Vader to step out of.😲
Beautiful and very well done Black Bird fighter jet David! Love the detail!
Thanks John, enjoy your turkey.
@@davidchin350 Will do buddy you as well!
Awesome build. I have built this kit in the past.
That's awesome, I still see the Testors on auction sites, or get the newly tooled Revell 1/48 scale. 🙂
Thanks for sharing this David. Kit looks great, nice work. I have seen one of the real SR71's and they are very impressive up-close and personal. Have a great weekend.

That's very cool David, thanks for checking out the video.
Nice Blackbird David. Great job. One of my favorite aircraft.
Many thanks Skip! This kit is hard to store at 26" long
The SR-71 was an amazing aircraft design. You did a great job on this build David, really nice finish.
Thanks Mike, this plane is very long when completed. The SR-71 was very advanced for its time.👍
Nice revisit. It really brought me back to when I built his one I think I got it after finishing 5th grade. I think I still have parts of it.
Thanks Kurt, hopefully they were pleasant memories and not PTS 😧If you have the front Pitot tube I can really use it.

Awesome awesome build sir. Very very cool.
Thanks Big Eddie, a build from my past.
Very cool build David, your getting me in the mood to build an airplane! ✈ 🙂 🤜🤛
Thanks Tim, I'm playing the long game with all the model car builders to slowly sway them to military planes and armor 😁
@@davidchin350 There you go..... I know I enjoy building tanks and Sci Fi stuff.
amazing detail 👌 looks so good 👌👍😎😎😎
Thanks, glad you like it.😊
Oh man! You did not dissapoint!... Its beautifully done!😍

Great looking build David i have the 48 scale new tool will be on the bench next year 👍👍
Thanks Seamus, wonder if you will have a similar experience as Joe from Mad Genius. Enjoy your build when you get to it.😊
Nice build
Thanks Jamie, I remember this was a fun build.
Great build !
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!🙂
Nice work!
Thanks Bryan👍
Very nice model
Thanks for checking out the video😊
Fun fact, my step grandfather was at skunkworks, he was one of the 1st flying wing pilots.
Thanks😊 for the tidbit of info. Surprised you have not built both the AMT prop and jet powered flying wing.

Thanks Dario, have fun with your build. Is it the small 1/72 or the larger 1/48?
@@davidchin350 Just the 1:72 but at least I'll save display space. 😄
I have an old testors version that the vertical stabilizers broke off I will be metal pinning them back on the tops and the bottom fins too.
The vertical stabilizers and the pitot tubes are the first to break off on this SR-71. Good luck with your restoration.
wow, your blackbird is magnificent😍, the painting is superb🎨👍👍👍, what type of painter did you use?
yannis
Thanks Yannis, I used Testors gloss black spray can and finished it with Testors Dullcote spray can.😊
